Side Story 3 (6)
Su Qiuge took a deep breath, turned around, and pressed her face against his chest. She whispered, “I miss her too, and I miss Aunt Liu. How about we take her to buy some food? It just so happens that I also want to go to the supermarket.”
She tilted her head and said, “Go to the supermarket to buy groceries and let me show you my cooking skills.”
He raised an eyebrow slightly and asked, “Cooking skills?”
Seeing his skeptical expression, she raised an eyebrow and said, “What? Don’t you believe in my cooking skills?”
He chuckled, his expression appearing somewhat warm, and remained silent. However, in her eyes, it seemed like deep doubt towards her. She put on a straight face and said, “What’s wrong? Do you think I can’t do it? From now on, if you want to eat, you can only eat what I cook...”
Before she could finish her sentence, he placed a kiss on her lips, interrupting her. He nodded and said, “Mmm, I’ll eat you.”
After a moment of stunned silence, she kicked him and grumbled a few words.
At noon, she made a shopping list. In the afternoon, his assistant went to pick up Pei Anan. As soon as the little girl saw her, she took three steps and ran into her arms, smiling and saying, “Kitty! I missed you so much!”
The little girl had grown taller. She was already in the sixth grade and was preparing for the next level of education. However, the chubby baby fat on her face remained, and she still looked adorable. Compared to before, she had become much more lively and even had a skateboard in her hand.
Anan’s illness has been cured, so now she can openly play with her skateboard.
Su Qiuge tried to pick her up as she used to, but after a couple of attempts, she realized that she couldn’t lift her. She gave up and let Anan lead the way while pushing the shopping cart. Su Qiuge followed beside her, smiling and watching the little girl bounce ahead.
After a moment, the voice of the girl from outside could be heard.
“Kitty?”
“Brother?”
“Where are you guys?”
Su Qiuge was suddenly startled and hurriedly pushed him away. She straightened her slightly disheveled clothes and pretended as if nothing had happened, continuing to browse the products. Xie Xinglin, seeing her guilty and fidgety appearance, chuckled softly and no longer bothered her. He lowered his gaze and helped her pick out items.
When Pei Anan approached them, she looked at the two of them with some confusion. Her gaze finally lingered for a while on Su Qiuge’s swollen lips, but she didn’t say much. She only complained, “How did you two disappear all of a sudden?” Su Qiuge felt embarrassed and didn’t know how to respond. Pei Anan continued, “By the way, Kitty, I saw that uncle from last time just now.”
Su Qiuge was puzzled. “...Uncle?”
Almost as soon as Pei Anan’s words fell, Su Yuanzhou’s figure appeared at the corner.
He walked over in their direction, and when Pei Anan saw him, she immediately greeted him, “Hello, Uncle!” Su Yuanzhou didn’t expect the tragic experience from years ago to happen again in the present. He stared at Pei Anan with clenched teeth, thinking that he wouldn’t bother with this little devil. He walked to Su Qiuge’s side, about to speak to her, but his gaze suddenly fell on a red mark on her neck. It was as if he found a vent for all his recent frustrations and seized the opportunity to make a scene.
He turned his head and said to Xie Xinglin, “Didn’t you say you were taking my sister to stay at the villa?” Xie Xinglin raised his eyes slightly, meeting his gaze. Before he could say anything, Su Yuanzhou continued to grumble and pointed at the mark on Su Qiuge’s neck, “What the hell is this? How can there be mosquitoes in the middle of winter? Look at the bites on her!”
