Rhodes lifted his head and looked in the direction of the entrance. Something was wrong! He heard the growlings of zombies, and the sounds were drawing closer and closer! He had killed the zombies in the surroundings when he had returned earlier. Although he had let a few zombies in the safe house's surroundings survive to deter other survivors from approaching, these few zombies would not approach the safe house as long as they did not make loud noises and there was no obvious smell of blood.

There was no heavy stench of blood nor was there any loud noise… So why did the zombies come?

Rhodes found a piece of tissue paper and wiped the corners of Julie's lips as he said, "All of you stay here and protect Julie. I'm going out to see what's going on!"

Due to the special ability, Poison Control, Ira, Beth, and Emma had no choice but to obey Rhodes' words.

Emma stood guard at the door while Ira and Beth stood around Julie to protect her. Since Rhodes had ordered them to protect Julie, they would obey his words to the last letter. Unless they died, they would not allow Julie to get hurt.

Upon sensing this, Rhodes was very satisfied. "If only there were more beautiful zombies like this!"

He thought about using his points to level up the special ability, Poison Control. However, the thought was fleeting. He had a vague feeling that the new ability, Elementary Metal Molecule Manipulation, would not disappoint him. Moreover, he might even be surprised by it.

When Rhodes went out, he saw the few zombies he had intentionally spared slowly walking toward him. However, he could clearly see their speed was faster compared to a few days ago.

He activated Insight.

"Huh? They've evolved into level-three zombies overnight?" He chuckled when he saw the zombies' changes. They were just level-three zombies so he could easily deal with them.

Rhodes rushed forward. With just three slashes from his knife, the three zombies died.

After being bitten by his zombie girlfriend and his three female slaves for the entire night, his attributes had reached 130 points each. It was 13 times higher than that of ordinary people!

These zombies were only slightly faster than ordinary people, and their strength was about three times that of ordinary people. Moreover, their attacks were random and driven by instincts, holding no thoughts behind them. For Rhodes who had killed countless zombies, it was simply too easy to deal with them.

After he dug out the energy crystals, he held them in his hand and studied them.

He activated Insight again.

One of the energy crystals was, indeed, different. It was a level-three energy crystal similar to the level-three zombie it belonged to.

A thought suddenly appeared in his mind. 'Did this mean higher level zombies have a higher chance of possessing similarly high-level energy crystals? With higher-level energy crystals, would Julie be able to level up faster?'

With this thought in mind, he ordered Ira, Beth, and Emma to continue protecting Julie and told them no one was to open the door except for him. After giving the orders, he rushed down the stairs again.

When he arrived at the street, it was just as he had expected. There were many zombies from level one to level three. He even saw a level-five zombie! Naturally, there were more level-one zombies compared to the others.

A faint smile appeared on his face as he looked at the zombies. The higher the level of a zombie, the faster Julie would be able to level up!

He felt slightly excited as well. This time, he remembered to test out his new special ability, Elementary Metal Molecule Manipulation.

In just an instant, he felt something stir in his mind. When he opened his eyes, the world seemed a little different. No, it seemed like he had become different.

He lowered his head and looked at the knife in his hand. In the next moment, the knife levitated and hovered in front of him.

Under Rhodes' control, the knife shot out swiftly, looking like a streak of silver light as it easily pierced through a zombie's head.

Just like that, the zombie died and fell to the ground.

Rhodes waved his hand and willed the knight to fly behind him.

It felt as though his mind was connected to the knife, and he could control it at will.

"Elementary Metal Molecule Manipulation? Isn't this the ability of Magneto from X-men?"

After discovering the general use of the new special ability, he called up the system interface in his mind.
