Shi Yu took a day off from school and said that he needed to rest during his rut. Only Shi Yu, who was nestled in bed and refused to move, and Jiang ChengLi in his arms, knew exactly what the reason was for not going to school today.
Last night, Shi Yu’s pheromones were so strong that the little ice dragon was trapped, sick and wilted all day.
After Shi Yu had injected the inhibitor, he held the little ice dragon in his arms and watched the state of the little ice dragon with caution. He was lying on the side of the bed with little energy, and wasn’t moving his tail, flapping his wings, or ingesting anything except water.
Shi Yu looked very anxious, but didn’t know whether to take the little ice dragon to the veterinarian. If he sent it to the vet, the little thing would be trapped in the institute, right?
Instinctively, Shi Yu thought of a person.
Shi Yu probably wouldn’t have told anyone in his life that he had found a dragon, but now he was desperate and had no choice but to tell Jiang ChengLi. He put the little ice dragon in the middle of the mattress and took his cell phone to the balcony, but the number was unanswered.
Shi Yu looked at the time. It should be recess, was Jiang ChengLi busy?
He thought for a moment, and sent a message to Li Chen. The reply was: [President took a leave of absence today, his susceptibility period has arrived.]
Li Chen was also very worried about Jiang ChengLi’s situation. After all, President Jiang’s symptoms of susceptibility last semester were quite intimidating, and no one dared to disturb him easily. But the new president of the senior class had been asking for information everywhere, which put him in a dilemma.
Li Chen thought about it and sent another message to Shi Yu: [If you are free, would you like to go with me to see Jiang ChengLi?]
Shi Yu frowned, thinking it was the most unreasonable thing to do. For an omega to visit a sick person during the alpha’s susceptible period, right?
[Forget it, let him rest well.]
He then watched Li Chen’s status turn into a lengthy input in progress, but the last thing sent to him was only a short sentence: [Okay, I remember that you also took a leave of absence. You have a good rest too.]
Shi Yu lightly touched the phone screen, then finally just replied: [Okay, thanks.]
He returned to the bedside and held the little ice dragon in his arms, but his mind wasn’t able to help but think of Jiang ChengLi.
It seemed like a long time ago…Jiang ChengLi had lost control because of his susceptible period. There was a blurred image in his mind of a boy with a silver muzzle who was sitting alone on a bed, his eyes silent and cold, as if he was trapped in a cage, surrounded by gray.
The little ice dragon who lay in his arms with a sickly look, carelessly glanced at the gradually graying phone screen, and gave a jolt.
Shi Yu was asking about him?
Jiang ChengLi’s tail wrapped slightly around his hand as he looked at Li Chen’s reply, and at the phrase ‘susceptible period.’ The dragon didn’t feel well.
He wasn’t in his susceptible period and he wasn’t uncomfortable. He just asked his family to help him take time off in order to stay by Shi Yu’s side.
Shi Yu was still thinking about the missing images in his mind, when his fingertips were suddenly licked by the little ice dragon. He looked down and saw the pitiful, aggrieved little dragon cub was rubbing his fingertips with his dragon horns, its watery blue pupils resigned. It looked like it had been broken by the brief moment of neglect.
Shi Yu’s mind instantly returned to the little guy in front of him. He lowered his head, kissed his wings and said in a warm voice, “Still having a hard time?”
The little ice dragon grunted and licked his lips, then snapped and fell against his collarbone, as he feigned having a weak look.
All of Shi Yu’s troubled thoughts were immediately pulled out of the clouds, and he looked at the little thing in his arms wholeheartedly, as he hugged him with an almost motherly gaze. “Is it hard?”
Not uncomfortable, Jiang ChengLi pretended to hook him with his tail. Shi Yu never thought about President Jiang again.
On Wednesday, Shi Yu, who had finally sobered up, packed up his things and went back to school with the little dragon cub he had found in his pocket.
On the surface, he was attentively listening to lectures in class, but every now and then, he would reach out and rub it to quench his thirst.
Jiang ChengLi, although very bored, was able to stay in the closest spot to his omega. He would occasionally sniff Shi Yu’s wrist. He was still happy to live this kind of day.
At lunch break, Lian Jing came over with a mysterious face and dragged aside Shi Yu, who was ready to go out. “Shi Yu, let me ask you something.”
Jiang ChengLi impatiently curled his tail around Shi Yu, unhappy that someone was getting in the way of the two of them spending time alone. Shi Yu was distracted by the small ice dragon in his coat pocket. “Hmm?”
“President Jiang has taken two days off, you know?”
Shi Yu turned his face straight. His expression didn’t change. “Isn’t the alpha susceptibility period at least seven days?”
“That’s not the problem. The problem is that the newly elected student President of the senior class spontaneously went to visit him!” Lian Jing said anxiously. “How can we let someone else take the lead in this kind of thing?”
Jiang ChengLi used his tail to tease the lines of Shi Yu’s fingers. He tantalized Shi Yu with a tingling but not unpleasant touch.
It was a pity that Shi Yu only thought of him as a dragon now. He couldn’t salvage the ambiguity hidden under this action.
The inexplicable feeling came up again in Shi Yu’s mind and he asked Lian Jing, “Have I ever visited a sick person before?”
“Visiting?” Lian Jing was surprised. “You were sent to the hospital with him. Our Nan Zhong’s Kaolin Flower, the white moonlight of every omega student, went on a rampage for your pheromones last semester and was put into isolation! Have you forgotten?”
Jiang ChengLi felt the finger he was wrapped around stiffen for a moment.
His mother’s means of erasing memories was very clever. After the feelings were removed and all kinds of memories that could affect the emotions were blurred out. Shi Yu’s current memory recall was fine, but if he were to think carefully, many places had holes.
His memory would have vague fragments that he would be unable to recall.
After he heard Lian Jing’s words, Shi Yu sat alone at the stairway for a long time.
Even Jiang ChengLi’s tail that was hooked around him wasn’t able to attract his attention.
Shi Yu sensed the little ice dragon’s displeasure at being ignored, and gently held it in front of him. He treated this exotic beast, which may not ‘understand’ human language, as a person he was talking to. “What do you think Jiang ChengLi thinks of me?”
Little-Jiang ChengLi-ice-himself-dragon was sitting in his palm while he looked at Shi Yu. He wanted to condense a heart-shape to tell him how he saw him.
Shi Yu’s head hurt from all the dreamlike, fragmented memories, and he dropped his eyes wearily. “It’s like everyone around me is hinting at something, but I’m not quite sure.”
If they were talking about tampering with memories…No, it couldn’t be. They weren’t advanced enough to have such technology. But Shi Yu had a vague feeling that his situation had a lot to do with Jiang ChengLi again, and, it seemed, everyone around him was hinting at something.
Nan Zhong’s Kaolin Flower liked him.
But it sounded incredible.
The midday light folded in from different places and fell on Shi Yu, as it spread the heat. He whispered, “What kind of person would Jiang ChengLi like?”
