As some of the strongest experts of the Heavenly Origin Ancient College, Feng Lingyuan, Duan Mu, and Li Hongyou took two steps forward. They could not lose out in terms of momentum.

"Duan Mu, ranked third," Duan Mu said with his hands still in his pockets. He studied the other three cautiously with his feminine eyes.

"Li Hongyou, ranked tenth." There was not much of an expression on Li Hongyou's cold face.

The leaders from the other teams did not step forward at this juncture. For such a meeting between the two ancient colleges, it was best for them to remain low since they were nowhere comparable. Opposite them, Yue Zhiyu crossed her arms. Her pointed chin rose slightly as she took the lead and said, "Yue Zhiyu, ranked third in Hallowed Coruscation Ancient College."

Wang Kong, the highest rank amongst them, was the last to introduce himself. However, he did not mind. He casually paced himself and said, "Wang Kong, ranked second. Dear friends from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College, it is nice to meet you all."

Feng Lingyuan took a look at Wang Kong. "Are you all here for Black Swamp City as well?"

"Obviously! Why else would we be here? The Hallowed Coruscation Ancient College is superior when it comes to fighting the Others," Yue Zhiyu replied arrogantly. She was truly the spitting image of a haughty young lady.

"Do you all possess light resonances?" Duan Mu raised his eyebrows. He could sense a wave of holy power coming from Yue Zhiyu.

"Lower ninth-grade light resonance," Yue Zhiyu replied proudly. After all, light resonances did have an advantage when it came to fighting Others.

The people from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College took a look at each other and sighed in their hearts. Yue Zhiyu was acting like a spoiled young lady, but they could not deny that her light resonance would be of significant help here. At the very least, they would be able to detect the traces of Others faster.

Wei Chonglou nodded slowly. "Of course. We were also ambushed by Greater Evil Spirits earlier."

Yue Zhiyu took a look at Black Swamp City in the distance. Her cute face turned serious. As a ninth-grade light resonance wielder, she was more sensitive to Others and corruption. She could tell with a glance that a terrifying amount of corruption was festering in the city.

"It seems like we'll have to work together if we want to clean up this city and save the captured students," Yue Zhiyu said.

"We have the same goals. I hope we can work together earnestly," Feng Lingyuan said with a nod. Both sides had the same goal. Although there was some degree of rivalry between them, it would not have a significant effect on their cooperation.

"When are we setting out?" Wang Kong asked.

Feng Lingyuan replied, "Let's wait a while more. If no other teams arrive, we'll go."

No one had any objections to this, so both sides waited patiently.

Muffled explosions continued booming in the sky above, forming white shockwaves.

The students from both sides were startled. Who had expected a fight to break out so suddenly?

Feng Lingyuan's face was cold. "Wei Chonglou, what're you trying to do?"

Wei Chonglou's body was covered in crimson flames. The pebbles by his feet had begun to melt as he calmly responded, "I am simply warning him to watch his words. This is not a place for a Heavenly Pearl like him to speak so casually."

Li Luo smiled. "What a domineering friend we have here. It's a pity I dislike working with such people."

"You can leave, then. No one will care if we have one less Heavenly Pearl brat." Wei Chonglou laughed out coldly.

Li Hongyou responded indifferently, "I care."

Her plans for the future all relied on Li Luo. In her eyes, she would protect Li Luo even if this meant that this mission would be a complete failure.

Feng Lingyuan shook her head helplessly. "If you want Li Luo to leave, we truly will be unable to work together."

Li Hongyou would leave as soon as Li Luo walked away. If that happened, her team would crumble as well. Therefore, she had no choice but to stand up for Li Luo.

Duan Mu snorted out coldly with both of his hands still in the pockets. "If you want to act like a tyrant, go back to the Hallowed Coruscation Ancient College. We don't deal with such things."

Although he wasn't very close with Li Luo, they were on the same side. Wei Chonglou had acted without a care for anything else. Such a rash personality was definitely not to his liking.

Wei Chonglou's face grew even darker. He did not expect an outsider like Li Luo to have obtained the support of so many from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College.

Yue Zhiyu was shocked as well. Li Luo had somehow managed to win people like Feng Lingyuan over to his side despite only being at the Heavenly Pearl Tier. He seemed to possess extraordinary charisma. And she knew that Li Luo was not from the Heavenly Origin Ancient College based on the intel she had gathered.

At this point, Wang Kong stepped forward. "Calm down, everyone. We have a great enemy in front of us. It's not wise to fight among ourselves."

Yue Zhiyu looked at Li Luo with a smile. "I don't mind. I just want to see how capable Jiang Qing'e's fiance is. I hope you can give me a pleasant surprise. Don't give me a chance to mock Jiang Qing'e."

Li Luo did not respond to her. He could tell that Yue Zhiyu didn't like Jiang Qing'e.

The confrontational air between both sides slowly subsided. However, it was clear that a rift had been created between the two parties.

As things calmed down, no one noticed that there was a pair of dark eyes watching everything that had occurred from the dark forest. The eyes were filled with a brutal coldness as they slowly closed, fading back into the woods before disappearing into thin air.
