Volume 6.5 Chapter 36: We Need Water
The whole patch of land had turned barren and desolate! Keith was left stunned, witnessing the damage that was caused. Gabriel muttered, "We came back, and it became like this."
"The vegetables!" Herrick and Melor screamed!
"How did it become like this?" Keith's expression twisted as he looked around. The dirt was strange; it had an odd color to it.
"I managed to halt it, but the damage was already done." Diana, in the midst of her chores, felt a disturbance. Hastily, she went to the garden, only to find it in ruins.
"It's not your fault." Alfia quickly consoled her. While she did, Keith walked over to the dirt and examined it. Something strange happened next!
Poof! The dirt turned into dust! It became molecules and was blown away by the wind!
"What the?!" The others saw what occurred. Faelyn asked, "Keith, do you know what's happening?"
"The water was sucked out." "Hmm?"
"There's no water in this dirt." That was what Keith realized. The soil became that color because the water was sucked dry.
"How did all the water disappear?" "Because of the seed I planted."
"You planted a seed?"
"It's that seed," Diana realized and explained to the others, "Keith had obtained a seed from the dungeon."
"I didn't think it would cause this much damage. Sorry about that." Keith quickly apologized.
"Alfia, don't you have a water spirit?" If he remembered correctly, the wolf spirit Alfia tamed was a water spirit.
"I do." "Not going to help. This seed requires a lot more mana than what it could provide."
"..." Keith went silent when he heard that. However, he clapped his hands together, "There's no point in thinking about it right now."
"Keith." "Of course, I'm a little bummed out. However, what we really need to focus on is to plant these in a different location." Keith couldn't forget about that. With how it took the soil, they would need to do something about it.
"By the way, will the soil recover?"
"In a week or two." "That's good." Keith clapped his hands, "Alright, there's nothing to worry about now." He was content with this. I'll find a way to deal with this seed later. He wasn't going to stop growing it with this setback.
