Wei Chiyu was still a little worried. He urged and warned her repeatedly, “Zhu Zhu, do not leave this room today, hide for a while.”
Ming Zhu also knew that he was saying this for her own good, her body was now heavy, so she did not want to move around much in the first place, she said, “I’m not going to go anywhere.”
Wei Chiyu got out of the temple and went to the foot of the mountain to buy her delicious food.
The shop owner, seeing how much food he was carrying in his hand, asked with a smile, “Gongzi, will you be able to eat everything when you go back?”
Wei Chiyu smiled, and then said, “My wife is a little glutton.”
“Your wife is really blessed.”
Wei Chiyu took the wrapped pastries and when he turned around, he saw Zhao Zhi, who was staring at him with a thoughtful look.
Zhao Zhi took a side glance at the food in his hand and his brows furrowed, “When did Lord Wei get married?”
Wei Chiyu did not panic in the slightest, and just faintly smiled, “I will very soon.”

The corners of Zhao Zhi’s mouth hooked up, there was a cynical sneer in the bottom of his eyes as he coldly looked at him. He indifferently said “congratulations”.
Whenever Zhao Zhi saw Wei Chiyu, he was always displeased, he did not want to talk too much to him, so he just turned around and left the temple.
Wei Chiyu returned to the wing-room at the back of the temple with the food. Ming Zhu, who was lying on the table, had fallen asleep. The light coming through the windowpane was shining on her face, her loose hair was scattered against the back of her waist, her sleeping face looked peaceful, her skin was like ice and jade, her cherry lips were slightly open, and her dense black eyelashes were curtaining her eyelids. She looked cute and lovely.
He stretched out his hand but stopped mid-air, his thin and snow-white fingers curled up silently, as he did not have the heart to wake her up.
Since she had gotten pregnant, Ming Zhu had been craving sleep, sometimes even when she was talking to Hong Ling, she could fall asleep, leaning against the edge of the bed. She slept frequently but not for long and when she woke up from her deep sleep, only half an hour had passed.
There was no one in the room. When she raised her hand, the cloak covering her body slowly slipped off her shoulders. The snow-colored cloak was thick and warm, and there was a clean pine fragrance on it.
When Wei Chiyu pushed open the door of the room, he saw that she was awake, and asked, “Are you cold?”
There was a cold breeze continuously coming in from the window. It had heavily rained the night before, and today she was only wearing a thin jacket that couldn’t block the cold air.
Ming Zhu, who had just woken up, felt weak in her limbs, her expression looked a bit dazed, there were two marks on her delicate snow-white cheeks. She shook her head, “I’m not cold.”
She was just a little tired.
Wei Chiyu looked at her for a moment longer, the girl’s complexion was rosy, there was a layer of hazy water in her eyes, the corners of her eyes were flushed with red, she had the charming appearance of a slightly drunken woman, and she clearly had not gotten enough sleep.
He silently lowered his eyes, “Come and have something to eat.”
It wasn’t like Ming Zhu had never been alone with him in a room before, yet she didn’t know what was going on, but she couldn’t interact with him naturally these days, she was always conscious about what was going on and started to blush every time she started to overthink.
She walked slowly to the table. When she smelled the aroma of the pastries, she started swallowing her saliva. Her stomach even growled a few times, and she was so embarrassed she didn’t want to lift her head.
Recently, Ming Zhu could not stop eating, and she ended up eating all the food on the table. After eating and drinking, she leaned back in her chair, not feeling like moving.
Wei Chiyu suddenly extended his hand towards her, his fingertips almost touched her cheek, but Ming Zhu, nervous and embarrassed, turned away her face.
Wei Chiyu paused. His warm fingertips gently held her chin and wiped away the crumbs from the corner of her mouth, “There.”
He seemed to have just done a very common action, he was still calm and undisturbed.
Ming Zhu was not so calm, her ears turned soft and numb, they were hot and red, like they were burning up.
Outside the window, the sky was getting dark, the window was not very windproof, the room was turning a little cold, the shaking light of the several oil lamps was not very bright. It was fortunate for her, this way no one could see her already thoroughly red cheeks.
She breathed deeply and admonished herself over and over again in her heart, Wei Chiyu was an honest gentleman. In the past he even used to comb her hair in a bun, and yet she didn’t think anything of it.
Wei Chiyu did not trouble her for too long, “Sleep well tonight, tomorrow morning at dawn we will go back.”
“Mmh.”
But very soon, the old wooden door was pushed open from the outside, as Wei Chiyu walked in, carrying two quilts. She slightly opened her mouth, a little surprised, “This is?”
Wei Chiyu helped her make the bed as he explained, “The cold wind is too strong.”
This room was all year-round poorly lit, it didn’t get much exposure to the sun. The continuous autumn rain added further to the problem.
Ming Zhu actually also felt it was a little cold, she was planning to wear two pairs of socks to sleep.
Wei Chiyu went to fill with water a hand warmer for her, so that she could be kept warm.
Ming Zhu’s placed her cold hands against the hand warmer, and felt her whole body warm up a lot, she whispered to him “Thank you”.
The corners of Wei Chiyu’s mouth lightly raised, he gently stroked her hair, “Sleep now.”
