Chapter 102 - Processing and Evaluating Green Tea (1)

Bei Nuan seriously showered and used two different types of conditioners before coming out in a fragrant puff while drying off her hair.

While walking, she murmured, "If only there was a hair dryer."

It was a bit cold to have damp hair during this time of the year.

Lu Xingchi went over and rubbed the towel on her head. "Want to go out with me to play?"

"What's there to play?" Bei Nuan found his question odd. There were zombies everywhere. What fun activity could there be?

"I'll take you out shopping," Lu Xingchi answered.

Bei Nuan took a look at the countdown for her task and was tempted to accept his offer. Anyways, she still had over 10 hours left, and there wasn't an opportunity to act like a holy mother right now. She might as well go out for a walk to look around.

"Okay," Bei Nuan agreed.

Du Ruo immediately stood up with his phone in his hand. With his gaze and fingers riveted to his phone screen, he said, "No matter what you guys are going to do for fun, I'm coming along. I'm bored to death here."

Lu Xingchi didn't say anything.

It was only then that Du Ruo looked up from his phone screen. Seeing his friend's expression, he came to a sudden realization and changed his words, "Never mind, you two go by yourselves."

The mood suddenly became weird.

Bei Nuan felt awkward. She tugged on Du Ruo's sleeve. "Stop playing your phone games. Let's all go out together, okay?"

Three people were going to slip out to play, leaving behind Jiang Fei to work.

Jiang Fei didn't object to that. On the contrary, he asked Bei Nuan for a lot of ingredients.

"You guys go without me. I want to stay here to rest a bit more."

Although he said that, there were countless chickens, ducks, fish, vegetables, and fruits on the counter waiting to be processed.

Bei Nuan felt guilty.

"Never mind, I won't go. I'll stay here with you -"

Before she could finish speaking, Lu Xingchi suddenly grabbed her hand and said, "Give him space to rest. If we find anything fun or delicious, we'll bring him a copy back."

Tang Tang walked over. Smiling as he rolled up his sleeves, he said, "You guys go, I'll help Jiang Fei wash the vegetables."

Just as Bei Nuan was about to leave, Jiang Fei smiled at her and added, "Come back soon. I'll worry if you're gone for too long. Be careful, pay attention to safety."

He made it sound as if Bei Nuan was going to take the risk of going out alone and facing a throng of zombies. He treated Lu Xingchi, the domineering zombie killer, as if he was empty air.

Lu Xingchi calmly glanced at Jiang Fei and pulled Bei Nuan along.

After they left Shui University, Lu Xingchi drove the jeep to Shuicheng's downtown area, smashing his way through any obstacles.

Along the way, they caught the attention of countless zombies that tried to run after the jeep, but couldn't keep up. Lu Xingchi drove arrogantly and uncaringly, swerving left and right.

"Could you slow down?" Bei Nuan quietly suggested.

Lu Xingchi glanced at her. "I'm here. I can ensure your safety. What are you worried about?"

Bei Nuan wanted to laugh. He was still upset about what Jiang Fei had said.

Lu Xingchi drove the jeep into the parking garage of a building. He jumped off the jeep and easily dealt with the zombies that he had attracted. He killed them faster and more neatly than usual.

Lu Xingchi took Bei Nuan and Du Ruo upstairs to a mall with a nice department store.

The mall area was large. Along with the giant crystal chandelier in the atrium, there were also banners of spring sale promotions. Since the lights were still on, the place looked normal except for the lack of people.

The zombie outbreak had reached Shuicheng in the early morning. Thus, the stores hadn't opened yet. There were only a few store employees that had come to work early on the day of the zombie outbreak. Lu Xingchi easily dealt with those zombies.

"You wanted a hairdryer?" Lu Xingchi asked.

Bei Nuan was a bit touched that he had come all the way here just to get her a hairdryer. It had just been a passing thought for her.

Du Ruo had already looked at the mall map and carefully checked out the stores on each level. "The small appliances are sold on the top floor."

They went to the top floor. Bei Nuan took out all of the hair dryers on display, compared them, chose one with a negative ion feature, and put it in her pocket space. The chosen hair dryer had a beautiful pink color.

Lu Xingchi handed her duplicates of the hair dryer. "Keep a few spares."

Du Ruo muttered next to him, "They're useless once we leave here anyways. There's no electricity."
