Wen Qingyou x Jiang Lingwei (7)
Jiang Lingwei found the request made by Wen Qingyou unbelievable.
He wanted her?
What did he want her for?
“Want me?” Jiang Lingwei raised her eyebrows at Wen Qingyou. Her hand frivolously teased his collar. “My brother and your sister are right next door. Aren’t you a little too bold?”
Wen Qingyou knew that she misunderstood his meaning.
He slowly pulled away Jiang Lingwei’s hand, and instead held it in his hand. “I want you as a person, not your body.”
“…”
Jiang Lingwei vaguely understood what he meant. After a pause, she shook off his hand and took two steps back. She was all defensive.
She crossed her arms in front of her chest and looked at him strangely: “Stop joking. It was just for fun. How can you take it seriously?”
Wen Qingyou lowered his head, still smiling faintly. “Yes, I’m serious.”
Jiang Lingwei did not say anything and just stared at him.
After a long time of silence, Wen Qingyou continued, his tone even more serious, “I want to take it seriously, okay?”
Jiang Lingwei’s first reaction was to laugh.
She admitted that she had a good feeling for this man at first sight, but this good feeling stopped that night in Miami. It stopped the night he rejected her.
She wasn’t a very emotional person. In the past two months, although he still easily stimulated her body, if he wanted to take things seriously…
Jiang Lingwei shook her head smilingly/ “It won’t work.”
Wen Qingyou certainly knew that he couldn’t impress her that smoothly, not to mention that in Miami, it was he who first refused.
So Jiang Lingwei’s reaction now was expected.
His response was also very bland.
“How do you know it won’t work if you don’t try?”
“At least-”
Wen Qingyou leaned closer to Jiang Lingwei, and a trickle of ambiguity laced his low voice. “We are in tune in bed.”
There was no shortage of people pursuing Jiang Lingwei. But perhaps because of her prominent family background, academic feats and other barriers, along with her own unruly personality, those men wooing her were always a bit submissive.
Jiang Lingwei had always believed that love was the mutual surrender of souls.
This of course also included the body.
This was the first time a man dared to say such a thing directly in front of her.
Jiang Lingwei couldn’t help laughing, as if her interest was piqued. She, however, curled her lips indifferently. “Okay, then you can try.”
From that day on, Wen Qingyou contrived a new plan for his life.
Through his conversations with Wen Yu, he slowly learned about Jiang Lingwei’s life.
He learned that she loved traveling, bar-hopping and playing extreme sports after work. She could be considered a consummate high-end player.
She embodied a fiery horse that loved galloping, galloping in her own world and disliked to be disturbed.
Wen Qingyou knew that such a woman was very difficult to conquer, and thus readied himself for a long-term battle. He canceled his ticket back to the United States, and even transferred part of his work to the country.
The more she refused him, the stronger his curiosity and desire to conquer her.
In spring, Wen Qingyou and Wen Yu returned to Beijing together.
While handling official business in the United States on the same floor of his sister’s company, he secretly entered Jiang Lingwei’s world.
Wen Yu and Jiang Yuhe were unaware of all this.
It should be said that no one except Jiang Lingwei herself knew what Wen Qingyou was doing.
Jiang Lingwei initially thought that what Wen Qingyou said in Jiangcheng was just a whim. After all, a country stood between them, not to mention the mountains from Jiangcheng to Beijing.
But against all her expectations, Wen Qingyou came back to her just a few days later.
“Where do you want to go on our first date?” Wen Qingyou asked this question on the day they met.
They were not children, and there was no need to hide his crooked thoughts, let alone toward a woman like Jiang Lingwei. Wen Qingyou knew that all the routines were useless.
He could only accommodate her and follow her.
So Jiang Linwei pulled her lips, “Modu. Shall we go?”
Modu was a very famous nightclub in Beijing. There would always be long queues at the entrance at night. It was a place where many young people loved to spend their time.
Wen Qingyou wasn’t fond of clubbing.
In the more than ten years since he became an adult, that night with Jiang Lingwei was the only time he violated his bottom line.
One violation would lead to several violations, such as the present circumstances.
He accompanied her to bars, drank with her, and witnessed her flirting styles in the game circle.
Throughout this period, Wen Qingyou was almost always there, like the most loyal bystander beside Jiang Lingwei.
He watched her enact how she indulged herself wantonly in every turbulent night.
In the daytime she was a professional executive in a suit and uniform dress; at night, under the lights, she was like a poppy, charming but inviolable.
Anyone could approach her, but no one could get close to her.
Including Wen Qingyou.
This kind of life lasted for more than a month. Jiang Lingwei just let Wen Qingyou into her world, but never made any commitment to him.
It was Wen Qingyou who said he wanted to try it, and it was he who wanted to start it.
He certainly had the right to call a halt and an end.
It seemed like a beginning without a future.
But Wen Qingyou was very indifferent from beginning to end.
He took Jiang Lingwei home when she got drunk, and watched her calmly when she was freely flirting with other men.
He wanted to see how crazy she was going to show him.
Let’s see who was more composed.
Finally, the turnaround in the relationship happened one unexpected night.
Jiang Lingwei was still drinking with her friends in a familiar bar, while Wen Qingyou was still accompanying her.
He was as warm and poker-faced as ever, accepting all her indulgences.
That night, a strange woman was added to Jiang Lingwei’s friends. The woman had a wound in the corner of her eye, and she cried to Jiang Lingwei after she came.
Wen Qingyou got a general idea of what was happening. The woman had been subjected to domestic violence, and she came to ask Jiang Lingwei for legal help.
Jiang Lingwei was emotionally stimulated. She scolded her friend’s husband for being trash and comforted her friend at the same time.
Her temperament was true to herself, and was completely free from the bondage of the title, Young Miss of a rich and powerful family. No matter good or bad, she always enthusiastically expressed all her ideas.
This might also be the reason why Wen Qingyou liked her more after getting following her day by day.
But this kind of liking was agony itself.
She was real and loved freedom, but that didn’t seem to include him.
