Pitter patter- pitter patter!!
As the melodious sound of hasty raindrops made it impossible to hear anything around, Lu Lijun continued staring at the darkness blankly and lacking any emotions in his eyes.
He still wore the same clothes in which he had left the hotel, a white shirt, and black pants. The sleeves folded up to his elbows while his hands tucked into his pant pockets, the undone top buttons of his shirt showed the toned chest apparent between the folds of white silk. A black jacket lay across one semicircular bench.
His features best described as sharp with a pointed nose, deep black eyes, strong jawline, and thin, attractive lips. His skin fair and looked radiant, reflecting the meager amount of light emanating from the dim lights hung in the gazebo.
His frame conveyed strength. His black hair damp and messy because of the rain and hung down over his eyes. His face was expressionless as he stared off into the dark. His eyes blinked, but it was a slow, emotionless flutter of eyelashes.
"Lu Lijun!"
Someone called him, but he didn't wish to recognize it, thinking it was his imagination and this chaotic sound of rain made his ear imagine that voice.
'How can she be here when she doesn't even care for me? I must have heard it wrong,' he thought.
"Lu Lijun!"
He heard the same voice again, and this time it didn't stop at only calling his name. The voice had an angry and annoyed tone.
"Do you have any idea how worried everyone is? They are all searching for you. Let's go back."
'It's her,' he concluded silently.
Jiang Yuyan continued talking and confronting him angrily, but because of the sound of rain, not a single word could reach his ears clearly except for the last line- "Let's go back."
"I don't want to," he replied without even looking at the woman who stood behind him, drenched in the rain and shivering to her bones.
His lack of virtue made her blood boil. "Then what do you want to do?" She breathed heavily before letting a tirade loose upon him.
Still, he didn't react to what she said, but his mind continued to answer in silence that only he heard. 'I want you.'
"OK! Let it be then. I'm not here to handle your tantrums. I have a monstrous headache because of your childish behavior. Just answer my question so I can explain it to the others. Why did you walk out of your engagement at the last moment? Tell me!"
'You are the answer to everything,' his mind answered again.
He stood motionless, no reply, no apology, not even an explanation. His stubbornness irritated her.
A litany of accusations spewed from her mouth, "How can you do this to Liwei? Do you know how much it must hurt her? If you didn't want to marry her, why did you agree to it in the first place? Why did you give her false hope? And what about Father? How can you make him lower his head in front of everyone? Do you know what Mr. Wen will do now?"
'I don't care as long as you are with me,' he thought again.
When she finished, there was only the sound of her heavy breathing, the rain, and the wind rustling the leaves. She was in disbelief for a minute. Her breath quickened as time passed, and she began shouting again, disturbing the tranquil surroundings.
"Lu Lijun! I need an answer. What's in your head? What are you thinking to act so recklessly? Why are you like this? Just tell me, why did you do that? Why?"
Lu Lijun finally turned to look at her.
Taking one step forward as he stared into her eyes, he answered calmly, "Because I love you, Yuyan."
He continued staring at her as if he said nothing wrong while she got the shock of her life as she stepped back and stood, taking the support of the pillar.
She was shocked, but all he could see was the woman in front of him who he loved, and nothing mattered to him.
Being blinded by the sudden realization of his feelings, he couldn't see how shocked and angry she was as his eyes just sought for her glimpse regardless of whether she loved him or hated him.
"What did you just say? Are you out of your mind? Are you crazy? How can y-"
He didn't wish to hear anything but to get her in his embrace, at least for ones and strode towards her. Before she could finish confronting him, he grabbed her hands, pinned her against the pillar, and kissed her.
"Are... you... crazy?" she asked, trying to push him away and not to let him kiss her.
Just as she asked him if he is crazy, he wished to go crazy for her and show her what he is.
Continuing to kiss, he thought, 'Yes I am crazy for you and can never stop this craziness.'
Capturing her moist, soft lips in his, he continued to suck and nibble them, holding her steady in the place. All he could feel was her but not her emotions.
She kept pushing him away, but he continued what he wanted to. All he wanted was her only for him.
Her strength was nothing in front of him while being drenched in rain and feeling cold, made her weaker.
When he felt she lost her strength, finally he parted away only to ask her, "Why? Am I not allowed to go crazy for you?"
Catching her breath, her hands still held tightly by him, she glared at him but before she could say a word, he kissed her again, thinking. 'I don't need your permission to go crazy for you. You are mine for a long time.'
The passion he possessed seemed to engulf her completely. He kissed her harshly ready to savor her completely, letting everything out that he felt for her.
