Because their daughter was still breastfeeding, their honeymoon plans were repeatedly postponed. When Hanhan was two months old, Shan Yi’s heat cycle began.

Suppressing her desires, Shan Yi handed their daughter to her mother and then pushed Shen Tiantian onto the bed. Fortunately, Shen Tiantian had recovered well over the past two months, but after being thoroughly “devoured,” she couldn’t get up the next morning.

She had seen Shan Yue in heat before, but Shan Yi, without taking any medication, seemed even more intense. Her whole body was feverish, her face flushed, yet she was still gentle during the process.

Shen Tiantian touched her own belly and asked, “Will I get pregnant again?” Having gone through it once, she felt quite overwhelmed. She had just given birth, and her belly hadn’t fully flattened yet. If she got pregnant with a second child now, she would cry.

Shan Yi paused, her expression somewhat awkward. “Take birth control pills.”

Since they were both women, they couldn’t avoid pregnancy without surgery, so they had to rely on medication.

Shen Tiantian looked miserable. “Can we do this less often in the future?”

Shan Yi’s face turned blue. “No.”

Shen Tiantian just stared at her.

Shan Yi, feeling guilty, rubbed her nose and said, “I’ll take you to clean up, then go buy some birth control pills.”

Shen Tiantian didn’t say anything, just held onto her wife tightly as she was placed in the bathtub filled with warm water. The warm water provided some relief from the soreness. She watched Shan Yi undress, her face blushing, but her eyes couldn’t look away.

Noticing her wife’s gaze, Shan Yi subtly smiled. “Satisfied?”

“No.”

After giving birth, her belly had become plump and covered with a few unsightly stretch marks. Despite applying medication daily, the deeper ones had yet to fade. She had always admired Shan Yi’s figure, and now she envied it even more. Stubbornly, she said, “I want to work on getting abs too.”

Shan Yi replied, “Alright, I’ll work out with you.”

Shen Tiantian muttered softly, “Your body is already perfect, what’s the point of working out more…”

Her wife’s pouty, aggrieved expression was so adorable that Shan Yi couldn’t resist leaning in to give her a kiss. In a low voice, she said, “Then I’ll gain some weight.”

Shen Tiantian: …

“I think you’re deliberately mocking me, but I have no proof.”

Shan Yi was amused by her words and laughed out loud, raising her hand. “Heaven knows I’m innocent.”

Shen Tiantian glared at her, then suddenly smiled. “I’m not talking to you anymore. I want to take a bath.”

“Alright, alright.”

After a long bath, Shen Tiantian was carried back to the bedroom. As soon as she lay down, she fell into a deep sleep without having breakfast.

Shan Yi gently kissed her wife on the forehead before leaving the room.

Their little one had missed her mother all night and had kept Shan Yi’s parents up. Now, she was still asleep.

Mother Shan looked a bit tired as she sat in the living room, holding a cup of milk. When she saw her daughter, she asked, “How is Tiantian?”

Shan Yi paused for a moment before replying, “She’s alright.”

Mother Shan looked at her, hesitating as if she wanted to say something but wasn’t sure if she should. Shan Yi could guess what her mother was thinking and spoke first. “I’m going out to buy some birth control pills.”

“Oh… alright. Try to get some that are gentle on the body,” Mother Shan said absentmindedly.

“I know.”

Just as Shan Yi stepped out, Hanhan woke up, her loud cries echoing through the house. Mother Shan quickly put down her milk and hurried to the bedroom to pick up the baby.

The little one recognized people. Having not seen her mother for a whole day and night, she refused to be comforted by anyone else. Feeling sorry for the baby, Mother Shan reluctantly woke Shen Tiantian.

The baby’s cries were loud and persistent, and since Shen Tiantian had been sleeping fitfully, she woke up immediately when Mother Shan knocked on the door.

Smelling the familiar comforting scent, the baby struggled to be held by Shen Tiantian.

Mother Shan looked a bit guilty. “I’m sorry to wake you. Hanhan wouldn’t stop crying, and I didn’t know what else to do.”

