Chapter 150: Military Officer

The sound of owls hooting echoed in the eerie night, and as the moon rose higher in the sky, most of the beastmen returned to their homes.

"What did you say?" A man holding a wine glass raised his head and looked at his aide. "You mean to say that someone saved a beastman who was already dead? Have you drank too much, Colton?"

He brought the glass of wine to his lips and drowned it in one go before saying to his aide, "You really know how to joke. But then again, it's quite fitting with the amount of liquor you have drunk."

"Lord Julian, I am not joking," his aide released a helpless sigh before saying, "More than fifty people witnessed that man saving the life of the beastman whose heart stopped beating. My brother was among these people as well."

"Even if it's just a rumour, as long as there is the slightest bit of possibility, I believe we should give it a try, my lord."

Julian curled his lips as he poured himself another drink. He looked at his reflection in the transparent liquid in the glass before drinking it in one go.

"So, did you find this great healer for whom you have been running around for quite some time?" Julian asked as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

"I have heard and followed the rumours," the aide replied promptly. "But according to what I have found out, this man is a beast man with a broken core. He doesn't have any mana and relies on weird skills to treat his patients."

"Doesn't have any mana?" Julian set down the glass in his hand on the table. He looked a bit concerned as he mumbled, "If he doesn't have any mana and yet succeeded in bringing a dead man to life, then he might as well be Beast God himself."

"I believe that it's better to bring him here and at least give it a chance, my lord," the aide bowed his head and stated, "With how the healers have failed again and again, I believe there is nothing wrong with trying something new."

Julian narrowed his eyes as he drowned another shot of the liquor without agreeing or denying.

"What—mhmm?" Her eyes widened in surprise when Damien kissed her.

"Oh–umm.." Wistoria closed her eyes when Damien nipped at her lower lip and tangled his tongue with hers. She could feel him slither and taste every nook and cranny of her mouth.

And it didn't take long for her to start panting with the need to breathe.

"Now who is the beauty here?" Damien looked at the woman whose bosom was moving up and down with the impact of her harsh breathing.

He turned on his feet and walked to the bathing room, leaving Wistoria shaking and swallowing hard. She raised her hand and touched her swollen lips with her finger tips before turning to look at the closed door of the bathing room.

"That damn man—" was hell of a kisser.

Damien didn't take this small episode to his mind. Take it as a small compensation for the time where she had locked him up in prison. He cleaned himself up before heading to the dining hall, where he found Priscilla sitting and eating her meal.

When she heard the sound of footsteps, she raised her head and smiled at Damien.

"Brother Dami, good morning," she greeted him.

"Good morning, Prisci," Damien smiled back at the little girl. "Something smells really good."

"It must be because of the Venus mangoes." Priscilla picked up her fork and pierced a piece of the yellow pulp that was cut into cubes and placed on the plate. "The Venus mangoes are known for being a really healthy fruit. They are not only delicious but also filled with benefits that help the mind and body of a beastman."

She looked around and then whispered, "Brother Henry used to eat these before the exams as they helped him learn better. Don't tell him that I told you this though; he likes it when others think of him as a prodigy."
