Chapter 121 - So that counted as fulfilling one of his wishes? (1)
Fang Chen's home was in a nearby neighborhood. Like a baby animal living in a jungle, Fang Chen familiarly led everyone onto a pile of debris to go over a wall and then to a door on the second floor of a residential building.
Fang Chen unlocked the security door. The home couldn't look more normal.
Inside the bedroom, there was a teenager that looked like an older version of Fang Chen. His delicate face was flushed from his fever.
Seeing so many people coming, he furrowed his brow and struggled to sit up.
"Chenchen, what's wrong with you? Didn't I tell you to not trust anyone?"
"But they have a doctor and medicine," Fang Chen defended.
The teenager had no strength left from his fever. He let out a long sigh and fell back on the bed.
"Never mind, we have nothing left, just our two lives."
These two brothers' vigilance was very high.
Fang Chen told Bei Nuan, "This is my older brother, Fang Ye."
Du Ruo had already walked over to the bed. He asked about Fang Ye's condition and came to the preliminary judgment that Fang Ye had food poisoning from eating spoiled food.
Fang Ye was a little dehydrated, so Du Ruo had Bei Nuan take out sugar and salt. He added the items into water and had Fang Ye drink it.
While they were busy with that, Lu Xingchi walked around the room.
The curtains were tightly drawn. Lu Xingchi walked to the window, drew back the curtain a bit, and looked down.
Fang Ye stopped drinking the salt and sugar water. He jumped up, rushed over, and yanked the curtain closed again. His face was very tense.
"What's wrong?" Bei Nuan also noticed that the two siblings were acting strangely.
Lu Xingchi glanced at little Fang Chen, and he briefly opened the curtain again.
Fang Chen was so anxious that was about to cry. "I don't need you guys to treat my brother's fever anymore. You guys can leave."
Lu Xingchi calmly glanced down, then he looked at Fang Chen and asked, "Is that your family?"
Bei Nuan didn't understand what he meant, so she went over to look. She opened the curtain and looked across. It was just another apartment building. There was nothing special.
Lu Xingchi gestured for Bei Nuan to look down.
They were on the second floor. When she looked down, she was looking into the yard of a first floor resident.
The yard wasn't big. It was at most 10 square meters. There were piles of junk and several pots of flowers. The only thing special about it was the zombie.
The zombie was an old lady with gray hair that sluggishly moved around. She was wearing a blouse and one shoe. She was pacing around the yard while shouting.
"She's my grandma." Fang Chen burst into tears from worry. He tentatively tugged on Lu Xingchi's sleeve and looked at him with a pleading and timid gaze. "Don't kill my grandma. We locked her on the first floor as soon as she turned into a zombie. She's never done anything bad or bit anyone."
Lu Xingchi looked down at the small hand tugging on his sleeve, a bit speechless.
Fang Ye also sat up on the bed. "I don't need you to treat my illness. Don't kill my grandma."
Bei Nuan spoke for Lu Xingchi. "Don't be afraid. He's only fierce today because he's in a bad mood. He's not the type of person who has nothing better to do than kill zombies for sport."
Lu Xingchi lightly asked, "So why am I in a bad mood?"
Bei Nuan thought it over and joked, "I don't know. Could it be premature menopause?"
