Xia Zhe had already expected Paul to say this. He dialed the number which Bella had given him and a young girl's voice could be heard at the other end of the phone.
"Hello? Who are you looking for?" asked Sandy, the daughter of Paul and Ella.
"Honey! It's Daddy! Are you good right now? Are you safe? Have you had your meal?" Paul asked anxiously.
"Daddy! I'm doing very well now! Have you been busy at work recently? The auntie here tells me that you'll be back soon and she has even bought me many slices of cakes!" Sandy said excitedly.
There was no cake shop on that remote island. In fact, none of the residents there knew what a "cake" was. Sandy had only read about it in cookbooks.
"Daddy and Mommy will be back soon. Be good and listen to the auntie. Eat well and sleep well," Paul said gently.
"Alright! Mommy and Daddy must rest well too!" Sandy said.
When Xia Zhe saw how concerned Paul and Ella were, he suddenly felt like calling Qiao Mei and asking her if she was doing well and if the children were obedient. He must settle the matter in Country M quickly and return to Qiao Mei's side as soon as possible.
Paul hung up the phone reluctantly. He and Ella looked at each other, already knowing each other's answer.
"Young Master Daniel, we have succeeded," Ella said to Daniel expressionlessly.
Daniel immediately put down the billiard cue in his hand and asked excitedly, "Really?"
"Don't you trust us to do our job?" Ella questioned.
"Hahahahahaha! Fang Chen! The day has come for you!" Daniel threw his head back and Jaughed.
"Looking at the time, he's probably about to wake up. We've put in a lot of effort on this job. Young Master Daniel, it's time for you to give us the reward you promised us," Ella said as she stretched out her hand.
"What is it? The sum of one million dollars? I haven't even seen him yet. What's your hurry?" Daniel said as he looked at Ella in disdain.
Even though Ella was now standing on Alan family's territory, she was not afraid at all. She looked at Daniel firmly and said, "You have to hand over the money to get the goods. Young Master Daniel, if you don't fulfill your promise, then we'll let Fang Chen go. At most, we can all just fight to the death."
"You!" Daniel pointed at Ella and roared, "You money-grubbing dog! Butler! Give her the money!"
The butler brought down two heavy leather suitcases from the study upstairs. The suitcases were filled with cash of exactly one million dollars. Ella opened them to check and only drove Daniel to the abandoned warehouse after confirming that it was real money.
It was a nice sunny day. Daniel hummed a tune as he walked into the abandoned warehouse. He did not bring many bodyguards with him this time round. After all, Alan had said that this couple was one of his own. Back then, Alan had saved their lives, so the two of them would not hurt him.
