Chapter 65- Suspicious

Chapter 65- Suspicious

[Alatia's POV:]

Kyle didn't sound convincing. He was stealing his gaze and also unlike usual, he didn't spend time assuring me that he would not look at someone else other than me.

It made me anxious and annoyed.

It has been so many years we have spent together that his slightiest of change in behavior doesn't go unnoticed by me. And sometimes he forgets that I have these Eyes that allow me to see how much he loves me, but also, the lies he tells can't remain hidden.

When I looked at him previously while I confronted him, Kyle had a shade that said he was guilty and nervous. I have seen that shade before as well when I brought him back from his little venture through the Slavery chains.

Is there any connection between that event and this?

Professor Clara is a beautiful woman, I concur, and I have noticed that despite how much he seemed annoyed by her whenever she approached him, Kyle never told her explicitly to back away—until some days ago that is.

I thought that since Kyle had firmly rejected her approach and Clara was also not trying to talk to him anymore, the matter was defused. But I was wrong.

Kyle went to save her from the degenerate Professor named Ceaser. I know that there was some sort of connection between Clara and Kyle, but never considered that for her, he would kill a Professor, no less.

Kyle was a patient and tolerant man. Someone who has endured humiliation from my past self, I have to give him that. That's why the fact that he killed Professor Ceaser, signifies that Kyle was upset....or to say, he must be really mad at the pervert to outright kill him.

Now that makes my suspicion grow even stronger. That's why I have decided to use aphrodisiacs tonight to lure him into my bed and solidify our relationship.

Yes, this was the correct thing to do.

"Can you stop staring at me like I am a criminal?" While he was preparing food in the kitchen, he called out to me without removing his eyes from the pot.

I didn't remove my narrowed gaze from him before answering, "You indeed are guilty of something. I am just trying to discern what it is."

Kyle let go of the spatula and looked at me. He held sadness in his eyes and uncertainty.

Turning off the burning stone, he walked out of the kitchen and approached me.

I didn't say a word when he held my hand and led me inside the bedroom.

I would be lying to say that my heart didn't begin to beat faster when he leaned down and his chiseled collarbone came into my view.

However, I hid my desires and followed his lead.

He made me sit on the bed and sat down just beside me while holding my hand.

He took his time and I didn't urge him to speak. I wanted to hear what made him lie to me and what made him guilty.

Let's hear what connects Professor Clara and Kyle.

The Headmaster sat on his seat while looking at the report of the investigation in silence. In the room, apart from the man, there was only Clara present.

The Headmaster of the Starfall Academy was one of the very few beings who can chant a Six-circle spell and he has participated in multiple wars in the past.

Despite giving the offer to become a leading officer at the Magic Tower, he chose to continue his job as a teacher and further became the headmaster.

If one has to describe the man in two words, then it would be: Strong and humble.

He was greatly shocked by the news as such he didn't think twice before taking the investigation into his own hands.

Richard Frostwine was done assessing the report and turning his eyes toward the victim of this case.

"Professor Clara, I have read the report and I know, how did you end up like that in the staff room."

Clara didn't show any reaction and allowed the man to continue, "While I know it might be difficult, I need you to answer some of my questions related to what happened."

Clara nodded before the Headmaster forwarded a report at which Clara faintly glanced. It was the detailed report of Ceaser's body condition when he was found dead.

"It's somewhat strange that after being taken captive into the other dimension, you were able to execute Professor Ceaser without any struggle. After all, there was not a single scratch on Ceaser's dead body apart from that hairpin which was dug into his flesh."

Clara sobered up upon hearing the accusation. It was clear that the Headmaster was suspicious of this matter. However, she couldn't tell him that Ceaser was broken and healed twice before he was wiped off from existence.

Leaning a little forward, she said, "As I have mentioned in the report, Headmaster, Professor Ceaser was torturing me and he crushed my ankle back then. Although I was shouting for help, my goal since the beginning was to kill him as soon as I got the time. And when he crouched, I didn't miss the opportunity."

"So you say that you took Ceaser by surprise and didn't have to struggle against him?" For some reason, Clara was feeling a bit nervous to nod her head at that, but in the end, she didn't have any option.

"Yes sir."

The old man remained silent for some moments before he told her, "You can go now, Professor. If I find out anything I will contact you again."

Clara got up from her seat, and after bowing slightly she walked out of the office.

The old man kept on looking at the door which closed after she went out.

His gaze slightly narrowed as the man uttered under his breath, "There was definitely a third person with them."

Looking at the list of people Clara comes in regular contact with, other

than during her classes, the Headmaster spoke,

"I have just to keep an eye on her for the time being."
