Time flies, it seemed like it was Valentine’s Day the other day, but in another week or so, March 14 will be upon us.

Yes, it will be White Day.

Kaede had made me a handmade chocolate cake, so I was thinking about what to give her in return.

At first, I was thinking that a store-bought one such as famous chocolates would be fine, but if anything, I wanted to give her a handmade gift in return.

“Re~n, what are you going to do for White Day?”

Takuto asked me as soon as he saw me.

“I’m lost… what should I give?”

“I know right, I was also wondering what to give to Chinatsu, but this year I was thinking of giving her a scarf.”

“I see, something other than food,…that’s also an option”

“Well, that’s right, White Day is about conveying your feelings in return, no?”

I always thought of White Day as a time to give Kaede something to eat, but then I realized that it didn’t have to be food, it could be scarf or gloves, anything.

As expected, couples who have been together for many years are helpful in these situations. Thank you.

“Certainly… that’s right.”

“She’d be happy with anything.”

“Haah, is there anyone who makes sweets?”

I let out a sigh, and she poked me in the side.

“What are you sighing like that for!”

Chinatsu followed me over while letting out a cheerful voice as if to cheer me up.

“Ah, I’ve got a good idea.”

“What, Takuto?”

“Why don’t you ask Chinatsu to teach you how to make sweets?”

“Huh? Chinatsu?

“Isn’t Chinatsu good at making sweets too?”

“No, she might be, but …”

I didn’t want to ask Chinatsu because of what she did on Valentine’s Day. Or rather, she was not even on my list of candidates.

However, I remember that it tasted delicious except for that chili pepper and habanero in it.

I gazed at Chinatsu.

Chinatsu seemed to be unable to keep up with what we were talking about and was flustered.

“W-What! Ren and Takuto!

“Actually…”

I explained to Chinatsu what Takuto and I were talking about.

“I don’t mind teaching you, but after listening to your explanation, I don’t like the way you treated me earlier, so I want you to apologize, Ren.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I’m glad you’re being so honest. If you hadn’t apologized now, I would have told Kae-chan.”

Although I thought it was cowardly to bring out Kaede there, I felt I had a confidant on my side.

“Thanks, Chinatsu.”

“I don’t mind, but I wonder if there’s any reward.”

She glanced at me.

“I’ll buy you a crepe from in front of the station!”

“Fufun. That’s fine, let’s make some really delicious sweets and surprise her!”

With great vigor, she thrusted her arms upward in the classroom.
