The Spirit King and Cicerius (3)

After that, the Spirit King, Grandma Cicerius, and everyone continued chatting.

They discussed the wondrous things the Spirit King had experienced, the strange sights Old Lady Cicerius had seen, and their thoughts on Layla’s vision of the world. They also discussed me, Lefi, Nell’s country, Lyuu’s village, and Rir and his family’s life in the forest.

The conversation was lively and continued endlessly while I took care of Riou, Sakuya, and Setsu.

Eating sweets and drinking good tea, chatting with those who know you well.

What fun it was to spend time talking about these seemingly innocuous things that we would have forgotten by tomorrow.

“Ha-aha, so that’s how they beat up your husband!” (Cicerius)

“Yes, he is a fool, isn’t he? We’re all living in fear that this trait of him will be passed on to our children.” (Lefi)

“He looks solid, but there’s something missing that worries me when he’s out and about.” (Nell)

“Well, when he’s looking out for Illuna and the others, he’s a very firm man!” (Lyuu)

“When he is with Rir and the others, I feel relieved because he was not alone...” (Layla)

[Kuku... based on what they are saying though...] (Spirit King)

“...no comment.” (Yuki)

As the group of adults were talking, the door to the room was opened with a bang.

“”We’re home!”” (Little Girls)

“...I’m home!” (Enne)

The girls have returned.

After the three of them spoke, the Wraith Girls also waved their hands in our direction.

And the girls soon noticed that non-family figures were in the house.

“! Spirit-sensei! And... that person is a Dragon, so is she a guest of big sister’s? Hello!” (Illuna)

“Oh, well, I’ll join as well. Everyone else can relax!” (Layla)

“Okay, I’ll leave it to you, Old Lady Cicerius, thank you.” (Yuki)

“Oh, Cicerius’s cooking. I’m looking forward to it!” (Lefi)

“Thank you, Old Lady Cicerius!” (Illuna)

Then, that day, the adults continued to eat, drink, and make merry until late at night, as if they were having a banquet.

The adults had a lot of fun.

“Well, that was fun, old man. It’s a good thing I lived long enough.” (Cicerius)

[It was a good time. How bright the time spent with friends like this shines in our eternal life.] (Spirit King)

“Haha, ah, I’m sure I’ll still remember these casual times of just talking, even after a thousand years. Especially little Leficious! I had heard about it, but I never thought she would start a family like that. She’s got her mother’s face on, and I’m so happy for her.” (Cicerius)

[Kuku, yes, that’s right. A dragon, the champion of the world, is now a mother. I’m sure she wouldn’t be offended if I told her that I couldn’t believe that she could end up that way.] (Spirit King)

On the one hand, there was the Spirit King, who had appeared in numerous history books and left his name as a legendary existence.

On the other hand, there was a legendary Dragon who had been visiting ruins to unravel the mysteries of the world and kept records that would be worth thousands of riches.

But now, they were acting as if they were mere grandparents, reminiscing about the good times they had spent with their friends and family.

“That’s right, Old Man, the child of Little Leficious... the title that Sakuya holds. I didn’t see it either, but what is it? Also, I didn’t understand the race because they added an unreadable bracket to [Dragonborn]...” (Cicerius)

[I could tell you. Just don’t let this leak out.] (Spirit King)

“I know, I’ll keep it to myself.” (Cicerius)

The Spirit King said.

[His race is King Of None. And his title is Bringer of Change.] (Spirit King)
