Chapter 469 - Either You or I Die

Xu Youning looked as if she had heard an extremely hilarious joke. She coldly smiled and then slowly said, “Mu Sijue, you took away my phone and left me out of reach. After I woke up, you told me that everything was just a nightmare and prevented me from calling my grandma. It was such a coincidence. Now you’re telling me that there’s a loophole?”

“You did so many things to get me away from City G and isolated me from the outside. Did you want to take revenge by using grandma’s death? By not letting me have the last chance to see her? Tell me where the loophole is!”

By the end, Xu Youning couldn’t control her own emotions.

Looking at her, Mu Sijue wore an ironic smile on his lips. “So, you are sure that I planned your grandma’s death ahead of time. You want to avenge your grandma by killing me?”

At that moment, Mu Sijue wanted to pinch Xu Youning to get her back to her senses.

If he really wanted to take Xu Youning to a deserted place and cut off her connection with the outside world, why would he take her back to the island at noon the previous day? Why would he tell her to call Auntie Sun in the diner?

Xu Youning seemed to have ignored those things. She bit her teeth and said firmly, “Mu Sijue, either I kill you or you kill me today!

Then, she quickly took action and fought with Mu Sijue again.

She successfully pissed Mu Sijue off, so he started fighting back with full strength.

Outside of the office, Ah Guang and a bunch of brothers were guarding the area. When they heard the noise, all of them held their breaths to listen.

After hearing the fighting noise for quite a while, a brother standing by Ah Guang opened his mouth. “Sister Youning is really resistant…”

It was known that even strong men like them couldn’t fight against Mu Sijue for such a long time, not to mention a skinny little girl like Xu Youning.

Someone added with some meaning smilingly, “Just think about whose follower she is. The characteristics of Kang Ruicheng’s followers are resistance and courage.”

“You’re so knowledgeable!” Ah Guang kicked the man, “Shut up! Listen to what’s happening inside!”

“Ah Guang…” The man looked at Ah Guang and his tone sounded dubious, “You are deeply trusted by Seventh Brother and have a close relationship with Xu Youning. I’m quite curious about whom you are more worried about at this moment. Seventh Brother, or your Sister Youning?”

“What sister!” Ah Guang slapped heavily on the man’s head. “We now know she’s Kang Ruicheng’s spy and you keep calling her sister. Are you crazy?”

Ah Guang didn’t answer who he was more concerned about, but from his attitude, it was no different than telling them whom he supported. The bunch of brothers obediently shut their mouths.

Right at that moment, the noise stopped and the door of the office was opened. They all looked inside curiously and found that Xu Youning’s hands were cuffed and she was taken out by Mu Sijue.

Instantly, the whole place was lost in a complete and weird silence.

The fact that Xu Youning couldn’t defeat Mu Sijue didn’t surprise Ah Guang. But he still felt nervous when he saw Xu Youning having been caught by Mu Sijue.

Mu Sijue seemed careless about it. He coldly pushed Xu Youning to Ah Guang. “Lock her up. You should prepare to run too if she runs away.”

Then, Mu Sijue walked away directly without taking a second look at Xu Youning.

Ah Guang signaled the others. “You should follow Seventh Brother.”

In their minds, Ah Guang was the one they respected most apart from Mu Sijue. In such weird circumstances, they could only follow Ah Guang’s lead, so they quickly retreated.

Ah Guang’s face then looked smoother. He took a look at Xu Youning’s cuff. “Sister Youning…”

“Don’t look at me with that sympathetic expression,” Xu Youning interrupted Ah Guang expressionlessly. “Tell me, what is Mu Sijue going to do with me?”

Ah Guang kept silent for a while and then a sign of grimness appeared in his eyes. “Seventh Brother will deal with you in secret.”

It wasn’t a surprising answer, so Xu Youning showed no panic. She smiled instead. “Really? Which means will he adopt?”

“Maybe he’ll shoot you and let you die quickly. Or…” Ah Guang stopped for a minute and then continued, “He will lock you up for some time.”

Xu Youning thought for a minute and completed Ah Guang’s unfinished sentence, “During the period he locks me up, he will try every means to torture me and get useful information from me, right?”

Ah Guang nodded with hesitation, “Yes.”

“…”

“…”

“Ah Guang,” After a long period of silence, Xu Youning suddenly stared at Ah Guang seriously, “Now that you know I’m spy, why aren’t you angry or interrogating me?”

Ah Guang stayed quiet for quite a while and then said, “Because you haven’t actually gotten anything.”

“…”

“Seventh Brother discovered your identity after a while. Then he took advantage of you, while you were also being punished by Kang Ruicheng all the time. Besides…” Ah Guang looked at Xu Youning and slowly said, “Maybe Seventh Brother forgot it. But I remember that you saved his life once.”

