"Still, we are a ways off from going so far," Eldrian replied, after recent events he was now far more willing to do as much as he could to secure knowledge of their situation.
As such, after a moment's hesitation, he decided to commit and use the map exploration function for the entire Taurus kingdom instead of just locations of interest.
The total cost ended up being around three hundred million and he was quite willing to pay it to get a much clearer understanding of things.
With the entire map explored and all allies and enemies highlighted, he could much better determine the current and potential risks to them and the nearby villages. However, he understood well that he could not do anything on his own. Especially in his current condition.
He hadn't gotten the time yet to confirm his own condition, nor what was going on IRL. His body felt heavy, there was a bunch of aching and some burning still. And to top it off mana felt extremely heavy, the apology he had sent to Ceph had taken a tremendous amount of his effort.
"Don't ask how, but my map is different from the other Chosen." Eldrian started off with, while quickly filling Elizabeth in on his thoughts through a message to keep her up to date. Luckily, it seemed that the system that GAIA had given him was not affected by recent events.
While he was curious how it worked, he felt that now was not the time to think about it.
"Do you have a map of the kingdom?" Eldrian asked, turning to Pelaros who quickly nodded and took one out.
It was a tiny map, mostly used for understanding the placement of the cities. Pointing onto this map, Eldrian explained what his map showed him. While making sure to mention that he wasn't sure if it detected all people, but that it did detect most.
"As such, it seems the focus of the orcs is currently around Vlisia. I'm not sure why they are gathering most of their forces; it is quite likely that they mean to force the siege once they confirmed what the cannons are and aren't capable of."
"The force surrounding Juzna seems to be similar in size to the one that was surrounding Diades. Other than these two sieging forces, they have a few smaller bands moving to the city of Naraan." Eldrian said, pointing to the city near the ocean-sized lake in the west of the kingdom.
"It appears that they aren't moving to siege the city of Naraan but rather only scouring the lands, presumably to raid."
"How long have you had this- ability?" Evale asked, just moments before Jannet and Pelaros could do the same.
She quickly connected that this must be how Eldrian had been able to pinpoint the undead's locations. However, learning that he could do the same for the entire kingdom was a gamechanger.
The accuracy seemed to be good as this was extremely similar to the limited recent communications that they have had with the rest of the kingdom.
"Since I came back, but it comes at a cost and I am not certain how it works, nor what its limitations are." Eldrian replied, "But I was stupid in not making better use of it."
A small part of him wanted to give himself some slack since he had been extremely busy the entire time, but he quickly crushed that part of himself. Determined to improve as much as he could and never let small mistakes or dumb decisions stack up against him again.
"This is why I am sharing this now, if you wouldn't mind delivering a larger map to my house I will keep it updated daily with the movements of the orcs near locations of interest."
Seeing Pelaros about to ask Eldrian nodded and confirmed it, "Yes, and no. I can see when someone not of Taurus enters the kingdom's borders, or rather a large group." Naturally, when Eldrian was looking at the entire kingdom, most towns wouldn't even show up.
As such he normally had to zoom in and out repeatedly around all cities to get a clearer picture of things. It took some time, but he felt that the information should be priceless to the kingdom. While they should have their own source, if he could give daily updates it should be massive.
If there was some sort of magic, or if they used a player as a relay, it was also quite possible to have the information be relayed to the capital or king directly.
"If I can get a map like this of Kynigo too, I can keep it updated too." Eldrian offered, "Though, if the undead wanted they could cross their border and reach the city in less than a day."
"Not true," Jannet countered, "This would be correct if they moved without any lower undead, but it is doubtful that they would do so. While the vampires might come with an army of thralls, the thralls will also slow their advance greatly. And after recent setbacks, I doubt they would charge the city haphazardly."
Nodding, Eldrian waited for questions. It took a moment for every to wrap their heads around the new and much clearer view of the kingdom's situation. After which they asked Eldrian about certain locations, using the small map they filled in the details and formed a rough idea of their overall situation.
"It does seem like they are looking to take Vlisia by force despite the defensive abilities that the cannons bring. Should we move to help?" Evale asked, looking at Pelaros as she did.
"I don't think we can. As I understand it, our situation is still dire. We have stabilized but we can't really offer much help to others and with the refugees coming... However, we should most certainly share the information we have with the king." Of course, Pelaros didn't think that the king would be unaware of the overall situation but the fact that they could confirm enemy movements in real-time was important to share.
And even more importantly, they should share it with all the cities of the kingdom. If all the mayors could stay informed, then the kingdom would be able to work together as a far better cohesive force. It would also be able to organize trade and relief efforts with such information, and much more.
Jannet quickly asked if she could perform the task. After getting approval, Pelaros gave her a type of medallion to allow her to teleport to the capital directly.
Eldrian had been curious about how that was monitored and controlled, using the opportunity he asked.
"Teleportation between cities simply required one of the magic tower's approval, however, teleportation from besieged cities is naturally blocked. Only teleportation into such cities is accepted. However, it is still monitored and normally required both magic towers' cooperation to allow it to happen."
"As for the capital, you would normally need to go to the duke cities first. Teleporting to them requires approval of their side, or a medallion similar to what I gave Jannet. In this case, I gave her my personal medallion which allows me as the city mayor and royal bloodline to teleport directly to the capital."
"Is it okay to simply hand her something so valuable?" Nikki asked, the fact that Pelaros seemed unconcerned about something that should certainly be a state secret baffled her.
"If times were normal I might not act so recklessly, but in the current conditions I believe getting the information to them is more important than following procedure."
Naturally, the danger of Jannet being caught and losing the medallion was very real. However, it happening should be unlikely since no one but those in the room will know about it.