“It’s okay, let me take over.” Shen Tiantian took the baby, who immediately clung tightly to her chest, as if afraid she would leave again.

Shen Tiantian’s eyes were still groggy. Seeing the dark circles under her mother-in-law’s eyes, she knew her daughter had given her grandmother a hard time. She said sympathetically, “Thank you, Mom. You should go back and get some rest.”

Mother Shan waved her hand, saying, “Taking care of a child is always tiring.”

“Thank you.”

“I’ll head down now. You go ahead and comfort Hanhan.”

“Okay.”

After closing the door, the little one stopped crying but was still hiccuping from crying for so long.

Shen Tiantian returned to bed, gently wiping her daughter’s swollen eyes with her thumb, feeling heartbroken.

The baby whimpered softly, then suddenly bit through her clothing, searching for food. When she couldn’t get anything, she opened her mouth, ready to cry again.

Knowing she was hungry, Shen Tiantian quickly unbuttoned her blouse, and the baby latched on accurately.

“Ah…” Shen Tiantian winced at the bite, furrowing her brows slightly. But seeing the satisfied look on her daughter’s face, she found it all worthwhile.

When Shan Yi returned, the baby had just finished feeding and let go. Milk stains, like little plum blossoms, dotted Shen Tiantian’s collar…

Shan Yi’s gaze darkened, almost pouncing over.

She looked at her daughter in Shen Tiantian’s arms with a hint of displeasure. Remembering the store clerk’s reminder when buying the medication, she sighed and said, “Let’s switch Hanhan to formula for a few days.”

Shen Tiantian frowned in confusion. “Why? Why so suddenly?”

Seeing her wife’s worried expression, Shan Yi quickly reassured her, “The side effects of birth control pills during breastfeeding are significant and not good for the baby.”

Shen Tiantian was taken aback but nodded, “Got it.”

“Should you take the pills now?”

Shen Tiantian nodded, “Yes, you put Hanhan to sleep. I’ll handle it myself.”

Shan Yi looked deeply at her before taking their daughter.

The baby, exhausted from crying and full from nursing, was getting drowsy. When she was transferred to Shan Yi’s arms, she opened her eyes suddenly. Recognizing her familiar mother, she quickly closed her eyes again and fell into a sweet sleep.

…..

After Hanhan’s hundred-day banquet, Shan Yi resumed work.

Shen Tiantian stayed home to take care of the baby. She was no longer as emotional as she had been right after giving birth and looked much healthier. Occasionally, she would visit the Lin family with her daughter, and the two babies, seeing each other often, started to communicate with their eyes.

Shen Tiantian had always wanted to open a flower shop, a dream she had nurtured since learning floral arrangement during her pregnancy. But Shan Yi suggested she wait a bit since the baby was still young. She was also worried Shen Tiantian would be too exhausted, often taking over childcare duties after work.

With time, Shen Tiantian became adept at taking care of the baby.

When Hanhan was ten months old, she was weaned. Her two mothers, who had been waiting patiently, finally left her behind without hesitation to go to Thailand for their long-overdue honeymoon.

Shen Tiantian looked out the window, the sky growing darker, and said softly, “I wonder if the baby will be fussy.”

They planned to be away for half a month, but on their first day out, just after arriving at the hotel, Shen Tiantian already missed her daughter. She worried about how she was doing with her grandmother and if she would cry from missing them…

“Do you think we shouldn’t have left her at home?”

Shan Yi, organizing their belongings, laughed, “Shall we go back tomorrow?”

Shen Tiantian turned to her sharply, her eyes wide.

“Would it kill you to comfort her? Doesn’t she worry about our daughter?!”

Shan Yi smiled, walked over, and hugged her. “Alright, Mom will take good care of Hanhan. If there’s any problem, she’ll call us. Just relax and enjoy your time here.”

Shen Tiantian was silent for a moment, then said, “But… I miss her.”

