Shen Tiantian was skeptical, wondering if she had really misheard. She puffed her cheeks and scratched her head.
Shan Yi’s eyes held a trace of amusement.
Although Shan Yue had taken the medicine, it probably wouldn’t have much effect on her sudden heat. That’s why the house always had sedatives on hand. When medicine couldn’t control it, an injection was necessary.
Shan Yi had also used it. Before she met Shen Tiantian, her arm was covered with numerous pinpricks from injections. Of course, no one in their family could escape this fate.
In the room, Shan Yue panted heavily, pressing Tian Jing beneath her. She buried her face in Tian Jing’s neck, each breath feeling like it was her last, with her chest tingling as if ants were biting her.
The faint scent of jasmine was familiar. Shan Yue unconsciously murmured, “Xiao Jing…”
Tian Jing, pinned on the bed, stiffened. She smiled bitterly and wrapped her arms around Shan Yue’s waist. “Mm, I’m here.”
“I miss you so much.” By now, Shan Yue’s voice was barely recognizable, raspy and hoarse. “I really miss you.”
“Mm, I know.”
Shan Yue suddenly became motionless, like a dead fish. If it weren’t for the warm breath on her neck, Tian Jing would have thought she was really dead.
After a while, Tian Jing grew tired and tentatively pushed Shan Yue’s shoulder. “Are you asleep?”
There was no response; Shan Yue remained still.
Tian Jing recalled that she had taken the medicine and assumed she had fallen asleep. She took a deep breath and carefully pried Shan Yue’s hands off, finally giving a strong push to roll her onto the bed.
“Don’t let go of me.” Shan Yue frowned and suddenly opened her eyes, looking at the woman standing by the bed.
The woman stood with her back to the window, the shadows obscuring half her face. Shan Yue couldn’t see her clearly but knew who she was.
She reached out to grab the woman’s hand, which felt cool and refreshing in the summer heat.
“Xiao Jing…”
Tian Jing swallowed and responded heavily, “I heard from Tiantian that you’re in heat.”
Shan Yue abruptly let go of her hand and tugged at her collar. “Did they ask you to come?”
Tian Jing replied, “No, they just called to tell me.”
Shan Yue was stunned for a moment, then looked up at her cautiously, asking, “So, you came on your own?”
“Mm.” Tian Jing raised an eyebrow. “If you don’t like it, I can leave right now.”
Shan Yue quickly reacted, grabbing the woman who was about to leave and throwing her back onto the bed with considerable force.
Caught off guard, Tian Jing instinctively reached out to grab something, but accidentally knocked the bedside lamp onto the floor with a crash. Pain shot through her hand, and she hissed. Shan Yue spread her long legs and straddled her waist, looking down at her. “Since you’re here, don’t think about leaving.”
“It hurts,” Tian Jing said, feeling wronged.
Only then did Shan Yue notice the redness on the back of her hand. She took it and kissed it gently, “I’m sorry.”
“Mm, I forgive you.”
“Really?!” Shan Yue looked delighted and lowered her head to kiss her.
………
…..
When Tian Jing woke up again, the sky outside was dark and gloomy, as if it was about to turn night.
Oh no, her daughter was still at school!
She jumped up from the bed but immediately fell back due to the soreness in her legs. The springy bed bounced her up again, waking the other woman from her slumber.
Shan Yue opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Tian Jing’s bare body. Her pupils gradually widened as memories of the afternoon came flooding back like seawater.
Realizing Shan Yue’s blatant gaze, Tian Jing belatedly pulled up the covers with a scream.
“Xiao Jing.” Shan Yue hugged her, covers and all. “I’m so happy.”
“Let go of me.” Tian Jing struggled.
“No, I won’t let go. I can never… no, I will never let you go again.” Shan Yue held her tighter.
“You…” Tian Jing knew her struggle was futile, so she gave up and asked hoarsely, “What time is it?”
Shan Yue looked at the clock on the other side of the bed. It had fallen to the floor but luckily was still intact thanks to the carpet.
The clock pointed to five. Shan Yue softly said, “It’s almost five.”
Only five? Then why was it so dark outside? She sniffed the air and sensed a hint of moisture. “Is it going to rain?”
“It seems so.” Shan Yue glanced out the window and then back at Tian Jing, gazing at her intently. “Can you stay tonight?”
Tian Jing glared at her. “Give me my phone.”
“Why do you need your phone now?” Shouldn’t they savor the long-lost intimacy a bit more?
“Tiantian has been out of school for a while. I didn’t ask Senior to pick her up, so she’s probably still waiting at school and might be anxious.” Thinking about her daughter possibly crying because she couldn’t find her, Tian Jing couldn’t help but endure the pain in her legs. She got out of bed and picked up her white shirt from the floor, giving it a shake, intending to put it on, but Shan Yue took it away.
Shan Yue said softly, “You can’t wear this. Wear mine.”
Tian Jing had come straight from work, still wearing her black business suit. The clothes, now crumpled and messy from being discarded on the floor, looked untidy.
Shan Yue pulled out a white T-shirt and casual shorts from the closet. She turned around, her eyes fixed on a certain spot as she licked her lips, savoring the moment.
Pervert!
Tian Jing clutched her chest, unable to hold back a curse. Urgently, she said, “Hurry up, Tiantian will cry if she doesn’t see me.”
