Sitting in the car, Lin Qingyan unknowingly fell asleep.

He had only slept for a little over two hours last night, and worked for most of the day today. His body had long been exhausted, but his mind has been remained tense until now, it was only now that he relaxed.

He slept deeply, and after more than half an hour, Gu Fei parked the car outside the villa. The person beside him was still asleep. The young man looked even more adorable when he was sleeping, no one could bear to disturb him.

Gu Fei didn’t disturb him. He silently gazed at Lin Qingyan for two minutes, then moved slowly out of the car. He opened the passenger’s door, unfastened the seatbelt around the young man.

The strong and powerful arms of the man, covered under the fabric, embraced the bends of the young man’s legs and his back. Bending down, he picked up the young man horizontally.

Although Lin Qingyan was thin, he still weighed around a hundred pounds, but Gu Fei’s arms, he seemed weightless. Gu Fei easily carried him into the house. Gu Fei still maintained his calm expression, but his gaze softened, just a little bit.

At this time, all the servants were gone, and only Butler Shen was in the living room, cleaning a vase. Seeing Master Gu returning with someone in his arms, Butler Shen still maintained a composed demeanor, trying to lower his presence.

Although Gu Fei’s movements were light, Lin Qingyan could still sense them. He felt like he was floating in mid-air, precarious and lacking a sense of security. However, soon, he felt the embrace of warmth.

He was too tired, and in the end, he didn’t open his eyes to wake up.

Later on, he felt a refreshing coolness on his forehead which was quite comfortable and eventually drifted back into a deep sleep.

He slept until the next morning when Lin Qingyan was awakened by a pressing need to use the bathroom. After taking a quick shower, he felt refreshed. It had been a long time since he had such a good night’s sleep.

As he looked at the bright sunlight pouring in from the window, he suddenly felt that life was beautiful. However, the bump on his forehead from the previous night, while not as swollen, still looked quite noticeable, serving as a constant reminder of the embarrassing incident.

Moreover, how did he get back last night?

Could it be that Gu Fei really carried him back?

Lin Qingyan sighed helplessly and, in the end, had to go out and face the world.

Gu Fei was sitting on the living room sofa in a relaxed posture, leaning against the backrest with one elbow, and his body slanted. His legs were elegantly crossed, and he was looking down at his phone.

To Lin Qingyan’s surprise, there was a chubby little cat sitting on Gu Fei’s lap. It was the same orange cat he encountered in the backyard yesterday. The little orange cat was now nestled with its two paws tucked in, lazily sleeping with its eyes closed.

Gu Fei actually owned this chubby orange cat?

It was hard to imagine that the man liked such cute little animals, but the atmosphere between the man and the cat was exceptionally harmonious, resembling a beautiful painting. Lin Qingyan couldn’t bear to disturb.

It was Gu Fei who noticed him first and asked for him to come over.

Lin Qingyan sat beside Gu Fei, politely greeted him with a “good morning,” completely avoiding any mention of the events from the previous night. Gu Fei didn’t bring it up either, just stared at the bump on his forehead for a few seconds. “Does it still hurt?”

Lin Qingyan blushed slightly. “It’s not painful.”

His attention was drawn to the orange cat in the man’s arms. Bending down, he reached out to pet the cat’s head, his eyes sparkling with affection. “Is this orange cat yours?”

Perhaps disturbed by the attention, the orange cat lazily opened its eyes and let out a dissatisfied meow.

“Found it on the street a month ago,” Gu Fei said. Seeing Lin Qingyan’s fondness, he picked up the cat and handed it to him. The young man’s face lit up with an even brighter smile as he held the cat, his eyes filled with gentleness.

Speaking to the cat as if talking to a child, his tone exuded warmth and indulgence, like cotton candy. “Little kitty, what’s your name?”

Gu Fei answered on behalf of the little cat, “Its name is Xiao Ju (Little Orange).”

Lin Qingyan: “…”

Lin Qingyan: “It’s a really nice name.”

Xiao Ju, Xiao Ju, simple, straightforward, and a bit rough. It’s already quite an honor that Master Gu condescended to give you a name. Otherwise, just calling you Little Cat would be too embarrassing.

Gu Fei’s gaze had long moved away from the phone screen. He was still leaning his head in a lazy posture, watching the young man beside him caressing the cat seriously, with a pleasant smile on his delicate and beautiful face, and his peach blossom eyes were slightly curved.

Unknown to him, whether infected or not, the corner of the man’s lips hooked into a faint smile, a subtle expression he himself was unaware of.

It wasn’t until Lin Qingyan, almost unintentionally, glanced at him and forgot to avert his gaze that he saw Gu Fei smile for the first time.

When the man had no expression, he always exuded a kind of cold and distant feeling, keeping strangers at away. However, this faint smile, like the clearing sky after snow, the spring breeze on the face, was warm and friendly.

But before he could get a closer look, the smile disappeared, probably because, he noticed someone openly staring at him.

Lin Qingyan nonchalantly look away, continuing to play with the cat. Today, he had matured and he will be no longer the person from yesterday, sneakily watching the man, blushing, and stumbling over words when caught.

Gu Fei didn’t stay at home for long before heading to the company.