Shan Yi kissed her lips and started to caress her. “You should be thinking about me right now. Think about how long it’s been since we last did it.”

Shen Tiantian blushed and immediately pushed her away.

Since the heat that day, they had only done it a handful of times because of their daughter. Shan Yi had planned to make up for it on this trip and didn’t want anything to spoil it, not even their daughter.

Shan Yi pulled her back, looking pitiful. “For our daughter, I’ve held back for two years.”

During pregnancy, they couldn’t do it freely. After giving birth, breastfeeding and the fear of another pregnancy kept them from being intimate. Now that the breastfeeding was over and they were traveling, she wanted to make up for lost time.

Shen Tiantian looked at her, exasperated. “Has it really been two years?”

“You were pregnant for nine months, then ten months of breastfeeding…”

“Wait…” Shen Tiantian interrupted her, “Didn’t you still do it during that time? You’ve done everything you shouldn’t have done.”

Shan Yi was at a loss for words.

“You even took advantage of me while I was asleep.” That time almost caused a miscarriage, and she ended up in the hospital for a week. How could Shan Yi claim she had been holding back?

Shan Yi’s face turned red with embarrassment. “It didn’t count because it wasn’t satisfying.”

Shen Tiantian was speechless. “What more do you want?!”

Shan Yi suddenly flashed a mischievous smile, quickly pinning her down. “Let me demonstrate.”

Shen Tiantian’s protests were muffled by Shan Yi’s kiss.

On the first day of their honeymoon, Shen Tiantian spent the whole day in bed.

The second day…

The third day…

Shen Tiantian finally exploded, “Are you done yet?!”

She couldn’t tell if they were on a honeymoon or just spending time in bed. Who spends their honeymoon entirely in bed?

Seeing her wife getting angry, Shan Yi immediately hugged her to soothe her, trying to distract her. “We’ll go to Phi Phi Island tomorrow.”

“What about today?” Shen Tiantian demanded.

It was only ten in the morning. Were they going to spend the whole day doing it again? The thought scared her. If they continued, she felt like she’d fall apart.

Shan Yi replied, “Today, we’ll rest and regain our strength.”

Shen Tiantian looked skeptical. “Are you sure you won’t try anything?”

Shan Yi chuckled, kissing her forehead. “Yes, you should rest.”

“Really?” Shen Tiantian was still doubtful.

Shan Yi nodded. “I’ll call room service, we’ll eat something, and then you can nap.”

Shen Tiantian mumbled an acknowledgment and was about to get up to wash when her back cracked. She grimaced and called out Shan Yi’s name through gritted teeth.

There was no way she would admit she was too sore to get out of bed.

Shan Yi, understanding immediately, laughed while also feeling a bit worried. She helped Shen Tiantian up, teasing, “Your stamina is getting worse.”

Shen Tiantian glared at her. “You try being on the receiving end for three days straight!”

Feeling guilty, Shan Yi rubbed her nose. “Are you alright?”

Shen Tiantian sighed, “Aren’t you tired?”

Shan Yi, as the active one, was naturally tired too, but her stamina was much better, so she appeared more composed.

It’s so unfair, Shen Tiantian muttered.

Shan Yi helped her to the bathroom. “We’re out of birth control. I’ll go buy some.”

Shen Tiantian murmured an acknowledgment. They hadn’t brought any with them, and the only box they had was already finished.

Taking birth control too often isn’t good for the body and can easily lead to infertility. Shen Tiantian was silent for a while and then said, “You’re not in heat now, so the chances of getting pregnant should be low. How about we skip it today?”

Shan Yi asked, “What if you accidentally get pregnant?”

Shen Tiantian answered without hesitation, “Then we’ll keep it.”

“Aren’t you afraid of the pain?”

“It doesn’t mean I’ll get pregnant.”

Hopefully not. They had just started having a “normal” married life, and she didn’t want Shen Tiantian to go through another pregnancy. She was heartbroken enough when Shen Tiantian gave birth to Shan Yunhan.

Thinking of this, Shan Yi said no more.
