When Lu Lijun left, no one knew it except for Noah, Jake, Liwei, and An Tian. No one knew where he went. His two friends and An Tian were relieved that the stubborn guy finally got his brain on the right track.
It was the time for Liwei and Lu Lijun to be in the venue hall, and soon the engagement ceremony would start.
Liwei's mother came to her room, "It's time we should leave."
Liwei, who sat in the chair in front of the dresser, didn't react.
Mrs. Wen looked around, "Where are your friends and cousins?"
"I sent them out," Liwei replied.
Mrs. Wen noticed Liwei was silent and went to her, "Are you not feeling well? It must have been anxiety before....."
"I am fine, mother."
"Let's go then. everyone is waiting."
"We can't proceed with this engagement."
It startled Mrs. Wen. "What do you mean?"
"Lu Lijun and I realized we don't love each other. We decided it in haste," Liwei replied, not daring to look at her mother.
"What are you saying, Liwei?" It freaked out Mrs. Wen.
"Exactly what mother understood."
"How...." Mrs. Wen had no words to say, "Don't tell me you are pulling a prank on me."
Liwei finally looked at her mother, "I am serious, mother." Liwei pulled out the necklace in her neck and put it on the dresser.
Mrs. Wen turned worried and anxious.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Wen Zac and Mr. Wen entered the room.
"Let me see how my sister is looking today," said Wen Zac while Mr. Wen stood there ready to see his adorable daughter.
Tho two ladies were silent, and the men didn't fail to notice it.
"Did something happen?" Wen Zac asked, seeing how silent his sister was, so unlike her.
"This engagement can't happen," Liwei answered.
It startled the two, and Mr. Wen asked, "What do you mean?"
"Just what father heard," Liwei replied calmly.
Mr. Wen turned angry, "Do you think it's a joke? Do you know what you are even saying?"
"I understand, father, but it can't happen," Liwei was still calm, even though her father turned angry.
She knew there was no use of anything, and she could do nothing. She can only bear the consequences created by her and Lu Lijun's hasty decisions.
Wen Zac spoke, "Calm down, father," and Liwei, "What happened?"
"We understood we don't love each other, and the decision was a mistake," Liwei replied, looking at her brother.
Though she tried to maintain calm and acted as if she was fine, her eyes told Wen Zac what she said was not the complete truth. She looked hurt and tried to hide it.
"Do you want to tell me something?" he asked, giving her an assuring sight.
Liwei shook her head lightly and, as her sight passed across her father quickly.
Wen Zac understood what he should and spoke, "If you don't want it, we can't force you. It's good that you two realized it early."
"Where is Lu Lijun," Mr. Wen asked. "Did he come here?"
Lewei couldn't lie, "We talked just a while ago."
Mr. Wen stepped out of the room and called Lu Jinhai. "Where are you?"
Getting an answer, Mr. Wen went to Lu Jinhai. Wen Zac patted his sister's head, "I'll be back," and followed his father in a hurry.
Wen Zac caught up with his father, "Father, it was Liwei and Lu Lijun who decided it. I hope you won't blame it on your friend.
"I just want to see Lu Lijun," Mr. Wen replied, and Lu Jinhai needs to know what his son did."
"Even Liwei doesn't want to do it, so there is no point in blaming him alone," Wen Zav explained as the two entered the elevator.
"He was the one to decide everything when we all warned him to take his time. All the guests are here and waiting for us. Do you even know how it will affect Liwei?"
"We can release a statement saying both decided not to do it, and it was an immature decision taken by them in haste."
"It won't solve anything. I need to get an answer from him. I liked him for Liwei, but it was not like he was the only man for my daughter. No one forced him to," Mr. Wen said coldly as they stepped out of the elevator.
"Father..."
"All along, I was wrong about him," Mr. Wen sighed disappointingly.
Wen Zac could say nothing as he knew how much his father loved Liwei.
When Mr. Wen entered the floor, Jiang Yuyan stepped out on the same floor from another elevator. She was still in her office attire as she was finally free from the things she was busy dealing with.
Jiang Yuyan greeted them with a slight nod and noticed Mr. Wen looked upset.
"Is there something wrong?" she asked.
Before Mr. Wen could answer, Wen Zac spoke, "Liwei and Lu Lijun decided to cancel this engagement."
It shocked Jiang Yuyan. Before she could get out of it, Mr. Wen spoke."
"I am sure it's his decision alone," Mr. Wen corrected his son.
"Father, we can solve it calmly."
"I'm calm, or you know my anger," said Mr. Wen.
Jiang Yuyan bowed to them apologetically. "I will talk to Lu Lijun."
"Only if he is here," Mr. Wen commented.
"President Lu, don't worry about it," Wen Zac apologized for his father's reaction. But Jiang Yuyan could understand it. After all, it was about his precious daughter.
Lu Jinhai came out of his room being ready in new clothes and unaware of what his son had done.
"Father, where is Lu Lijun?" Jiang Yuyan asked.
"He must be getting ready in his room," Lu Jinhai replied.
Jiang Yuyan left to go to his room as she already knew which one was booked for the groom.
She knocked on the door, and Noah opened it for her. He stepped back and let her in, knowing why she must be there.
She entered the room," Where is Lu Lijun?"
"He left," Noah answered.
"Left? Where?" Jiang Yuyan asked.
"Not sure."
"What happened suddenly he left like this?" Jiang Yuyan asked and looked at the other two. Seeing them not ready in new clothes, Jiang Yuyan understood these already three knew it would happen.
An Tian went to her, "He didn't want to get engaged."
"That's what I am asking. What happened for him to back out of it?" Jiang Yuyan asked as she raised her voice. She was sure they knew the reason but weren't telling her.
"That you should ask him personally," An Tian replied.
"That I'll do for sure." Saying angrily, she left.
"Once she knows the reason, it will bring a bigger chaos," An Tian spoke.
"I am feeling worried for him now," Noah said.
"Where can he go? He turned off his cellphone, so we can't even go to him." Jake sighed.
"Don't worry. She will find him wherever he goes," An Tian commented.
Jiang Yuyan went to her room and dialed San Zemin's number.
"Find out where Lu Lijun had gone and tell me immediately," she ordered.
