Chen Yu let out a light sigh of relief and, while the driver had not yet started the car, raised his hand to grab the assailant's wrist and snatched the knife from him.
Then, with a fierce effort, he dislocated the assailant's arm at the joint.
The assailant's eyes widened in shock, gazing at Chen Yu with a look of horror.
"What did you do to me?"
Chen Yu didn't reply but quickly reached out with both hands, grabbed his shoulders, and dislocated both his arms.
The driver beside them was drenched in cold sweat, feeling like he had just narrowly escaped death.
"Oh my god! That's terrifying, and to happen in the middle of the night too!"
Chen Yu appeared quite calm, taking out his cell phone to dial the number Zhou Shengtao had left him.
Soon after, Zhou Shengtao, along with several relevant personnel, rushed over and pulled the assailant out of the car.
"Wow, young man, you're impressive! No sooner had you walked out the door than you helped us catch this guy."
Chen Yu smiled slightly, "Just happened to be in the right place at the right time and caught him on a whim!"
As he spoke, he stepped forward to reattach the dislocated joints of the assailant's arms.
This display of skill left Zhou Shengtao completely dumbfounded.
"You can also set bones?"
Chen Yu was straightforward, pulling out his medical practitioner license, which he always carried with him, and handing it to Zhou Shengtao.
"I'm also somewhat of a doctor."
Zhou Shengtao was visibly astonished, "Aren't you a cook?"
Chen Yu felt a bit embarrassed, "My shop is just up the street, called Yuya Bansheng Garden. Come by for a meal when you have time!"
Zhou Shengtao got excited immediately, "You own that place? Our recent takeout has all been thanks to your shop."
Chen Yu chuckled, "If you have any feedback on the dishes, feel free to leave a message."
"No complaints, it's simply heavenly food!"
After exchanging a few more pleasantries, Chen Yu hurried back to Shuiyue No. 1.
When Chen Yu returned to the villa, he found that Tong Ya had already fallen asleep on the sofa.
By the looks of it, she had been waiting for him until now.
"Wife?" Chen Yu called out tenderly.
Tong Ya opened her eyes groggily, "Husband, you're back?"
"Why are you sleeping here? Don't you want to cover up with a blanket? Be careful not to catch a cold!"
Chen Yu gently stroked Tong Ya's cheek and then lifted her by the waist and carried her back to the bedroom.
At three in the morning, Chen Yu got out of bed carefully and went down to the first level of the basement.
This place originally served as a storeroom but had been converted into quite a spacious area by Li Lan.
Chen Yu took out the drawing board and paper he had prepared and began to draw.
With his knowledge of mechanical engineering, Chen Yu quickly designed several sets of machines.
Machines for food processing were rare on the market, and those tailored for specific tasks were impossible to find.
He had to design and develop them himself.
If he wanted to set up a factory, he first had to manufacture these machines.
It was not until six in the morning that Chen Yu finally organized several sets of machine designs he was satisfied with.
When he emerged from the basement, only Li Lan and Tuan Tuan were left in the house.
Chen Guang and Tong Ya had already gone to the shop.
Chen Yu did not stay long, hastily leaving the house.
But as soon as he arrived at the shop, he noticed that everyone was looking at him a bit strangely that day.
"Boss Chen Yu, I never expected you to be so amazing, actually working with the authorities to catch the killer."
A lady excitedly approached and grabbed Chen Yu's hand, shaking it non-stop.
She treated Chen Yu like a superhero.
Yet Chen Yu's face was full of gloom, the authorities wouldn't have exposed his information so quickly.
After all, they would protect the privacy of the people involved.
Tong Ya walked out of the kitchen with a worried look and handed a tablet to Chen Yu.
"It was the driver from last night; his cab's dashcam captured the scene! This guy actually uploaded it to the internet."
Chen Yu's pupils dilated slightly, realizing this was equivalent to bringing big trouble upon himself.
If the killer had accomplices, his future life would be plagued with endless problems.
Sighing helplessly, Chen Yu entered the kitchen with a depressed mood.
Li Gang complained while stir-frying dishes.
"This driver really takes the cake, exposing the video after having his life saved by us."
Ning Kai patted Chen Yu's shoulder, "Don't worry too much; we brothers will bear any trouble for you."
Chen Yu didn't say much, just changed into his chef's outfit and helped with the cooking.
At twelve noon, Tang Xiaowei and Su Rui arrived at the shop, overjoyed.
Their studio was not far from here, and it seemed they planned to treat Chen Yu's place as their exclusive canteen.
As soon as Chen Yu served their lunches, Zhou Shengtao rushed into the shop.
"Young man, do you have the time now? Can you come back with me and draw a picture?"
Chen Yu raised an eyebrow, "Well, it's rush hour right now..."
"Brother, please help out! You need to draw yesterday night's guy's accomplice." S~eaʀᴄh the ηovelFire.ηet website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
Chen Yu's gaze became resolute, as he knew that only by catching the whole gang could he hope to live a peaceful life.
"Xiaowei, do you have the time to come too?"
Tang Xiaowei was taken aback, "Are you going to draw a portrait?"
Chen Yu grabbed Tang Xiaowei's wrist directly, "Yes, I only know a bit of basic sketching, and there are some details I might not capture accurately!"
Chen Yu lacked professional drawing skills and feared making mistakes.
Zhou Shengtao, desperate for help, saw Chen Yu holding Tang Xiaowei and immediately took them both back to the relevant department.
"Based on our investigation, last night's murder was a premeditated one and a gang crime. We have only obtained a few clues sporadically and hope you can use these to give us a rough sketch of the person."
Chen Yu looked through a pile of information in front of him and frowned deeply.
It contained only some simple descriptions, and some parts didn't match up at all.
Asking a non-professional like himself to draw a portrait was indeed a bit far-fetched.
However, Tang Xiaowei did not see it that way; she picked up a few sheets of paper and began sketching immediately.
But after a few attempts, Tang Xiaowei encountered difficulties.
"This guy is just spouting nonsense, the proportions of the eyebrows and mouth don't match; they can't be from the same face."
Chen Yu took a deep breath, "Could we base the sketch on a single facial feature and use our imagination to fill in the rest?"
Tang Xiaowei frowned, "It's possible, but wouldn't that be extremely taxing mentally?"
Without saying much more, Chen Yu picked up a piece of paper and swiftly began to draw.
Before long, he drew a dozen portraits based on the clues provided by Zhou Sheng.
Each portrait was constructed around one or two specific features.
If any of these features were accurate, the killer could be found.