That time, Mu Sijue and Xu Youning were in City A and were followed by Kang Ruicheng.

That time, even though Kang Ruicheng couldn’t kill Mu Sijue, he could have the chance to leave Mu Sijue seriously injured.

But, Xu Youning pushed Mu Sijue away from the wheels and suffered all the harm on her own.

When discovering Xu Youning was the spy, Ah Guang almost broke down. But he forgot about it after thinking off all those experiences.

Xu Youning didn’t get anything from Mu Sijue except for all kinds of wounds. Now she had even lost the last relative she had in the world.

Instead, he felt that Xu Youning… was a bit pitiful.

Xu Youning turned around to avoid Ah Guang’s eyes. “Why are you still so naive? Just like the last time when I was kidnapped by Kang Ruicheng, it was just a show!”

Ah Guang shook his head, “I don’t believe you. Who will risk her life to improve a show?”

Xu Youning just smiled and gave no explanation. She just asked, “Where is Mu Sijue planning to put me in?”

“…Right here.”

Ah Guang lead Xu Youning to the elevator. He pressed several numbers and then the lift started going down.

Xu Youning had been here a lot and knew the structure of the place very well. From the ten floors above the ground to the first floor underground, there was no place to imprison anyone.

Where was Ah Guang going to take her to?

Having observed carefully, Xu Youning realized none of the numbers which presented floors was lit.

She suddenly understood, “There’s a second floor underground?”

Ah Guang agreed. “It wasn’t drawn in the construction paper and it’s not displayed in the elevator, either. So only a few know the secret. Because… all the others who have known about it died later.”

Xu Youning thought for a minute and then smiled, “You want to tell me that once I’m in the second floor underground, there is no hope to get out alive?”

“…I want to tell you that you better not try to escape by yourself. The security system here was developed by Seventh Brother and it can’t be cracked even by the most excellent hacker. You can only leave if Seventh Brother agrees to it.” After a second, Ah Guang continued solemnly, “But, Sister Youning, I will help you.”

“Do you want me to beg for forgiveness from Mu Sijue?” Xu Youning lowered her head and looked at the cuffs on her hands. Her voice sounded sad, “You still don’t know him after such a long time? Now that he locked me up, it means my life is over.”

There was a camera in the elevator so Ah Guang couldn’t say too much. He licked his lips and repeated, “Sister Youning, I’ll help you.”

Xu Youning stared at Ah Guang for a minute and understood what he meant.

Her plan was to cause a scene there, revealing that she was a spy and was against Mu Sijue to everyone. Then she could find a chance to escape.

Ah Guang not only understood her plan but also intended to help her escape.

“Ah Guang, you overestimated me.” Xu Youning leaned against the wall of the elevator and looked careless, “Just like Mu Sijue said, I’m seeking for death here today. If I still wanted to live through this, I wouldn’t have come here to find Mu Sijue. I would have left the country.”

At that moment, the elevator reached the second floor underground. The elevator door opened slowly and the sensor lights were turned on subsequently.

But Ah Guang just remained still in the elevator and stared at Xu Youning, in complete shock. “Sister Youning…” He couldn’t believe Xu Youning had just given up her life so easily.

“There’s nothing to be confused about.” Xu Youning shrugged. “At least I had my grandma when she was still alive. But now, I have no friends or relatives. I don’t want to live on knowing that my grandma died because of me. But before she died, she said she wanted me to live. So I can only make Mu Sijue kill me.”

“…” Ah Guang couldn’t say anything for quite a while.

As he saw it, Xu Youning was very prudent with her life. She always said how long she wanted to live and what she wanted to do.

But now, she desperately told him that she didn’t have anything and that she didn’t want this life anymore.

The biggest sorrow was truly the death of a heart.

“Let’s go.” Xu Youning got out of the elevator first. “You have to go back and report it to Mu Sijue later. It might get you into trouble of you waste too much time here.”

Ah Guang showed Xu Youning the way. “It’s the room at the end.”

Xu Youning replied with an “en” and walked directly to the end.

On the surface, she seemed careless. But in fact, her eyes kept observing every corner of that floor.

It was like a prison but the equipment there was so much sturdier when compared to normal prisons.

As you entered the elevator, your eyes would be scanned and your face would be identified. As you left the elevator, you had to go through many obstacles; once you made a mistake, the elevator would be stopped and sealed until Mu Sijue restarted it in person. Otherwise, not even a mosquito could fly out, not to mention a human being.

Xu Youning thought for a moment that Mu Sijue was a real pervert. How could she escape then? If she couldn’t, how could she continue with her plan?

Damn it!
