Chapter 65: Life is too short to smile Every Day.

Chapter 65

In a dark room, all kinds of terrifying torture instruments were placed.

Wu Ying was chained to the wall, his body covered in blood.

His mask had fallen to the ground, stained red with blood.

"Breaking bones? Pulling tendons? Let me see how the top assassin of the Dark Cabinet turned into a cripple? Hahaha..."

The man in black said as he picked up a huge axe next to him and swung it down at Wu Ying's knee...

...

"Ah!"

Su Mo woke up with a start, sitting up abruptly from her bed, her forehead covered in sweat.

She stared blankly for a moment before her mind cleared, only to realize she had just had a nightmare.

She suddenly thought of something and immediately got out of bed.

A slight pain came from her waist as she frowned, but didn't care and ran out right away.

As soon as she went out the door she ran into Xia Miaomiao holding a bowl of medicine.

"Su Mo, you're awake?" Xia Miaomiao said in surprise.

"Where is Wu Ying? Where is he?" Su Mo immediately grabbed Xia Miaomiao and asked.

"Don't panic, he's in his own room. Xiao Han has already..."

Xia Miaomiao didn't get to finish her sentence before Su Mo had already run off.

When she arrived at Wu Ying's room, Su Mo saw Xiao Han giving Wu Ying acupuncture.

She could see Wu Ying's upper garments were undone, with many needles inserted, even on his head.

His body also seemed to have many external injuries, patches of purple and black all over.

"Xiao Han, how is he?" Su Mo asked anxiously.

"Badly injured," Xiao Han replied.

Su Mo squatted by the bedside, looking at Wu Ying's appearance, her eyes instantly turning red.

"How are your wounds? Have they stopped bleeding?" Xiao Han asked.

"I'm fine..." Su Mo murmured, "Xiao Han, you must cure him!"

"Don't worry, I'll even cure the imprint on his face!"

Su Mo didn't disturb Xiao Han anymore, just quietly sitting by the side watching Wu Ying.

After half a shichen, Xiao Han finally finished administering acupuncture.

"How is it? When will he wake up?" Su Mo asked.

"I don't know, let him rest first. I'll go check on the others,"

Xiao Han packed up his medicine box, "Bai Yunhan is the one in danger now. If we don't get the antidote today, he may not make it past tomorrow morning!"

Su Mo frowned, suddenly thinking of something. She looked at Wu Ying, "Let's go out and talk, let him rest well."

"Hahahahaha!" Third Aunt immediately burst out laughing.

The two sat in the yard watching Third Aunt laugh. When they got tired, they rested their heads on the table and took a nap.

Unknowingly, half a shichen passed. Tears were coming out of Third Aunt's eyes from laughing too hard.

"You...haha...want to kill...haha...want to slice..."

The two were woken up by the noise. Xiao Han got up and walked over, pulled out the needle, and yawned as he asked, "Hand over the antidote?"

Third Aunt let out a breath of relief, "Don't even think about it!"

"Then I'll have to try the crying acupoint instead."

Soon, the needle pricked her crying acupoint.

"Wahhhh..." Third Aunt immediately started bawling.

After crying for another half shichen, Third Aunt really couldn't take it anymore.

"I...wahhh...I'll give...wahhh..."

Xiao Han walked over and pulled out the needle, "Would've saved you this suffering if you just handed it over earlier! Really don't understand you people who insist on torture before confessing!"

"I...I don't have the antidote on me, I need to go back and get it," Third Aunt panted.

Su Mo walked over, "Doesn't seem like you're very sincere. Xiao Han, try her itchy acupoint!"

"No no no..." Third Aunt hurriedly tried to stop him.

That would be more agonizing than death!

Bai Yunhan was just a scholar. His life and death weren't actually that important to her.

"The antidote...is in my...hair."

Su Mo went over and rummaged through her hair bun, finding a tiny medicine packet wrapped in paper.

"Xiao Han, take a look,"

Xiao Han took the antidote and gave it a sniff, "Should be it, I'll bring it to Bai Yunhan right away."

Not long after, Xiao Han ran back out and told Su Mo, "Su Mo, Bai Yunhan's poison is cured!"

Only then did Su Mo untie Third Aunt.

Third Aunt gave them a fierce glare before swiftly fleeing the courtyard.

...

Until dusk, Gu Zhi finally awoke, but Wu Ying still hadn't woken up.

Xia Miaomiao had just cooked some lean meat porridge. Sang Li served a bowl and brought it to Gu Zhi.

Gu Zhi sat at the bedside, his face still a little pale. He stared blankly ahead, seemingly lost in thought.

"Gu Zhi?"

Sang Li's voice brought Gu Zhi back to reality.

Gu Zhi immediately turned to look at Sang Li, the corners of his mouth curling into a smile, his voice a little husky.

"Sister..."
