Chapter 434 - Forced Cohabitation? (1)

Then she looked at Mu Sijue and found that the distress in his eyes had turned into the desire to possess her.

Xu Youning couldn’t know better what the look was indicating.

In Mu Sijue’s eyes at that moment, she was like his quarry.

With those in mind, Xu Youning opened the door and rushed away.

Aunt Zhou had gotten her a room next to Mu Sijue’s. As soon as she rushed into her room, she slid her back along the wall and sat on the floor. Only then did she find that her heart was racing as if it would jump out through her throat.

She thought, “D*mn! I’ve been in love with Mu Sijue for a long time. Why do I feel this way?”

Xu Youning fell asleep with annoyance that night. The next day when she woke up, she heard some noises downstairs in the Old House.

She went downstairs and saw three old men sitting in the living room, which had been desolate.

They were of the same age, in neat and clean old-fashioned clothes. She could tell from their faces that they had experienced many vicissitudes of life, and she could tell from their behaviors that they shared a spirit which was as laudable as Mu Sijue’s.

The old man sitting in the middle of the three looked like Ah Guang. Xu Youning heard Ah Guang call him “dad”.

As the host, Mu Sijue was in a casual suit sitting in an armchair across from the three old men, with a courteous look on his face that used to look frosty.

Xu Youning intuitively thought that there might be a long story between the Mu family and the three old men, especially Ah Guang’s father.

Mu Sijue, Ah Guang, Ah Guang’s father… Xu Youning felt something strange.

Before she could figure it out, Ah Guang noticed her and waved his hand toward her. “Sister Youning, come here.”

Xu Youning roused herself, smiled and walked downstairs.

Ah Guang introduced her to the three old men with enthusiasm. “This is Uncle Yang. The one next to him is Uncle Ji, and this is my dad. They are all here to visit Seventh Brother.”

Xu Youning politely greeted the three old men, then she reservedly said, “You may go on with your talk. I’ll make tea.”

“Be seated.” Mu Sijue flatly ordered Xu Youning. “Uncle Yang wants to talk with you.”

It surprised Xu Youning. Then she replied “oh” and gracefully sat in the armchair next to Mu Sijue.

From Mu Sijue’s attitude, she could tell that the three old men were honored. In her eyes, they might not be the sort of high IQ person like Mu Sijue, but they were more rigorous and experienced than him. If she behaved nervously with a bashful face, she would be easily seen through.

She knew she had to act courteously with calmness.

Uncle Yang smiled and waved his hand. “Sijue, you’re too serious. That will frighten Miss Xu.” Then he looked at Xu Youning and said, “Youning, Ah Guang told me about what happened yesterday. I want to thank you. If it were not for you, Sijue’s injury may have been discovered.”

Ah Guang’s father said, “In that case, half of City G will be in disorder.”

Xu Youning smiled and said, “It’s what I should do if he is in trouble.”

“His injury needs to be taken care of, but we can’t call the doctor here these days.” Uncle Ji said, “Youning, it’s counting on you now. We’ve known of your grandmother and we’ll look after her. Just take it easy and stay here.”

Xu Youning nodded and said, “Uncle Ji, thank you.”

“That’s it.” Ah Guang’s father stood up and said, “We old bones must leave now, or Zhao Yinghong will be suspicious of us.”

Ah Guang and Xu Youning followed the three old men out, with only Mu Sijue left in the living room.

After a night’s rest, Mu Sijue looked the same as he used to be. He leisurely sat in the armchair; anyone who didn’t know the fact would never believe that there was a deep wound in his chest.

He stared at Xu Youning’s back while his eyes shining with something.

His three uncles were visiting him beyond his expectation so he couldn’t stop them. Even if Xu Youning was obtuse, she should have noticed something when she knew the relationship between Ah Guang’s father and the Mu family.

And then, all that was due in the future would happen one day.

Although Mu Sijue knew that day would come sooner or later, he had never expected that things would suddenly go out of his control in a short time.

Outside, Xu Youning watched Ah Guang and those uncles walk far away, then she turned and went into the house.

The strange feeling when she saw Ah Guang’s father had been put behind her.

She didn’t find Mu Sijue in the living room; instead, she saw him in the dining room.

Mu Sijue had made himself a cup of coffee; before he could take a sip, Xu Youning ran over to him and snatched the cup from his hand.

Mu Sijue gave Xu Youning a dissatisfied glance; however, before he could lose his temper, Xu Youning said, “How dare you drink coffee when you’re injured? I’ve wanted you to get better soon so that I can leave here!”

Mu Sijue playfully asked, “Oh? Is that really so?”

“…” Only then did Xu Youning realize that she shouldn’t have said that. She covered her mouth with her hands at once, though it was useless.

“D*mn! What did I say?! A tricky man like Mu Sijue won’t give what I want. I shouldn’t have said that to him! He will make me stay for months!” She thought.

