Volume 2 - CH 15

Almark ran down the slope at an astonishing speed. At the sound of his footsteps, Jalanon, with Eldo in his hand , looked back.

His body, slightly smaller than a human adult, was covered with brown fur. A single eye glanced around and caught sight of Almark.

Jalanon's arm strength is stronger than his build would suggest, as evidenced by the fact that he can walk without difficulty while holding a child in one hand.

What is most troublesome are the long, hardened claws on both hands. They are not sharp enough to cut things, but they are powerful as thrusting weapons.

Almark rushed toward Jalanon, making a noise on purpose. He swung the branch in his hand in a spectacular manner.

Of course, this was just an ordinary tree branch that he had just broken, but Almark waved it as if it were a powerful weapon.

Sure enough, Jalanon let out a low roar and threw Eldo to the ground, The plan was a success. Eldo was not in monster's arms ,

Almark stopped just before Jalanon's claws reached him.

He held up a tree branch as well as his sword.

Jalanon held up his sharp claws as if to show them to Almark, and gradually closed the gap between them. Perhaps on guard, he does not make a move as if he is going to rush in.

Torque had begun to move down the slope belatedly, trying to help Eldo while he still could. But he cannot run down as quickly as Almark.

( Just keep on drawing him away from Eldo.)

However, Almark betrayed Torque's expectations and moved on his own.

With a quick step, he swung the branch as if to scrape it up from below, striking Jalanon in the jaw. The speed of the blow left Jalanon completely unable to react. He shakes his claws in anger, but Almark quickly moves out of range and dodges.

Then he steps in again, this time striking Jalanon in the jaw with a horizontal strike. Blood drips from Jalanon's mouth.

Almark thought that this is a little different from what he is used to. If he had his beloved long sword, the first blow would have sent monster’s head flying. But this monster is surprisingly strong against his strikes.

Monster was screaming in anger and swinging both claws, aiming at Almark. However, Almark did not even let the fierce attack touch his body. Even though he wears robes that make it difficult for him to move, his body art is still dominant.

If he attacked, there would be an opening there. Every time Jalanon swung his claws, Almark dodged them and slammed tree branches into Jalanon's face and body. The sound was so dull that a person could die from a single blow, yet Jalanon's movements did not falter.

However, Jalanon had been lured away by Armark and was slowly beginning to widen the distance with Eldo's location . Torque, out of breath, moved closer to Eldo.

(At that rate, it looks like he alone will be able to handle the monster.)

With such thoughts  he looked toward Almark and saw something he could not believe.

Another monster suddenly appeared out of the bushes right behind Almark and Jalanon .

"What the hell?”

Torque screamed in disbelief. Almark doesn't seem to have noticed it. He was going to be caught between them.

Torque gritted his teeth and shouted,

"Almark ,Watch out !"

Almark suddenly turned around. By that time, Jalanon was already raising his claws in the air behind him.
