Arc-2 Chapter-1: What is Special Preparations?

Its been about a year and two month since the first broadcast of my and Yukiho's desert island exploration show; "Extreme Realism: Fearful Life on a Deserted Island."

During that time, we have been steadily filming about once or twice a month.

It always go like this. Yukihi and I spend time on the island without thinking about the amount of work we have to do, and if we are free the day after filming, we spend the night on the island. If not, we just head back to mainland.

However, this time is different. Because after filming today and tomorrow we'll have 2 days off. And its back to work after that.

This is an incredibly tough schedule, but there is a reason for it.

The next episode will be a three-hour extended special, and two women will be making guest appearances. Both of them belong to the same agency as us. In other words, they are "barters".

"Do you think this is enough?"

"I think we're making too much."

"Because this is too much fun! Besides, Yui and Kaho-chan will probably want to a lot of food too!"

"You have a point."

We're currently desperately trying to make preserved food such as, Dried Meat, Dried Fish, Dried Rice and even Dried Fruit on the beach.

It is my job to make the bamboo into a colander for drying in the sun, and it is Yukiho's job to put the sliced food on the colander.

The fish and fruit we used were from the island while the meat and rise were from the supermarket. Of course there will be a scene of us buying them on the show. We usually don't buy stuff from the market, but this time it is special.

"Just so you know, wash you hands before you touch anything, okay? And do it carefully."

"Why~?" Grinning, Yukiho turned her palm towards me.

Even though we are far from each other, I could still smell the fish as if I were in a fish market.

"You know what I meant, you stink!"

"I don't think so, do you?"

"Well, Yukiho usually smells terrible."

"That's so mean! The old Daikichi-kun would never have said that....."

"And the old Yukiho wouldn't be smirking at me while turning her fishy smelly hands at me."

"Gu- That's...to say..."

I chuckled and stood up to approach Yukiho.

"This is the last of the colanders. I'll take over the rest."

"Roger! What should I do next?"

But then, Yukiho glanced at the ground. There is a handmade harpoon lying there.

I made this one with materials I got from a local store.

The reason I went to the trouble of making it was out of consideration for the viewership numbers. If you buy the finished product, you will get grief, but if you make it yourself with the materials you bought, it will be popular.

"You may go under the sea and stab as many fish as you like."

"As expected, Daikichi-kun, you know your stuff!"

Yukiho loves to dive in the sea. When she stabs a fish with her harpoon, she shouts, "I did it!"

Her diving is one of the most popular scenes in the show. The reason is that Yukiho only wears a swimsuit for this event. When she was an idol, she was not allowed to do kissing scenes or even wear a swimsuit.

(Oh, a service scene!)

Yukiho starts to take off her jersey. I took my handheld camera and focused on her.

"♪ I'm already wearing it! Mmmfufu!"

Underneath the jersey was a swimsuit. It was a cute white bikini, and the level of exposure was nothing short of normal. It went well with her untanned skin and silvery white hair.

"Wouldn't it be better if you were undressing?"

"Is that so? Not underwear, but a swimsuit?"

"Mmhmm"

"Then I shall undress!"

Yukiho started to put on and take off her jersey repeatedly. Apparently, she wanted to be filmed taking it off a lot. I think it was to please the viewers, but the idea was misguided.

"I don't think that's right, and your statement about taking my clothes off is dangerous..."

"Oh, dear."

Yukio picked up the harpoon and reached into the backpack beside it. She took out her goggles and put them on.

"Well then, I, Takamine Yukiho, am off!"

For some reason, she saluted me. I thought she was cute no matter what she did, so I saluted her too.

"Please do your best! Capt. Takamine!"

"Yes sir!"

Yukiho ran toward the sea saying, "Yoo-hoo!"

"Oh, wait! You forgot your camera!"

My voice didn't reach her.

"She's very professional, but there's something missing, isn't there?"

I chased after her with a wry smile, "Go figure."

Once the food is dried in the sun, I call the crew. The filming is still going on, but there was something I had to let them know first.

"The dried meat I'm making here will be ready the day after tomorrow at noon."

"Where should I take it once it's finished?"

"In the cave, please."

"All right."

When the dried meat is ready, we won't be on the island. So we needed to have it brought to our base.

"Daikichi-kun, your communication with the staff is getting better!"

Yukiho smiles as she points her handheld camera at me. Even the interactions with the staff are used in the show. That's what I call "Extreme Realism: Fearful Life on a Deserted Island!"

"I'll leave you to it."

After the instructions were given, the staff moved away. When they were out of sight, we resumed.

"I think it's time to go back to the base and have dinner. Fish will be enough for dinner tonight, right?"

"Yeah! So which base are we going to?"

"From here, it would be the...pit dwelling."

Yukiho nodded, "Ok."

"Well, can I take a dip in the river on the way? I'm all sticky from diving in the ocean!"

"I agree. I'm sticky too, from chasing after some idiot who forgot to put her camera on."

"Mou~ Don't call me an idiot."

"But it's true."

"Hmph! I'll make fun of you a lot when you screw up, Daikichi-kun!"

"I'm looking forward to it."

We put the processed fish in earthenware containers and moved on. After bathing in the river as planned, we had dinner at the base.

The next day was also trouble-free, and the recording was completed successfully. When we got back to the mainland, we did some tests and found no abnormalities, so we launched off.

After a short break, the day for the special recording came. This recording was also supposed to go off without any problems.
