Seeing, Jiang Yuyan was not badly sore like the last time, Lu Qiang left out a sigh of relief. He applied the cream gently on her sore part and covered her with the quilt after pulling down her dress. Turning off all the lights, he slept beside her but keeping a space between them as not willing to disturb her deep sleep.
Staring at her with a pleasant smile on his face, Lu Qiang fell asleep. He had content expressions on his face as if he got everything whatever he wished for and needed nothing more. Jiang Yuyan was everything for him.

The next day, In Xi Cheng's office鈥?/p>
"Welcome, my friend. After so many days finally, I got to see you," Xi Cheng said. He was sitting in his chair behind his work table.
"Why did you ask me to come here?" Zhang Wei asked and sat in the chair opposite to him.
"I heard Ming Rusheng is trying to challenge Lu Qiang," Xi Cheng replied.
"It's not about challenging anyone but to test his own ability. Moreover, it's a business world where one is free to step in any business they want if the one is capable of." Zhang Wei replied carrying a serious expression on his face.
"When did I say one should not test their capability but I was just curious as he is breaking what elders have decided in the past and鈥?."
"Not necessary for the next generations to follow it," Zhang Wei said coldly, not letting his complete his line.
Seeing him different than how Zhang Wei used to behave in the past, Xi Cheng asked calmly, "Why are you so cold nowadays, my friend."
"I am not."
"You seem distant. I still remember the days when we were partners in everything we did in the past," Xi Cheng said having a hidden meaning to his words that Zhang Wei didn't fail to notice.
"I would like to leave things in the past and move ahead."
"You didn't share the same thought when you were so determined to take revenge for what happened when you were young," Xi Cheng asked, his intentions clear to dig out past that Zhang Wei was trying to forget for a long time.
"I was not in the right state of mind," Zhang Wei replied not falling to Xi Cheng's mischievous tricks.
Smiling, as he sensed, nothing was going to work on Zhang, for now, Xi Cheng tried to calm the tense atmosphere. "Good to see that you are now."
"Is there any other reason that you called me?" Zhang Wei asked.
"There is."
Zhang Wei looked at Xi Cheng with a questioning gaze and asked Xi Cheng replied, "I just wanted to remind you about our friendship and the trust in each other."
"Trust!" Zhang Wei specifically said this word knowing Xi Cheng was the last person whom one should trust.
"You have a strong reason to trust me as till date I never brought out the secret about what happened with elder Ming's daughter. It's all because I care for you as my friend," Xi Cheng replied. 9
"Are you trying to threaten me with it?" Zhang Wei asked straight away.
Carrying the same fake but pleasant-looking smile, Xi Cheng said, "Threat? You are taking me wrong, my old friend. I was not even born when that happened. It was you who trusted me and told me what happened. I, being a true friend never broke your trust."
"I was drunk and emotional, so ended up spurting out the things." Zhang Wei was regretting it now.
"Yes, but you did it because you thought of me as your friend. Am I wrong?" Xi Cheng asked.
Zhang Wei couldn't say a word as he did consider Xi Cheng as his friend because both shared the same goal but he never thought it could turn out to be his mistake after knowing Xi Cheng for so many years.
Xi Cheng was a sly fox who was not trustable at all and Zhang Wei was worried to think he might target Ming Rusheng to get the Lus down and Zhang Wei didn't want Ming Rusheng to join hands with Xi Cheng. He was trying his best to keep both of them away. 2
Seeing Zhang Wei immersed in his thoughts, Xi Cheng said, "Don't worry my friend, I will take that secret to my grave, just keep our friendship like before."
Zhang Wei nodded and Xi Cheng continued. "This time there is someone big-shot behind the Lus. I wonder what they had done to have that person to come after them."
It surprised Zhang Wei and he asked, "Who?"
"You will get to know about it later as I too am not sure about so many things but this time we might be able to take down the Lus for real," Xi Cheng said.
Zhang Wei sat there thinking deeply and said, "If you want to take down their business then I am with you but if there is a plan like in the past, then I am not with you."
Xi Cheng chuckled. "This time, things would be different for sure."
Not replying to him, Zhang Wei got up from the chair and said, "I have an important meeting to attend. I will take leave." Xi Cheng nodded.
As Zhang Wei left the room, an evil smile appeared on his lips and he said, "This time, there won't be any failure, My friend."
Leaning down in his chair, closing his grey shade eyes those were hiding behind his golden rim frame, he laughed loudly.
Zhang Wei sat in his car, so many things going on in his mind. He dialed a number to make a call.
"From today, keep an eye on Xi Cheng and give me all the details of what he does and whom he meets. Not a single detail should be left out."
Getting a reply from the person, Zhan Wei cut the call.
"Go to the Ming Industries office," Zhang Wei instructed the driver.
