The next day after breakfast, Lu Jinhai asked Lu Feng to see him. Before going to the office, Lu Jinhai and Lu Lijun were in his study room where Lu Jinhai wished to talk to his son.
Lu Lijun stood across the study table where lu Jinhai sat in his chair. Lu Lijun waited for his father to talk.
"Have a seat," said Lu Jinhai.
"I'm fine."
"I got to know about the incidence in the pub," Lu Jinhai informed.
Lu Lijun understood such things wouldn't be hidden from Chairman Lu and spoke, "They deserved it."
Lu Jinhai sighed, "I just want you to understand if you let others know your weakness, they would surely try to use it against you. Shouldn't you be prepared for such things to happen in the future?"
"I'll be careful," said Lu Lijun.
"Hmm. I trust you," saying Lu Jinhai paused for a while as if he had something else in mind too. "There is something I would like to know."
Lu Lijun waited for his father to talk.
"Do you have anyone you like?" Lu Jinhai asked.
It shocked Lu Lijun as it was so sudden.
Lu Jinhai sensed the tension in his son and chuckled, smiling lightly to ease the situation. "You were in England for so long, so I don't know much about you. If you have someone from there, you like...Umm...A girlfriend?... you can tell me."
"There is no one," Lu Lijun replied firmly.
Lu Jinhai didn't ask much further, accepting what his son said. Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Lu Jinhai permitted.
Lu Feng entered the study room, "Uncle asked to see me."
Lu Jinhai nodded, "Have a seat."
Lu Jinhai looked at Lu Lijun, "If you wish, you can leave."
Lu Lijun nodded and left. Before he would step out of the room, he heard his father talking to Lu Feng.
"You know Wen Zac? If I'm not wrong, he was Lu Qiang and your friend."
"Hmm," Lu Feng agreed.
Hearing Wen Zac's name, Lu Lijun, who closed the door, stood out to know more.
He never liked to eavesdrop, but he didn't know why he was doing it and why he was so curious whenever the name Wen Zac was mentioned.
"What kind of a person do you think Wen Zac is?" Lu Jinhai asked.
"He is a good person. No complaints about him," Lu Feng described in short.
"Recently, Mr. Wen asked me if we would like to accept Wen Zac for Yuyan?" Lu Jinhai informed him.
It shocked Lu Feng, and he felt speechless.
"You know Yuyan better, so I thought to talk to you about it first. I talked to Jiang Peizhi, and he has no objection if Yuyan is ready."
"Does uncle think Yuyan will ever agree to it?" Lu Feng asked.
Lu Jinhai was aware of it and sighed, "I know what you mean but till how long can we let her be like this? Don't you think she should move on?"
Lu Feng nodded, "But I'm not sure if she would be ready for it."
"She would say no to it at first. We need to give her some time to think it over. If we raise it now, slowly, she might accept with time. It's not like we will force her. In the end, the decision would be hers."
Lu Feng turned silent, not knowing how to make his uncle understand what might happen after this.
Lu Jinhai continued, "I always wanted her to be in this family and marry you, but both of you didn't want it. Just like Lu Qiang, you are her good friends and understand her so..."
"We are good as friends," Lu Feng interrupted.
Agreeing, Lu Jinhai continued, "we need to find a good person who can give her all the happiness she deserves, and I think Wen Zac is the one."
"Uncle should talk to her first," Lu Feng suggested.
"I will. And soon, Mr. Wen will talk to his son. Once he is ready, then it all depends on Yuyan," Lu Jinhai informed.
Lu Feng just stared at his uncle, and Lu Jinhai smiled lightly.
"I know you must think I'm heartless, but we need to think about her future too. She had an excuse of the responsibilities she had, and Lu Lijun was not ready to handle it. But he is back and can free her from all this. It's time when she should think only about her life."
Lu Feng agreed with most of the things that Lu Jinhai said. He knew Jiang Yuyan had to be free from this trap of responsibilities that she accepted on her own and needed to live her life. But, he knew she would never accept this way of being free; she would never accept marrying anyone.
"Should I talk to her?" Lu Jinhai asked to make sure.
"It would be better to know her opinion first," Lu Feng agreed.
"I'll inform you once it's done," said Lu Jinhai, and Lu Feng stood up to leave.
Lu Lijun heard it all, and with a heavy heart and anxious mind, he left the place.
Jiang Yuyan was ready to get into her car to leave the office when Lu Lijun came out of the mansion.
He stared at her for a while, feeling anxious as if something was wrong.
"Aren't you going?" someone spoke, and Lu Lijun looked at the person who kept a hand on his shoulder. That was Lu Feng.
"Leaving," said Lu Lijun and stepped towards his car.
The driver opened the back passenger seat door for him to sit, but he heard Lu Lijun instructing him, "I'll drive."
The driver stepped away from the car, and Lu Lijun drove away at a speed as Lu Feng looked at his brother helplessly. Lu Feng was sure Lu Lijun must have heard the talk between him and Lu Jinhai, or there was no other reason for him to act like this suddenly.
Jiang Yuyan, who just sat in the car, ready to leave, saw it too and thought, 'Did something happen.'
