During the lunch, Jake accompanied them as his office was nearby from Lu Corporation.
Ordering the food, the two were ready to talk to their friend while Lu Lijun was in his own world.
"Are you that happy, seeing yourself in the news like this?" Jake commented.
"I can't do anything about it when others wanted to waste their energy on getting my life updates and make it into a gossip column in the news."
"Stop this bullshit and tell me why you are doing this," Jake countered as he looked serious.
Such remark from Jake surprised Noah, but he stayed silent as Jake was right here.
"I had enough of bullshit by letting others control my life. Now no more," Lu Lijun answered.
"Don't you think there must be a reason, and it was for your good?" Jake countered.
"You were not the one who they sent away when you were a kid. You know nothing," Lu Lijun retorted.
"I know everything," Jake spoke, and the other two stared at him.
"I mean, I can see what's going on, and I can understand," Jake corrected himself.
"Don't try to understand it. Just focus on your problems," Lu Lijun argued back.
Though the two mocked each other in a calm tone, anyone could sense the air around them turning cold.
Noah didn't want the two to take it to worse. It was rare when Lu Lijun and Jake would argue badly.
"Stop you guys," Noah commented. "I'm the one who has the right to argue with you two. You can't take my place."
The other two stopped, and Noah asked, "Lijun, just tell us why you are doing this."
Lu Lijun acted as if he didn't get what his friend meant, "Can't I date a girl?"
"Are you dating already?" Noah asked.
"I told others like that," Lu Lijun answered.
The two understood he was not dating.
"Okay you can date, but this doesn't seem right," Noah spoke.
"Lijun," This time Jake called him, and Lu Lijun looked at him.
"Do you really intend to marry her?" Jake looked serious, "Think and then answer."
It looked like Jake knew him better than Lu Lijun knew about himself.
"I didn't think that far," Lu Lijun answered.
"Then think before you act," Jake warned.
Lu Lijun remembered the same words Jiang Yuyan said to him and stayed quiet.
"Don't do anything that will only hurt you, and you will end up regretting it. Don't take it too far that there would be no turning back," Jake added.
Jake wanted to say more, but he didn't. He wished only this much warning was enough for his friend. Lu Lijun was still silent, not reacting to what Jake said.
Just then, food arrived, and Noah spoke to ease the situation, "Let's eat now."
Making their stubborn friend understand things was a difficult task. It worried them to think if they forced him, he will only go away from them to be alone, and it will turn him even worse.
Once they finished eating quietly and Lu Lijun excused himself to pick up the call, Noah talked to Jake.
"Are you in a mood to get into a fight with him?" Noah asked once he was sure Lu Lijun was away and couldn't hear them.
"I will if I need to put some sense in his brain," Jake replied.
Noah sensed something and asked, "You know something about Lijun that I don't know, right? That's why you are like this with him, and you are sure he will regret it."
Jake didn't answer him and spoke, "You too can see he will regret what he is doing."
"Let him regret then. Sometimes, this is the best way," Noah added.
"Are you serious?" Jake exclaimed.
Noah nodded, "Yes. Even I wanted to confront him like you, but I changed my way. When the person is not aware of his own intentions, we should let him face the regrets."
"What if it's too late?" Jake looked worried.
"There is nothing that can't be fixed. What would happen? At max, he will get engaged or married her. It's fine. Either he will continue it or end up getting divorced."
"Divorce? Then what about the girl?" Jake asked.
"She will get her lesson to not fall for the wrong person," Noah replied.
"That girl's life seems to have no value for you," Jake frowned.
"Then what do you expect me to do? Do you want me to offer her my shoulder to cry?"
Jake kicked Noah under the table on his leg.
"Ahh..It hurts you...ass hole..." Noah had painful expressions, but it didn't affect Jake.
Noah continued, "Let him have his way. The more we stop him, the more he will go against it. Let's just support him in what he plans to do. That way, it would be over soon."
Jake agreed to it.
"He will soon realize who he needs in life," Noah commented.
"President Lu will have a tough time of her life," Jake commented.
Noah chuckled, "She is no less. They are perfect for each other." Just then Noah realized something and asked, "So you too are sure he has feelings for president Lu."
"Is it that difficult to guess?" Jake asked and added, "Even my brother can guess it in a moment."
"Brother An Tian sure is smart to notice it," Noah commented.
"Not just my brother but even his brother can see it," said Jake.
"Ohh... brother Feng. He sure cares for Lijun a lot. I envy you two to get such love from your brother."
"I am here to give you a love," said Jake, and Noah glared at him.
"....I mean care and love like a brother," Jake corrected himself.
"Don't make me puke now," Noah said, and he noticed Lu Lijun coming back.
"He is back," Noah informed.
Lu Lijun returned and glared at his two friends, knowing they must be talking something.
"Anything urgent?" Noah asked, and Lu Lijun took time on call.
"Nothing much," he replied.
"Another date with Ms. Wen?" Noah commented. He knew his friend well and could guess his next step.
Lu Lijun didn't answer and turned to leave, "Let's go. Your big boss has given us a lot of work to do."
Noah and Jake stood up and followed him.
"Be ready to get another hot news tomorrow," Noah whispered to Jake.
"Let him enjoy all the attention," Jake replied.
