We needed to stay vigilant as we traveled as while I wasn't expecting to run into anything we couldn't handle I didn't want to risk it. Thankfully we managed to get out of the forest before the sun went down and reached the coast on this side of Hoenns main continent. As one would expect there was a wide variety of water type pokemon on the coast. Wingul , Marill , Spheal and even Krabby line pokemon were just sort of going about their business as my team and I left the forest.-
I observed all the tougher looking pokemon to get a firm grasp of their levels and immediately told my team not to cause any problems. The reason for this came in the form of dozens of pokemon between level fifty and eighty. Obviously I noped out of any hostilities with the locals since I am rather attached to my life and would simply hate to lose it. I was relieved when none of the locals felt like picking a fight either and even seemed to actively avoid us.-
'I suppose I shouldn't be surprised since even with a type advantage none of my team are normal pokemon.' I thought as we traveled further down the coast line as the sun started to set. To my surprise a quest suddenly popped up startling me. Looking at the details I couldn't help but sigh before accepting it.
[Quest conditions established!
"Well lets camp set up our shelter for the night. I won't go looking for the shipwreck until I have the light I will need to find it." I said and my team got to work. Vulcan used a low energy magma coat to create a hard base over the sand while Gaia created large rocks that I had her set up while Rune used his claws to carve them into shape so they fit together like bricks. Tank meanwhile created sticky silk that was used as the mortar for these "bricks". After about an hour of work we had a rough stone shelter ready and able to accommodate all of us.-
I had chosen a spot that was out of the tidal zone so none of us would be getting a salty surprise as we slept. "What are you guys thinking we have for dinner , stew , skewers or maybe tacos?" I asked as I busted out the portable cooking station. ""Char! EN!"" Vulcan and Rune spoke at the same time and I chuckled at the glare they gave each other. "As per the rules I will act as the tiebreaker and agree with Vulcan on this ones since I haven't made tacos for you guys yet and we eat stew all the time." I said and rune pouted while Vulcan looked smug.-
I chose to ignore my mons antics and focus on the task at hand with cooking up the food. First I chopped up a lot of onions , cabbage and tomatoes for the veggies while the large amount of ground Tauros cooked and rendered out the fat in it. I had Rune stir the meat to keep it from sticking while I ground a bunch of dried corn into powder that I stored in a large bowl and added a bit of seasoning to along with mineral water that i used to create a sort of thick corn flour dough.-
Once the meat was drowning in it's own grease I strained it out while keeping the grease to fry the dough into hard shells. The meat meanwhile was seasoned heavily with various spices and herbs while I used some sour berry juice to give it a bit of extra flavor. Once the taco shells were done frying I stored the grease away for later in a storage bin and started setting the meal up. Vulcan and Rune both agreed that it was delicious and ate a large amount.-
A few of the local pokemon showed interest in my food and I split them off a bit of food while i was cooking that they gratefully ate with relish. After we all ate i gave Gaia one final healing session for the day before heading off to sleep. Even though my pokemon took shifts to keep watch it wasn't really necessary since the locals that ate earlier kept anything with bad intentions away with a defensive huddle around the rough stone construct we were in. The main defender was a large pink Corsola that sat in front of the entrance.-
Unlike how the game would have you believe Corsola didn't actually need to be shiny to have a different color than pink as in truth they were able to change their color based on what they have eaten and where they live. The ones that were pink either chose to stay that way or were newborns that didn't know better yet , this one fell into the former category. Still Corsola were much like shuckle in that they traded their other stats to focus in one particular one which in this case was defense.