Thinking of her daughter’s adorable face, Shan Yue immediately didn’t dare to delay any longer. After handing the clothes to Tian Jing, she also found herself a similar outfit, secretly putting on couple’s clothes.
Tian Jing moved quickly, hastily putting on her clothes, finding her black handbag left at the door, and retrieving her phone from inside. Sure enough, there were several missed calls from the school.
“I’m leaving,” Tian Jing said anxiously, pulling open the door and rushing out. Shan Yue, already dressed, followed closely behind and got into Tian Jing’s car.
Tian Jing’s mind was filled with thoughts of her daughter, and because of the events at noon, she felt a bit at a loss. For a moment, she didn’t talk to Shan Yue, who was looking pitifully at her wife from time to time, wondering if she was planning to sleep and not take responsibility?
At the red light, Tian Jing gently stepped on the brake.
She finally looked at Shan Yue, her tone tinged with annoyance. “Why are you staring at me?”
“Xiao Jing, our relationship now…” Shan Yue looked extremely pitiful.
“As it was before,” Tian Jing said expressionlessly.
Shan Yue was completely bewildered.
“As it was before? How was it before? Like we were dating before or like we are now?” Tian Jing’s expression was flat. “Act to my satisfaction.”
Shan Yue looked bewildered. “But didn’t you forgive me at noon?”
“I forgave you for what happened to my hand,” Tian Jing said coldly. “But I’m not willing. You can give up now.”
How could she give up? “It’s impossible.”
Tian Jing said nothing and started the car again.
When they arrived at St. De Kindergarten, it suddenly started raining, and the sky darkened completely. Tian Jing used her hand to shield her head and quickly ran to the security booth.
Because of her job, Tian Jing often didn’t arrive to pick up her daughter until 6:30. Fortunately, there was a duty teacher who knew about Tiantian’s single-parent family situation and was particularly tolerant of her, especially since Tiantian was so cute and well-behaved, there were few teachers who didn’t like such children.
As soon as she entered the office, Tian Jing saw her daughter sitting by the window. She called out softly, “Tiantian.”
The little one suddenly turned her head when she heard her mother’s voice, slid off her chair and ran over on her short legs, hugging Tian Jing’s thigh tightly.
Tian Jing’s eyes softened as she gently picked up her daughter. “Mommy’s here to pick up Tiantian.”
Tiantian murmured softly, “Mommy… late…”
Tian Jing understood her daughter’s meaning, and a trace of awkwardness flashed across her face. She subconsciously glanced at Shan Yue and smiled, saying, “Yes, Mommy was busy with work and came late, I’m sorry.”
At that moment, the teacher walked over with a smile, “Little Tiantian has been looking out the window since school ended, and she got upset when it started raining.”
“I’m sorry for causing you trouble.”
“No, not at all,” the teacher waved her hand quickly. “Since Miss Tian has arrived, I’ll head back to the dorm.”
“Alright, thank you.”
Shan Yue had just hung up the phone and walked towards Tian Jing. She nodded to the teacher she passed by.
“Tiantian,” Shan Yue called out to her daughter.
Tiantian quickly recognized her, stretching out her little hand, “Auntie~”
Shan Yue felt like she had been hit again. When would she be able to change this ‘Auntie’ title?! She was her real mother! But soon she didn’t have time to think about it, because now she had a soft, milky child in her arms.
Tian Jing said, “You take her, I’ll drive.”
Shan Yue willingly complied, flashing a sweet smile at her.
Tian Jing awkwardly averted her gaze and walked quickly ahead.
“Mama, I’m hungry~”
She’d suddenly left work at noon, and now she hadn’t eaten all afternoon. When she heard her daughter’s words, Tian Jing’s stomach made a strange gurgling sound.
Shan Yue heard it and chuckled.
Tian Jing gave her an annoyed look. Anyone else could laugh, but she wasn’t allowed to laugh. Who was responsible for her?
Shan Yue immediately stopped laughing, “My bad. Shall we go eat now?”
Children shouldn’t be hungry, and it would be too late to cook at home now. She was tired and didn’t want to cook, so she agreed with Shan Yue.
Tiantian immediately raised her little hand, “Ah~ I want chicken drumsticks.”
Shan Yue looked at Tian Jing’s back and thought that she really did get to eat chicken drumsticks today, even though she hadn’t eaten anything all day. But seeing Tian Jing, she felt like she didn’t need to eat.
“What does Mama want to eat?”
“Mama~”
Shan Yue could pretend not to hear, but her daughter called her. Tian Jing had to stop and turn around, “Hmm?”
“Auntie asks Mama what she wants?”
She had heard her daughter’s words. To make up for being late today, she planned to take her daughter to eat KFC. “Just like Tiantian, Mama wants to eat chicken drumsticks.”
“Ah!! Auntie.” Tiantian’s meaning was obvious. Look, Mama wants chicken drumsticks just like me, and she was excited with a blushing face.
“Alright, alright, chicken drumsticks,” Shan Yue said helplessly.
Walking ahead, Tian Jing listened to the conversation between the two mothers and daughters, and something seemed to collapse in her heart. A faint smile appeared at the corner of her eyes.
She didn’t know how long Shan Yue could persist, a month or two? But she was already looking forward to it. She wanted to see how proud and arrogant Shan Yue could be.
Has she changed over the years, becoming more mature?
She didn’t know.
