Chapter 5: Why did he pick me up from school

Chapter 5

Lin Jianzhi had been explaining all day long, her lips chapped from overuse, yet no one believed her.

What was even more frightening was that every time class ended, there would be students from other classes cramming the hallway outside the classroom, poking their heads in to look at her.

Not only had Mu Yin seen her get out of Zhu Liheng's passenger seat, students from other classes saw it too!

Word spreads from one person to ten, ten to a hundred.

Coupled with the scene on the basketball court yesterday, it was really too misleading. The whole school was buzzing with rumors!

Her classmates were already used to it, shouting introductions every break:

"Here to see Lin Jianzhi? The one with the ponytail in the third row!"

"Here to see Zhu Liheng's girlfriend? The ponytail!"

"That's her! The one who looks very innocent! She must be the campus heartthrob's type!"

Lin Jianzhi didn't even dare lift her head. She slumped over her desk and took out her phone.

She logged into Weibo. She didn't know anyone on Weibo and wanted to vent her complicated feelings.

But when she opened the app, she saw 999+ notifications on the top right corner!

What was going on? Alll latest novels at novelhall.com

Lin Jianzhi stared wide-eyed and tapped to look.

Boom!

Mind blown!

The Weibo post she had randomly made last night actually had over ten thousand likes and a thousand comments!

With a trembling hand, she opened the comments section and was shocked to find Zhu Liheng's comment was the most popular.

Lin Jianzhi: "!!!"

How did he find it?

Did Zhu Liheng know her Weibo handle?

No way, impossible!

Lin Jianzhi quickly scrolled through her past Weibo posts. Nothing too shocking, right?

She probably didn't post about the incident from two years ago here, right?

She was going crazy!

Lin Jianzhi frantically scrolled upwards until her hand felt sore and her eyes strained.

Finally, after thousands of posts, she found her own rather silly past crush story.

She quickly locked that post so only she could see it, then let out a heavy sigh of relief.

She didn't name anyone specifically or give too many details. Plus no one would be bored enough to archeologically dig up a nobody's old Weibo posts.

So it was safe!

Nothing to worry about!

No one knew who she was!

After settling herself down, Lin Jianzhi finally started reading the comments under her latest Weibo post.

Enthusiastic netizens flocked over to cheer her on.

Zhu Liheng had gotten full marks on the math portion of the college entrance exam!

Yet she could only barely pass!

The gap was too big. How embarrassing!

She wanted to die wuwuwu!

Zhu Liheng watched in shock as her eyes visibly reddened. Why was she crying?

He really didn't mean to hurt her pride! He was just stating facts!

Zhu Liheng quickly grabbed some tissues and pulled out a good several sheets for her. "Your English is good enough to get full marks. The teacher said you have an outstanding talent for languages, your pronunciation is standard, and you're suited for diplomacy."

"Wahwahwah!" Lin Jianzhi cried even harder!

She was mentally weak with extremely sensitive tear ducts. She could never handle the diplomacy major.

She felt awful. She was truly useless!

Zhu Liheng froze there awkwardly.

Crap, he didn't know how to comfort her.

He really hadn't seen someone who cried this easily before!

Lin Jianzhi didn't want to cry either, let alone in front of Zhu Liheng.

But she couldn't control herself. The more nervous she got, the less she could control herself, and her tears flowed freely like water.

Zhu Liheng pulled over and parked at the roadside.

Seeing the empty driver's seat, Lin Jianzhi abruptly stopped crying!

Crap!

Annoying!

She had annoyed Zhu Liheng!

Wuwuwu what to do!

Zhu Liheng got out and walked around to the passenger side, opening the door.

He crouched down to meet her eyes and said seriously, "Little Jianzhi, what's wrong with you? Don't be scared. I'm not your parent. I'm only two years older than you. Don't treat me like a stern senior. We're peers. If you have any psychological pressure or unhappy things you want to vent, you can talk to me."

Lin Jianzhi froze as giant teardrops kept rolling down her cheeks. In her eyes was the reflection of Zhu Liheng's face.

Fair, clean, good-looking.

She really couldn't resist and immediately threw herself into Zhu Liheng's arms!

Bawling uncontrollably!

Nothing was actually wrong with her. She just liked him so much she was going crazy!

Her tears thoroughly soaked a large patch on Zhu Liheng's white shirt.

Because he played sports, Zhu Liheng was tall, fit and healthy. His shoulders were thick and broad, giving a sense of security. That light fragrance grew stronger too.

Faint, like the scent of grass.

Zhu Liheng was startled for a moment before gently patting her slender back.

Nestled in his arms, Lin Jianzhi felt as if she was melting away.

Were they...hugging?
