Zhao Xin had never seen a girl as gentle as Ming Zhu, she felt so comfortable when she was with her, so much so that her whole body felt relaxed. She felt that her brother should really marry her.
The status of a concubine was really too low.
Although Zhao Xin had grown up as a pampered princess, it didn’t mean that she was unaware about the nasty matters going on in women’s backyard, the difference in status was enough to crush a person to death.
She also heard that the Ming family didn’t attach much importance to her, didn’t care whether she lived or died, there was no need to even hope they would have her back in the future.
Zhao Xin couldn’t help her escape, but she could help her meet with her ex-fiancé, let them chat as a little consolation.
“It’s good that you don’t like my big brother.” She said with melancholy.
If she did, that would be even worse for her.
Chapter 95
(33.4)
Zhao Xin had only been in Ming Zhu’s courtyard for a moment that already people came to urge her, it was clear that they had received Zhao Zhi’s instructions not to let Zhao Xin stay with Ming Zhu for too long.
Zhao Xin was a little annoyed, “You all better not meddle in my affairs.”
“Your Highness has to go back to the palace this afternoon.”
“Who said I have to go back?”
“His Highness the crown prince has ordered it.”
“He will definitely be a tyrant in the future!”
Anyway Zhao Xin really couldn’t bear to stay any longer in this crown prince’s residence! There were too many rules here, no one was going along with her wishes, getting up and eating was every day a torture in itself.
The only thing she was sad about and couldn’t bear to leave was Ming Zhu.
She said, “I’ll come back to see you more often in future.”
“Good.” Ming Zhu took the initiative to hold her hand and, in a voice that only the both of them could hear, asked, “Princess, can you lend me some more money?”
If it was silver, Zhao Xin had plenty of it.
Her big brother was really too stingy, he wouldn’t even spend silver on his own woman. Yesterday, when she took her to the medicine shop to consult a doctor, Zhao Xin was absolutely astonished to find out that Zhu Zhu didn’t even have a penny for herself.
She was too pitiful.
Really too pitiful.
Zhao Xin gave her a few dozen silver notes, “Take these, in the future, if you don’t have enough silver, you can have someone come find me.”
Ming Zhu hid the money in her sleeve, “Thank you.”
It was still early in the day, so Zhao Xin dragged Ming Zhu to the lake in the back garden to watch the peach flowers which had just blossomed. She then ordered the servants to set up snacks in the pavilion by the lake.
The lotus leaves by the lakeside were gradually turning green. Come summer, these lotus flowers would all bloom one after another.
Before, when Ming Zhu was still in the Ming’s residence, whenever no one was around, she especially liked to take off her socks and pick up lotus leaves, that she would then cook along with rice.
Seeing that Zhao Xin was getting bored, Ming Zhu asked her, “Do you want to get into the water to catch fish?”
The lake was not deep and the water was crystal clear. Ming Zhu had noticed before that there were many fish in the lake that could be eaten.
Zhao Xin was tempted, “I do. Why don’t we do it together ? We’ll catch some fish and then stew it.”
In front of her, Ming Zhu was somewhat as lively as a little girl, she said, “Okay.”
The sun was blazing, so Ming Zhu put on a protective hat and helped Zhao Xin put on her hat as well, they then rolled up their trousers and went down into the water.
Both of them stood in the shallow water, not daring to go deeper. Even after a long time of effort, Zhao Xin still didn’t manage to catch a single fish, they would all slip away as soon as they were into her hands.
She then started getting busy sulking.
On the other hand, Ming Zhu had managed to catch a lively fish which she was firmly clutching into her hands, she turned around with a smile, “Look, I caught one!”
More dazzling than the sunlight was her smile.
As Zhao Zhi and Sheng Wenlin got closer to the center of the lake, this was the image that caught their eyes.
The bright sunlight pouring on her, her unreserved and splendid smile, her eyes curved into half-moons, the apple of her eyes black and limpid. When she smiled joyfully, she looked more beautiful than the stars in the sky.

Zhao Zhi’s pitch black eyes were hooked on her, staring at her face. His expression looked calm as the raging, screaming desire in the bottom of his eyes was already gone by. Without a change of expression, he clenched his thumbs. He didn’t utter a sound for a while, nor did he disturb her.
Sheng Wenlin’s breath uncontrollably slowed down as he looked at the scene, stunned as if he had just lost his soul.
Zhao Zhi turned his body sideways intentionally to block his line of sight, “Let’s go to the front yard.”
Hearing his voice, Sheng Wenlin then snapped out of his trance, forcing himself to appear calm and composed, he nodded his head and hummed.
Ming Zhu didn’t know that Zhao Zhi had come and gone, she handed the fish she was holding to Zhao Xin, “Do you want it?”
Zhao Xin nodded her head, “Yes, yes, yes!”
The fish was so slippery that she couldn’t hold it and it flew out of her hand.
Zhao Xin almost died of anger, after trying for half a day, she still didn’t manage to catch one. She then lost interest in it and simply stopped trying to catch fish.
The two of them sat on the shore and put on their shoes and socks again, before taking off their protective hats and sitting in the pavilion to rest.
The spring sunlight was hot, Ming Zhu felt a bit uncomfortable because of the heat, there were tiny beads of sweat on her forehead. She drank water while fanning herself.
Zhao Xin also felt a bit listless from the sun exposure, she laid softly on the stone table, saying in admiration, “Zhu Zhu, how come you can catch fish ah?”
Ming Zhu thought back about it seriously, “I used to fish a lot when I was a child, I have experience.”
Zhao Xin was surprised, “You went into the water to catch fishes when you were a child?”
“Yes.”
“I thought you were good and obedient since childhood.”
She didn’t seem like a girl who would do something like go into the water and catch fishes.
Before her mother passed away, Ming Zhu’s days were quite easy and unrestrained, her mother never restrained her on little pleasures, even if she wanted to roll in the snow, her mother wouldn’t stop her.
She was just more formal and reserved in front of outsiders, hiding her naive and childish side.