“I didn’t mean that!” Xu Youning shook her head as if it was a rattle. She humbled herself and said, “Seventh Brother, now that you’re here, I won’t go anywhere!”

“If so,” Mu Sijue said, holding a glass with milk in it. “You just live here. Without my permission, you can’t move out.”

“Boom—”

Xu Youning felt like having been whacked on the head. Because it was not she had wanted and she didn’t want to live there at all!

She was confused. “Why? I’ve thought Mu Sijue would drive me away at once!”

“Seventh Brother…” Xu Youning said in a gentle voice to soften Mu Sijue up.

However, Mu Sijue didn’t fall for it. He pushed a glass of milk before her with a stony face and said, “Go to the company with me after breakfast.”

Xu Youning couldn’t stand being slaved; she angrily pushed the milk away and said, “Why…”

“Xu Youning,” said Mu Sijue. He motioned as a warning and said, “It’s your work.”

“…” Xu Youning lost her tongue at once because she had to agree on it. She broke the bread as if it was Mu Sijue and popped it into her mouth.

After the breakfast, the driver drove Mu Sijue and Xu Youning to the MJ Technology.

With Mu Sijue absent for those many days, there had been piles of work to be done in the company. A major conference was scheduled after five minutes, so he walked directly toward the conference room followed by Xu Youning.

When Xu Youning figured out his destination, she stopped outside the conference room and said, “Seventh Brother, I’m here waiting for you.”

Mu Sijue frowned and said, “Follow me.”

“Can I?” Xu Youning replied with a reluctant look on her face. She thought that she wasn’t an employee of that company, and at the same time she wasn’t Mu Sijue’s relative. “Isn’t that weird if I follow him?”

Mu Sijue frowned more deeply, which indicated that he was about to lose his patience. He said, “Don’t waste my time. Come with me!”

“…” Xu Youning didn’t have the courage to resist while cursing Mu Sijue as well as his forebears in mind. Then she lowered her head and followed him into the conference room.

After she sat down, Xu Youning noticed a shared look of those men and women in suits: surprised.

“Hey, haven’t they gotten used to their handsome boss?” She thought.

“Well, I have!”

Xu Youning didn’t realize that the employees present were surprised at the way Mu Sijue treated her.

In the company, Mu Sijue had always been poker-faced. He had the absolute authority, and he was completely indifferent. Even if he was dissatisfied with someone’s work, he would simply ask the person to revise or to quit.

Mu Sijue rarely showed his feelings, so it was impossible to tell whether he was glad or not from his micro-expressions.

However, when Mu Sijue was with Xu Youning, all his feelings could be read from his looks because he didn’t mind her knowing whether he was happy or not.

He didn’t even notice it when he was bossy to Xu Youning, his voice sounded like full of a desire to possess her.

As Mu Sijue’s assistant announced the meeting, those in suits stopped gossiping in their minds and immersed themselves in the work.

The MJ Technology owned by Mu Sijue was full of technology veterans, whose speeches at the conference were all Greek to Xu Youning because she knew nothing about technology. Her mind was filled up with questions when she saw the demonstration effects on the screen.

Before long, she subconsciously looked away and stared at Mu Sijue’s face—

Mu Sijue was sitting in the center position with his arms crossed over his chest, slightly tilting his head to watch the screen; his finely chiseled features made him look even wiser and more unperturbed.

He was like the backbone of that company, in which everything would be in order if he was there.

Gradually, Xu Youning was immersed in his handsome look. As a result, she didn’t notice it when Mu Sijue’s assistant declared the meeting closed, while the others all noticed that she was staring at Mu Sijue.

Mu Sijue’s informed assistant motioned for the others to keep silent and led them out of the conference room quietly.

Only when she saw the napkin Mu Sijue handed to her did Xu Youning come to herself. She replied “huh?”, looking at him in bewilderment.

Mu Sijue said, “You’re slavering. Dry it.”

Xu Youning didn’t believe Mu Sijue’s words. She pushed his hand aside only to find that there were only he and she left in the conference room, so she asked in bewilderment, “Have they all gone?”

Mu Sijue leaned back and said, “They don’t want to disturb you.”

“Disturb me?” With that, Xu Youning did a double take. “Did they think that I was watching you?”

Mu Sijue smiled and said, “Wasn’t you?”

Xu Youning snorted and said, “I’ve been tired of watching you for 800 times a day, you know? I was watching the demonstration!”

“Oh?” Mu Sijue asked, “So, what do you think of it?”

Xu Youning felt embarrassed because she was watching Mu Sijue’s face instead of the screen.

She was Xu Youning, not anyone who couldn’t handle that situation.

She snorted and frankly said, “I didn’t understand!”

That was Xu Youning’s style, and Mu Sijue wasn’t surprised to hear that answer. He stood up and said, “Go to my office half an hour later.”

“Half an hour?” She thought.

Xu Youning counted by her fingers, realizing that it could be her free time, after which she would return to Mu Sijue to be enslaved.

How to spend the half an hour was a question.
