“Huh?! You’re going to go to your parents’ house together?”
I laughed bitterly, thinking that it was understandable to see Takuto with a very surprised expression on his face.
“Y-yeah, I was worried about something…”
Hearing this, Takuto jittered and looked at me. Then he looked at Chinatsu, who was standing next to him.
“Is that why you’re not dating?”
“Ah, it’s not like that.”
“What’s wrong with you guys?”
“Shut up.”
I tapped Takuto on the shoulder.
“You like her, right??”
“Yeah, I think I like her.”
“Then confess”
“Confess!” Chinatsu said,
“It’s one sided, so if I confess it now, she’ll just reject me, and Kaede will be annoyed if I confess it too.”
I looked at Takuto and Chinatsu adding, “This relationship is the best for now.”
Then they both let out a loud sigh of exasperation.
“What is it?”
“Somehow, I feel impatient~ I feel sorry for Kae-chan.”
“Kae-chan??” I asked,
Chinatsu called Kaede by her nickname. When did they become so close ….? When I was wondering why, Chinatsu turned around and smiled at me.
“You want me to tell you? Why did I suddenly start calling her by her nickname?”
“N-no, it’s ….”
“Hmmm, that’s okay~.”
“…Tell me about it”
Chinatsu talked happily to me while saying, “All right.”
“In honor of our upcoming sleepover, we’re both going to call each other by our nicknames~!”
“That’s all ….?”
“That’s all there is to it! That’s a good reason!”
“That’s why you started calling her by her nickname….”
A sleepover… I was thinking about what to do for dinner that day. However, I was thankful that Chinatsu and Kaede were getting along so well.
Kaede had said before that she didn’t have many close friends, so I thought we had really become good friends.
I thought it would be better for Kaede to have a friend other than myself that she could be comfortable with.
“Thank you, Chinatsu, for being good friends with Kaede.”
“What?! What? All of a sudden… Well, I also enjoy being with Kae-chan, and I don’t need to be thanked!”
She flashed me a cute smile. I knew she was an innocent and carefree girl.
As I was thinking about this, I felt a killing intent coming from beside me.
Takuto was looking at me, emitting a killing intent.
“W-What the h**l?”
“Don’t flirt with her, she’s my girlfriend.”
“I’m not flirting with her.”
“That’s right, Takuto, it’s fine! I love Takuto the most!…okay?”
She looked at Takuto as she said it. Then Takuto grinned at me.
Before, I always felt honestly weird when I saw this expression, but now I wondered if I had this look on my face too.
“I don’t like Chinatsu, I like Kaede.”
“Did….Did I just get dumped? I’m pissed~~~!”
“Ah, my bad.”
“Don’t apologize!”
Chinatsu said, Takuto consoled her, while I reflected a little on my comment.
Talking with these two made me feel less anxious. The other reason was that they were the only classmates who knew that Kaede and I were living together.
“Thank you, I hope I can consult with you again.”
“Well, if you want to talk about love, I’m here for you, okay?” Takuto said,
“Me too!”
After all, it seemed that high school students like to talk about love.
