Volume 3 Chapter 19: Strangest Ideas

"I'm going to launch us upwards," Keith explained. That was the plan he came up with.

"How can we do that?" Gabriel found his plan interesting. But how were they going to do it?

"We'll use wind magic to propel ourselves upwards."

"But magic doesn't work," Gabriel stated.

Keith shook his head, "It's not that it doesn't work. It will only last five seconds before we have to cast it again." His earth stairs lasted a few seconds before they broke.

"That's why we need to propel ourselves upwards with wind magic continuously."

"That's an interesting idea," Gabriel laughed.

"You know how to use wind magic?"

"Mmhmm," Gabriel nodded.

"Let's go!" Like that, Gabriel made his move as he jumped off the ledge! It was a quick and sudden move.

"Do these guys have a death wish?!"

"Why are they so stupid?!"

It was like the two of them were playing a game! How could they jump off the stairs they made?! But Gabriel made his move as he used wind magic! It launched him even higher!

"Now!" Gabriel shouted as he pulled the chains! Keith got launched up as well!

And he quickly created an earth slab! Without a thought, he pulled on the rope and flung Gabriel higher. Five seconds was enough for Keith to launch Gabriel even higher in the air!

The two were going up like that?! Everyone was staring in shock at how fast they went.

....

"Those who failed, exit to your right,"

"This is messed up!"

"How could you do something like that?!"

"What does this test even mean?!"

The students who failed were furious about what had happened. This test was something they didn't understand.

Keith sighed when he heard their complaints. He understood what this test was focused on.

"Hah, that is why you fools failed," Aidiun shook his head. That caused the students' expressions to contort.

"This test was to test your abilities to be quick-witted." Aidiun laughed at them.

"!"

"This test was to examine how you could react in tense moments. And how to make changes on the fly. In the real world, there are multiple occasions where you have to do that,"

That was what the test was about. Being chained to another person made the situation bizarre. Adding the suddenness of the ground shaking, it would rattle anyone.

And that was the purpose. In situations, you need to have a clear mind.

And then with the added effect of getting close to the top. It was to see who could make snap judgments to fit the need.

"..." The failed students had nothing to say.

"You guys failed because you couldn't adapt to the situation given to you," Aidiun shook his head,

"Now scram!" With a wave of his hands, the people flew away without a thought!

"..." No one said a thing. One move was enough to cause those people to fly away! He could have done that any time he wanted.

Aidiun turned to the one who passed, "I will tell you the scores right here,"
