Chapter 63: Might Literally Bleed Dry

He then turned to look at Xavier and smilingly looked at him. "Xavier, I am fine," Damien began coldly. "There is no such thing as you are worrying about. Of course, you will be not if you—"

As for what was going to happen to Xavier if he didn't shut up, Damien never got the chance to say it as the carriage came to a sudden halt with the sharp neigh of the horses.

"What's going on? Are we already there?" Damien asked distractedly as he peered out of the window. However just as he pushed his head out, he saw that the street had been jammed and someone seemed to be quarrelling at the end of the street. "What's happening?"

Xavier also looked out of the window, his eyes narrowed as he started paying close attention to the quarrel, "It's Lord George. I believe he is upset with something again."

Upset didn't even cover what this so-called Lord George was feeling at the moment, thought Damien to himself as he continued to watch the ruckus happening at the front of the street.

"How dare a low-class trash dare to treat me like this!?" The man roared at the woman who was kneeling in front of him. "You fucking —it is your fortune that I am asking you to serve me. I am the brother of the Matriarch of the Kiem family."

"Kiem family?" Damien turned to look at Xavier and asked, "Is this the same Kiem family as we know?"

"Must be. One cannot throw the name of the Kiem family just because they want to," replied Xavier.

"Fucking bitch! How dare you act this way.. do you want some of this huh?" Lord George raised his hand in the air to slap the woman on the face causing her to flinch.

"We are sorry that she could not serve you well.. but if you want we can bring someone else for you," said the higher-ranking guard with his hand clamped on the shoulder of the dog beastman who seemed to be more inclined to punch Lord George instead of arranging another woman for him.

"You—you dare threaten me with a ban!?" Lord George snarled angrily, his eyes turning red as the nails on his fingers started to elongate. "Are you crazy? You son of a bitch —Do you think that I will let this off."

Lord George pounced on the Head Guard, his claws aimed right at the heart of the man who had handed him the warning.

"Damn..."

"What do you think you are doing?" The other guard shouted at Lord George as he pushed the head guard out of the way.

However, though the guard succeeded in pushing the head guard away, he ended up being on the other end of the sharp claws.

"That!" Damien gasped in terror when he saw where the cut was made.

Dan stared at the fight as well as he started handing out information that Damien already knew, "It seems like the carotid artery had ruptured. It sits between the posterior or the sternoclavicular joints of the neck and the cut is right in the centre of the two."

'This is bad,' thought Damien as he looked at the dog beastman who twisted on his feet and kicked the man on the ground.

If it was truly the carotid artery that was ruptured then this man was done for, it wouldn't be long before the man dies.
