Chapter 90: Chapter 92- Avendial's awareness

"As you order, My Lady," one of the figures said, slightly bowing as she heard her orders.

Though, of course, all seven of them had no special abilities, being professionals, they were far stronger than the average human.

Even if their physiques were not as strong as Leo's—who used to be a construction worker—when seven people with professional martial arts training attacked a physically strong man, it was inevitable that he would be overwhelmed.

And also, Dad sneak attacked him, taking advantage of the opportunity when his body was in the most vulnerable condition—angered, mid-air, and just healed from injuries sustained in the accident.

This isn't a movie where a single person without any superpowers could defeat many others who are professionals in fighting without suffering any injuries. And right now, without giving Leo a moment for retaliation, the seven women were pressing him down on the ground.

And it was natural that his body would sustain several internal injuries.

Whatever it was, it was clear that Leo's awakened ability was definitely not protecting him from the force pressing him to the floor.

Ignoring everything, Aecilia stood calmly, clearly intent on removing every possibility of falling into a situation where, due to her negligence, some kind of threat could come near Avendial.

She moved, passing beside Leo, whose head was soon grabbed by one of those seven figures, who pulled him upward before an eighth one came forward and delivered a hard punch, instantly making him lose consciousness.

Aecilia approached the door, which was opened by one of the Sertsul members who only bowed, clearly indicating that this hospital had been taken over by the members of the Sertsul family, after being emptied.

"I must say, Marquess, you always seem busy." Giving a cold gaze, Aecilia looked towards the arriving man, who seemed busy on his phone, and with her eyes turning calm, she inquired with a curious tone.

"Am I? Aren't you the one busy here?" Avendial raised an eyebrow, glancing toward the glass doors, where he could see an unusually high number of women moving inside the hospital, wearing scrub outfits and appearing to be doctors and nurses.

This made him understand that this hospital was now under their control.

There was a simple reason why the Sertsul family had a large number of women as their recruits.

A sacrifice named Leo, which Avendial had planted, so afterward, Avendial would be able to get information on what the Sertsul family wanted from him.

In the end, even after trusting them, it was impossible for him to blindly ignore their presence around him.

By using Leo, who appeared strong-willed according to Avendial's observation, he would be able to inquire exactly what the motives of the Sertsul family were.

But he needed to do it soon since leaving Leo under the Sertsul family for more than few hours would start to break his mentality.

After all, a human body cannot withstand the interrogation methods, including poisoning and other kinds of things employed by professionals.

"Ah, Leo? I sent him with Sertsul members to have a thorough interrogation," Aecilia folded her hands as she descended from the steps, clearly revealing what she had done with Leo, not even hiding this fact, causing Avendial, who stood there while thinking to utilize the situation, to look blankly, clearly taken aback by Aecilia's revelation, as she had openly accepted it without making any excuse.

To be honest, Avendial had definitely not expected this.

He thought she would just make an excuse and try to bring Leo back as soon as possible, prompting him to exhale as he looked towards the sky before tilting his head, looking at Aecilia, who seemed to be moving toward a car brought by one of the hospital staff. He added, "He is my bodyguard; you cannot just torture my people."

"Wasn't I the one who saved his life?", Aecilia moved towards the driver's seat, already aware that she would need to drive the car. She shrugged her shoulder before entering, giving a wink to Avendial, whose eyes were slightly widened. Before relaxing with a smile, he approached the car.

"Fine, this time, you win," Avendial said as he entered the car and sat down, one hand resting on the car's door, relaxed as he propped his back on the seat, closing his eyes as he thought of falling asleep, which he wasn't able to do after arriving in the past.

For that moment, he decided to relax and take a break from trying to read this woman, who was very confusing since he didn't know much about her from the future, and how she was confessing her crimes with a straight face in front of him.

It appeared that his casual conversation with her had created a butterfly effect, given how openly she was speaking to him. This was impossible for her to do previously, considering how he had always been busy with business and consistently rejected any private meetings with any member of the Sertsul family.

"Huh? Marquess, you can't sleep just like that. I also didn't get good sleep," Aecilia said, starting the car as its engine roared to life, slowly turning the steering wheel as her fingers delicately danced over it, glancing at him with a raised eyebrow, seeing how she wasn't able to get a good sleep due to this man giving her a fake assurance for a date and then making her the driver.

She was definitely a self-dependent woman, but making her drive the car on a date was definitely making her regret her decision to not get a proper sleep and instead come running after hearing how he wanted to go on a date.

"Good night, Aecilia," Avendial mumbled as he fell asleep, the cold air from the open window brushing over his face, directing his words towards Aecilia, who, in reciprocation, adjusted her rearview mirror to the direction of his face while taking glances at his reflection.

"Good night, Marquess....
