Chapter 106 : Followed

"Lord Damien," Xavier began, but Damien shook his head. He pointed to the men lying on the ground and said to him, "I cannot leave them alone. If I do, then they will certainly die."

Behind him, even though Glen was sweating profusely, the injuries of those three men were not getting any better. And the more time Glen wasted, the more those men would lose blood. If this went on, then one of them would certainly die!

If not–all of them!

Xavier looked at Damien. He gritted his teeth and asked, "But how will you find us?"

"Don't worry! I will be with Lord Damien!"

Just as Xavier finished speaking, Maui, who had been hiding in the tufts of leaves, flew out and raised his paw. He looked quite thrilled about it!

Damien and Xavier not so much.

"What are you doing here?" Damien asked while looking at the flying stead.

He was sure he left Maui at the Wolfe mansion and asked Prsicilla to take care of him.

Maui stiffened when he heard Damien's question. He blinked his eyes before turning around, but before the rabbit could fly away, Damien caught hold of the rabbit ears and pulled him back.

"Where do you think you are going, hmm?" Damien asked with an evil smile. "You dare to run away from me?"

"N–No... I just wanted to relieve myself," Maui replied with a flattering smile.

Damien didn't say anything; instead, he carefully peered down at the stead. "Tell the truth," he ordered.

Maui trembled before answering, "IfollowedyouwithThalia." He sounded like he had swallowed a dictionary and was now regurgitating.

"What?"

"Get up," he said to Thalia.

He turned to look at Xavier before saying to him, "See? Now you don't have to worry. I will arrive at the tower with Maui."

'Now, I have to worry even more,' Xavier thought while looking at Thalia, who was staring at Damien with eyes that held hearts. He couldn't understand what the woman even found attractive in Damien.

But when he thought about how Wistoria would have to deal with those dark guild members alone, he closed his eyes and nodded heavily. "Very well. But if I don't see you in an hour," he turned to look at Maui and said to him, "I am skinning that stead alive and roasting it."

"EEEP!?" Maui flew behind Damien while peering at the wolf-beast man with a terrified look on his face. This man– he was not a good person!

Damien also felt that Xavier was being a bit too overbearing. Why was he bullying a poor rabbit for no reason?

"Don't say such threatening words," Damien reproachfully said to the wolf beastman. "You are scaring him."

"It was not a threat." Xavier turned to Maui and stated, "It was a fact. So keep your eyes peeled and wings spread, understand?"

After he finished speaking, Xavier turned on his feet and morphed into his beast form. The pants that he was wearing ripped into shreds as he charged past the forest.

Maui felt his threatening words ring in his ears and turned to look at Damien. "Lord Damien! You have to go with me to the Tower of Helion in an hour! Might as well go now, or else I will turn into a roasted rabbit."

"Don't worry. It's alright," Damien patted the head of the poor stead. "He was just saying those words for fun; he would never do such a thing to you."

Damien said that, but he looked doubtful.

'I don't believe you.' Maui looked at the man and immediately decided to write his will, which included his favourite pillow and hay.

While Maui was worried about his life and death, Damien walked over to where Glen stood and looked down at the three men with pale faces.

"What did you do?" Damien asked.

"I-O' great one. I gave them the blessings of Icratus," replied Glen fretfully. "But it seems like—it's not enough. Their bleeding is not stopping."
