Chapter 1201: Ninth-grade Waterlight Resonance
The commotion triggered by the Divine Cultivation Serum continued for the next seven days.
Li Luo didn’t have much to do during that time. The completion of the Divine Cultivation Serum was not up to him, so he could only watch silently from the side. After the initial anxiety settled down, he was a lot more relaxed. His greatest concern previously was the eyes of the outsiders. However, with Li Jingzhe standing guard, there was no need for Li Luo to worry at all.
He spent most of this time cultivating the Purgatory's Crimson Dragon Banner.
The completed version of the Three Dragons’ Heavenly Banner Canon had been on his mind ever since he first saw the Underworld River's Black Dragon Banner.
After a long time and significant amounts of hard work, he had finally gotten his hands on all three Duke Arts. He couldn't wait to fully cultivate the new art.
Nonetheless, cultivating the Purgatory's Crimson Dragon Banner required a fire resonance. This was a barrier to entry that Li Luo couldn’t break, because he lacked a fire resonance. The only solution for most people in his situation was to use fire resonance treasures to act as a catalyst.
However, Li Luo came up with a creative way around this problem—using his Acquired Resonance Flame as a substitute. Thus, he began his cultivation.
Alas, things did not go smoothly at the start. Li Luo tried multiple times, but the Acquired Resonance Flame showed no reaction despite his attempts. Nonetheless, he did not give up. He kept on experimenting and trying again after his repeated failures. Finally, wisps of flame began to flow out of the Acquired Resonance Flame.
Li Luo was pleasantly surprised to learn that his Acquired Resonance Flame actually contained some kind of energy with fire resonance energy.
Additionally, it had the special ability to ignite resonance energy.
If he utilized this Acquired Resonance Flame to activate his Purgatory's Crimson Dragon Banner, the final version of the Duke Art could contain such a special effect too. This meant that its destructive prowess would reach an even higher level.
Li Luo was pleased with this unexpected discovery.
His motivation was reignited, and he began to familiarize himself with the Purgatory's Crimson Dragon Banner. At the same time, he tried to fuse the Acquired Resonance Flame into it.
This was no easy task. Even with his natural gift when it came to learning resonance arts, failure was the norm. Vigorous energy explosions could be heard coming from his cultivation chamber one after another. His face was soon covered with a layer of soot.
However, Li Luo remained highly driven to succeed; the Divine Cultivation Serum had become an afterthought.
Fortunately, it was already near completion. There was no need for Li Luo to take care of it, as it would naturally brew itself.
Just like this, another seven days passed.
It had been nearly half a month since Li Luo started.
Suddenly, there was an unexpected movement in his chamber. Li Luo, who had been fully indulged in the cultivation of the Purgatory's Crimson Dragon Banner, looked up in a daze and stared at the golden cauldron.
The golden liquid that was originally inside the cauldron had disappeared. In its place was a golden pill that was around the size of an infant's fist.
The surface of the golden pill was transparent. Looking through it, he could see a lively, golden liquid flowing within. It was a magical liquid that seemed to cycle through the five elements continuously. It was truly a mystical sight.
Li Luo was shocked to hear the warning from Li Jingzhe. This was truly an incomparable treasure of the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. It had the ability to attract others to fight over it, all in an attempt to escape.
He was once again glad that he had not attempted to complete the Divine Cultivation Serum back in the Heavenly Origin Ancient College. Otherwise, the result would have been unimaginable.
He did not hesitate any longer and opened the cauldron with a push of his resonant power. The cover flew away and he reached in to grab the pill.
The pill shook violently, as if it was trying to flee.
"I spent so much effort to complete you, do you think I'll just let you escape?"
Li Luo smirked and directly put the pill into his mouth. He surrounded it with thick layers of resonant power and swallowed it.
Then he sat down with a serious expression and focused his mind. He could sense an enormous and pure energy about to course through his body.
This energy was similar to what he experienced when tempering his resonance with liquids and lights, invigorating the energy within his body.
His three resonant palaces roared loudly, as if they were all competing to take in the energy.
Li Luo tried his best to keep things under control. He pondered for a moment and tried to direct the energy into his waterlight resonant palace according to his initial plans. He had already decided beforehand that the first thing he would elevate to the ninth-grade would be his first acquired resonance. Li Luo watched in anticipation as the gargantuan amount of pure, concentrated energy poured into his waterlight resonant palace.
At the next moment, a drastic change occurred within his waterlight resonant palace.
The crystal-clear lake in his resonant palace began to expand at an astonishing speed.
Torrents of waves surged up and the sound of a roaring tide echoed throughout the palace. The whole lake evolved drastically.
Dazzling sparkles began to appear within the water. As the light intertwined with the waves, the water turned even clearer. Faintly, divine, purifying energy could be sensed within it.
Suddenly, a giant pillar of water shot up into the air from the midst of the magnificent lake. At the top of the pillar of water was a faint silhouette.
Upon closer inspection, the silhouette looked exactly like Li Luo. However, it was light-blue and surrounded by ancient light runes. With the appearance of this figure, the waterlight resonant palace was filled with an abstruse charm. Additionally, the whole resonant palace seemed to have become more solid.
Li Luo revealed a smile of satisfaction. He finally understood what the figure was.
It was something exclusive to ninth-grade resonances... a Spirit Avatar!
It was a sign of spirituality in one's resonance.
A waterlight Spirit Avatar.
Li Luo was overjoyed. He had finally fulfilled his dream of obtaining a ninth-grade resonance after so many years of hard work despite starting with nothing.
This belonged to him now. A ninth-grade waterlight resonance.
