Omega reborn
In the list of handlers the league got as a sacrifice by the rest of the goods ring I had noticed the lack of a certain elderly handler in Mossdeep city being on it and smiled. It wasn't surprising at all that she hadn't been sacrificed considering how rare dark type ability users are not to mention ones who would work for a criminal ring. Ironically such people who were perfect for that sort of work due to their immunity to mind reading tended to avoid it for exactly that reason. This created a weird kind of protection for the few who did though as most dark type ability holders stayed away from crime in the public eye.-
This meant the old woman was simply too valuable to give up as she was the only person who could let the ring do business out of Mossdeep that was otherwise impossible to do so out of thanks to the many psychics there. It also made my job much easier as I didn't need to change my plans to go to the city at all. I didn't leave Lilycove immediately after taking down team aqua though as this city had many rare things in it due to it's function as one of two mainland harbors.-
The other used to be Slateport but for rather obvious reasons that was no longer the case. Thanks to this Lilycove was absolutely FLOODED with imports and exports that I was very interested in perusing. Minerals , legally imported pokemon , eggs , cloth , woods and many more things were heavy in the city and being sold for both cheap and outrageous prices. One such thing that caught my eye was a single four by four of wood that was not what it first appeared to be.-
I had been searching for a suitable wood for my spear head in every town or city I went to and as a result was casually appraising some hauled in lumber from Rota when I saw it.
[Item name: Aeons wood
If I ran fire type aura through the spear the head gathered it and emitted violent flames not unlike a pokemon move. I couldn't be happier with the weapon as it was a perfect weapon to sit in my hands and use. It's inclusion on my back didn't go unnoticed either as the league employees still in the city reported it up the chain. Birch called to ask about it and I told him what i could and he all but begged me to let him study it.-
Aura and artifacts weren't his field but he freely admitted that he would have to be insane to pass up the oppurtunity to study something like my spear that the league had no records of similar cases at all. He wasn't alone in his interest in my weapon either as I got calls from Steven and his father as well as an "aura specialist" in Hoenn. The mere fact that the guy said he didn't have aura himself made me very doubtful about his supposed specialization in the stuff but I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt.-
Another thing I got from all the imports in Lilycove was a whole bunch of alchemical and cooking ingredients from various places in the world. Crystal salt from Sinnoh , dried wasabi powder from Kanto and various other things as well. In my hands these ingredients were used to cook meals good enough to bring a tear to the eye. I know because at one point when I was cooking in the wild area outside the city someone had smelled it and somehow worked up the nerve to ask for some under my whole teams not so gentle gazes.-
The man legitimately had tears coming down his face as he ate the bowl I fixed him. Afterwards he said something that i wasn't sure whether to consider a compliment or an insult. "Despite looking like you'd kill a man for sneezing wrong you are a damn good chef!" he said with a hearty laugh. I knew I probably didn't look like the most friendly of people but it couldn't be that bad right? As Birch told me when I asked , yes as a matter of fact it was that bad.-
I was the gods damned definition of "savage looking" according to Birch and everyone else he'd talked about it with. I walked around dirty and half naked with wild hair , an eyepatch and a big fuck off spear on my back while looking to be made of chiseled stone. Add on my pokemon who were also not very outgoing in most cases and one look told everyone to stay as far from me as possible unless they wanted to get stabbed. It made what the man did in ignoring my appearance for food either more impressive or concerning.
