Simon did not cower, and instead shouted towards the Regiment Commander Locke across the member of the Mercenary Regiment: "Are you a Regiment Commander Locke of the Black Wolf Mercenary Regiment, I have something very important to tell you."
It was not loud, and the surroundings were once again filled with noise, but Regiment Commander Locke was not an ordinary person, upon seeing that it was a seven or eight year old child, he had a serious expression on his face, as if he was not a child of his age. He had wanted to get his subordinates to send him away, but he suddenly changed his mind, thinking that he might regret missing out on this child.
How could a seven or eight-year-old kid be a threat? A dignified swordmaster would only be embarrassed if a child got out. Seeing that the leader had already spoken, his men did not stop him.
"What's your name? What business do you have with this captain?" Regiment Commander Locke squinted his eyes and sized Simon up. Although he did not think that the enemy would send a child to ambush him, he did not dare to let his guard down.
"My name is Simon, I heard that you guys placed a bounty." Simon answered truthfully according to what Rex had taught him. There was no panic on his face, only a sense of nervousness.
Regiment Commander Locke was so excited that he stood up, staring at Simon with fiery eyes, calling him a new parent would not be an exaggeration.
Those young masters were not ordinary people, if anything happened to them, they would all be in trouble, and even though the time from the offering of the bounty to now wasn't long, their mood was plummeting like a roller coaster.
On the other hand, they were truly worried that something had happened to the young masters. They had an important mission on their hands, so they were so anxious that their hair almost fell off. Now that they heard someone was looking for them because of the bounty, they felt as if they had seen God.
"Simon right? Do you know the information about the person I'm looking for?" Regiment Commander Locke took a deep breath and stared at him with a hint of nervousness and apprehension.
Simon hesitated for a moment before nodding, "I'm not sure if those people I saw were the people you were looking for, but they did look a little similar to the ones you described."
The reason was because Carlos and the other young masters had not been in the Black Wolf Mercenary Regiment for long, and very few people had seen them. If the other party had spoken with certainty to start the conversation, it would have been suspicious, but in order to confirm that the child was indeed looking at them, the Regiment Commander Locke asked Simon a few questions, such as the color of their clothes, and other accessories they had.
Simon answered them one by one, but he did not answer all of them. Some of the questions only gave a vague answer, or maybe he did not know, and that was all taught to him by Rex.
Regiment Commander Locke was certain that the people he saw were Carlos and the rest, and immediately became excited, and asked for their whereabouts.
Furthermore, when Regiment Commander Locke asked Simon, he had already sent people to investigate Simon's identity, and the answer they received was naturally ordinary civilian guides, especially for the level of a guide. People of this profession would usually wander around the main streets of the town, and there was a large chance that they would see the people who went in and out of the town.
After leaving the inn, Simon made sure that he did not follow them and secretly went to the agreed location.
"Sir, I have already told them as you instructed." Simon carried a heavy bag of gold coins. He had never seen so much gold coins in his life before, and it was so heavy that he felt like he couldn't lift it.
"You did well, this bag of gold is yours." Rex had already seen that Regiment Commander Locke did not have any doubts, so he was very satisfied with Simon.
Simon was startled, "Sir, this, this is truly too much, I am only helping to pass the message, the reward is already given by you."
Ge Yan noticed that Simon's first reaction to hearing these words was not to be happy, but rather to act in a panic and worry. It was obvious that he had appeared so calm in front of them the first time they had met each other.
A thousand gold coins was indeed a heavy burden to a person who had never had a thousand gold coins before. In fact, when Simon came out of the inn, they saw two or three people with ill intentions following him out. Of course, they were all taken care of by Rex in the end.
