Half an hour later,
"Are you awake?" A voice reached Leo's ears while his eyes, which kept looking towards the ceiling, not losing his consciousness even after all this pain, was already a miracle. But right now, he was feeling healthier than ever. However, due to the remnants of sensation that his mind lingered on, he was still in shock. Explore more at m,v l'e-novelhall.net
"Yes, what was that?" Leo, turning his head, which, unlike he expected, didn't even feel a slight bit uncomfortable due to the accident, looked towards the window, where a man with folded hands was looking in his direction. The bridge of his silver hair was tousled, revealing the deep blue eyes that gazed back at Leo.
"Nothing but a chance," Avendial observed Leo, who was lying on the patient's bed, his wounds completely healed and his body back to its previous condition, showing no hint of awakening. There were no physical changes around Leo's body; he appeared completely normal, given his physique with well-defined muscles and a well-built form made due to his profession as a construction worker.
But for Avendial, who could see that this man had awakened, it was a success. Though of course he didn't know which type of ability Leo had awakened, Avendial's first experiment was not about getting the strongest awakened but rather confirming his theory.
In his previous life, due to the tower, there was no need for his blood to be used to awaken someone, as most people were awakened through the tower's influence. There were some women whom he had helped using different bodily fluids, but still, it was just a theory he had devised regarding his blood, which was also a body fluid, helping others to awaken.
Though he wouldn't have been that sure if his blood could awaken someone, given how it could make someone permanently immune to Synergy, he had learned that his bodily fluid, after being detached from his body, would most likely hold the property of nullifying it for only a mere 60 seconds.
Due to this particular property, he became more certain that there was a possibility of awakening an individual. The issue was that he needed to confirm it practically on someone, and he just got a perfect candidate—Leo.
"Chance?" Leo slowly stood from his bed, clearly healed, removing the needle from his wrist and standing on his feet. He could feel his body was back to its original form, realizing that whatever that poison was, it was some kind of healing potion that had completely healed him.
He looked towards Avendial in surprise, given that this man not only saved him but also used some kind of medicine to heal him, where previously Leo had thought that after the accident he would most likely become incompatible for construction.
Clenching his fist, he glanced around to find his dirty construction clothes nearby before moving to change into his clothes.
Accepting himself as Marquess Avendial's bodyguard.

"Is it true?" Aecilia sat in the nearly empty hospital hall, where only a few doctors and hospital staff moved about, attending to patients and sharing medical histories with colleagues arriving from Croceaus hospitals. She was focused on the phone in her hand, having just received some rather surprising information.
"Fine..." Aecilia ended the call and was about to stand up when she spotted Avendial approaching her in the hallway. As she slowly rose from her seat, she noticed something unusual: the man she had saved earlier that day was walking on his own two feet and appeared to be in surprisingly good health as he trailed behind the Marquess.
"What happened?" Avendial asked, ignoring the onset of night as it edged closer to 7:00 PM. He cast a glance toward Aecilia, who now wore a look of concern, her eyes betraying her worry about Leo's condition. Despite the advancements in medical technology, it was indeed unusual for someone who had just survived such a serious accident to appear this well.
To steer her away from inquiring about Leo, he opted to ask instead.
"Ah? That's..." Aecilia paused, narrowing her gaze as she realized Avendial was deliberately trying to redirect her attention, preventing her from probing deeper into the man's condition. Taking a deep breath, she chose to go along with his distraction, revealing, "Lin Diego is part of the Ravan family."
'!?!'
'Wh-what?' Avendial's eyes widened in shock as his composed demeanor crumbled, replaced by evident bewilderment at the mention of the Ravan family.
