Chapter 44 Fever
Gu Chu sneered in her heart.
Who was she mocking?
She did not want to waste any more time with Gu Wan. She pinched the space between her eyebrows and looked at Feng Jia. Her voice was a little weak. “I think I have a fever. I feel dizzy.”
It was only then that everyone noticed that Gu Chu was not wearing any makeup, but her face was strangely red as if she was blushing. She did not look very energetic either.
No wonder she did not speak the entire way. She was actually tired.
Feng Jia walked up to her and touched her forehead. It was very hot. “You do have a fever. When did it start? Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
It was probably when she woke up in the morning. When she had just taken the photo and leaned against the rock, she felt a little dizzy. She thought that she could hold on until the foot of the mountain, but she couldn’t any longer.
She grunted and said what Gu Wan had just said, “Is it because I’m heavy and it’s inconvenient for you to carry me? Besides, my feet are fine, so I can walk down the mountain slowly.”
Gu Wan: “…”
Her face turned green and purple.
Feng Jia was not in the mood to joke with her. This little vixen had been feeling unwell since she had gone up the mountain. Only now did she mention it.
He pulled Gu Chu onto his back.
Lu Shen frowned even more. “Let’s hurry down the mountain. Wang Xiao, get someone to inform the doctor to wait at the villa. Prepare the fever medicine and the ointment for the sprain.”
Wang Xiao acknowledged it.
He and Meng Lang each held Gu Chu and Gu Wan respectively, and the otherthree girls walked at the back, taking care of each other.
Ever since Gu Chu got on Feng Jia’s back, her head felt like a balloon that had been blown up. It swelled and shrank, and she felt uncomfortable.
She buried her head into his neck, trying to tease him to ease her headache. “Feng Jia, your back is so comfortable. Can you sing a song for me?”
Feng Jia’s footsteps were steady, and her breathing was a little hurried. “You have a fever, you’re not insane.”
Gu Chu was instantly furious. He couldn’t be bothered to coax her seeing her like this?
She lowered her eyes and looked at his ear. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. Ignoring Wang Xiao beside her, she bit him.
His ear was a more sensitive part of his body. Being bitten by her wet lips, he immediately stopped in his tracks. He endured it for a while and said coldly, “If you continue to cause trouble, I won’t carry you anymore. You can walk down on your own!”
Gu Chu was reluctant. She hooked her arms around his neck, as if she was afraid that he would throw her down and said, “Who insisted on being in the bathtub yesterday? I already said that I couldn’t take it anymore. It’s easy for me to catch a cold. Now that I’ve caught a cold, you want to abandon me! You scum!”
Wang Xiao: “…”
Why don’t I switch places with Meng Lang and help Gu Wan instead?
“You can’t even sing for me now. You weren’t like this when we were doing it. You kept calling me baby!” Gu Chu continued to vent.
She knew that Wang Xiao never gossiped.
Feng Jia raised his eyebrows and threatened her, “If you keep talking, I’ll throw you into the ditch and let you see what a real jerk is!”
Gu Chu finally behaved herself. She buried her head in his neck again, gritting her teeth in a low voice.
Although it was already autumn, climbing a mountain was an extremely draining activity. They were all sweating.
Feng Jia was also sweating. She reached out to scratch his chin and wiped the sweat off him. She called out to him, “Feng Jia.”
He ignored her.
She called out again, “Feng Jia.”
“Behave yourself.”
Gu Chu pursed her lips. “Why don’t you build a zipline? The next time we want to see the sunrise, we won’t even have to walk up the mountain.”
Feng Jia ignored her again.
Gu Chu snorted and fell asleep on his shoulder.
In the wind, she heard a soft hum.
An hour later, they finally went down the mountain.
The car was waiting at the foot of the mountain. Lu Shen placed Gu Wan on the seat and positioned her foot. He immediately turned around to look at Gu Chu.
He helped Feng Jia put Gu Chu down. Even though there were a few layers of clothes between them, he could still feel the heat on her body.
Meng Lang could not hide his worry anymore. He touched her forehead and her face. “Did Chuchu pass out? Oh god, should we send her to the hospital?”
Feng Jia said in a low voice, “Let the doctor in the villa take a look first. If it doesn’t work, we’ll send her to the hospital.”
The villa was more than an hour’s drive away from the hospital. It was a weekend, and it was easy to get stuck in traffic. With this delay, who knew what time it would be when they reached the hospital.
Feng Jia got into the car and sat beside Gu Chu. She rested her head on his shoulder.
Lu Shen took off his coat and handed it to Feng Jia, afraid that the wind would get stronger.
Feng Jia took it and covered Gu Chu.
