“I won’t be able to get the medicinal wine! Please let me go! Let my child go! What exactly did you feed him! He’s still a child! Are you even human!” Shao Yin hugged the boy and cried hysterically.
Huang Mian did not say anything but simply poured the remaining liquid from the bottle into Shao Yin’s mouth. Shao Yin immediately felt some pain in her stomach. She held her stomach with one arm and hugged the child with her other arm as she knelt on the ground in agony.
“You need eight bottles of medicinal wine now. This is the only way to save you and your child. You only have three hours so time is tight. If you don’t set off now, both you and your child will die,” Huang Zhong said casually.
“Aren’t you afraid of retribution...” Shao Yin said through the pain.
“Us? We’re people who are about to die, so why should we be afraid of doing this? Besides, there’s nothing too bad about having members of the Xia family accompanying us in death,” Huang Mian said, feeling no shame at all.
Shao Yin forced herself to get up and carried the child to the brick bed to settle him down. She did a check to make sure that the child was still breathing and rushed out of the house after that. At this moment, Qiao Mei and the rest of the family were at the manor. Fortunately, her house was not too far from there. Otherwise, she would not be able to make the return trip within three hours.
Shao Yin did not allow herself to be distracted as she rode the bicycle. Although she fell down several times, she did not dare to stop to take a rest. To her, every minute she wasted was another minute that her child was in danger and it made her scared.
She suddenly realized that she did not detest and hate Qiao Mei as much as she had thought she did. All she wanted to do now was to kill Huang Mian and Huang Zhong! Shao Yin took a deep breath and used all her strength to speak. “It’s the Huang family members who broke into my house and poisoned me and my child! They want me to get the medicinal wine to exchange for the antidote! My child is also poisoned! If I don’t get back in three hours, he will die!”
After saying that, Shao Yin started vomiting big mouthfuls of blood. The blood was black in color and Xia Wan hid behind Xia He in fear. This was the first time Xia Wan had ever seen such a scene.
“How much do they want?” Qiao Mei asked.
“Six bottles... not including what my child and I need...” Shao Yin said.

Shao Yin gradually fell silent. Qiao Mei immediately took out her pendant, the one which contained golden ginseng juice, and hurriedly put one drop into Shao Yin’s mouth.
Although Shao Yin was not a good person, she was still the Xia family’s daughter-in-law. In addition, Shao Yin just had a lousy character and had never thought of harming Qiao Mei and her family. Therefore, Qiao Mei was still willing to save her life.
