Arlo's lips turned up. He knew she would ask that. He executed an API and pointed screen where login numbers were increasing rapidly.
"Check the website stability." Sky instructed the monitoring and testing team.
Logins increased above thirty, Sky looked at the testing team who replied, "No problem."
It reached above fifty and the team member spoke, "It's stable."
It crossed seventy and they didn't face any problem. Sky patted on Arlo which meant well done and also indicated him to stop the API.
She checked the time and It took exactly ten minutes. "We have three minutes for reopening."
Sky looked at the PR department, "Release a statement."
Then she turned to the finance department and pointed at five, "All their year-end bonus to Arlo."
The year-end bonus was three months of salary. After hearing Sky, their face immediately fell and regretted not working properly but they were still scared about being fired.
They knew well that they won't get a high paid job like the one in Harley. Other higher companies won't take them if they know they were fired by Harley.
Sky had a simple rule, 'Work smart, I will pay you well. Work exceptional, I will add on bonus. Slack off, bugger off.'
She had fought with shareholders for a raise in salary and lose the portion profit for them. If she looked for their wellness, she can also throw off when they don't repay for it.
Sky who calmly waited when booking opened at ten was nervous the second time. She was tapping her right toes on the floor mat continuously but her face or hands showed nothing to anybody.
Booking started, only hundreds were logged in but there was no booking. Each second, Sky's heart was going down. Suddenly she felt her palm warm up.
Seeing a hand holding her palm, she knew who was standing on her right but still she raised her head and saw Arlo looking at her.
She had stopped tapping and looked at him without any expression. Her mind was completely blank when she looked at him.
Seeing her edgy, Arlo wanted to calm her hence he held her hand. He was about to say 'Don't worry' , She looked at him with her clear, bright eyes.
Words stuck in his throat. He could see his silhouette in her eyes. She occasionally blinked but she didn't react or show any emotion.
Her eyes didn't leave his eyes until some said, "Booking started!"
She turned towards the screen and took two steps as her hand slid off from his hand. He looked at his hand as her hand moved and sighed lightly.
'When most of the female looks at my face and physique, her eyes always stays on my eyes.' A gentle smile that appeared on his face vanished instantly when he noticed Andy looking at him. He kept his eyes on the screen.
All weekends and holidays till march, last week of the year and the first two weeks of the year were booked in just half an hour minutes.
Sky went to a system and checked the comments section. Many cried for missing the dates they needed. Many complained about having only a few tree houses and tiny houses. Some celebrated for successful bookings.
"I want the statistics at the end of the day. Keep a watch carefully. Report to Andy if any problems." Sky finished saying and she left.
Arlo and Andy followed her but she silently entered the elevator. Andy clicked on the last floor. Men exited and made way for her, she left without speaking.
Arlo turned towards his desk, Andy spoke, "Arlo! Keep your distance from Ms.Sky. Don't try to take advantage of her just because she is weak."
Andy had seen Sky and Arlo looking a each other and she left his hand. But he kept his eyes on Arlo who always looked arrogant and cold had a smile on his face.
Arlo treated Andy with animosity but their conversation used to be purely about work. This was the first time he spoke about Sky.
Arlo smirked and turned to face Andy. "One, Ms.Sky is not weak. Two, She doesn't need YOU to defend her, Three, what I do is none of your business."
Both had glaring competition until Andy's desk phone rang. Andy left to his desk. Arlo returned to his desk opposite to him.
For lunch, Sky went to the kitchen and saw Arlo still preparing.
"What's on the menu?" Sky asked as she went in.
" Me and You. 1 " Arlo said and looked at her.
"Yes! What's on the menu for you and me?" Sky reframed.
'Dumb' Arlo thought to himself and handed her meatballs.
Sky popped one to her mouth and saw pizza in the micro oven. "Pizza?"
Arlo hummed and took one meatball for himself. Sky tried to make out the toppings and saw only vegetables. Since was eating meatballs, she didn't say anything about it.
"Do your appetizer change according to the weather?" Sky showed the plate on her palm and asked.
Sky popped one meatball full into her mouth and her cheeks were puffed up.
First, he thought, he should have prepared small size but brushed it off seeing her cute face.
"That's because you are cold." Arlo replied after a long time.
Sky controlled her laughter, "If other employees see me like this, they will faint thinking their President still has heart and isn't fallen angel. And you are calling me cold and how does it connect to the appetizer."
Arlo chuckled, "It's true they will faint. But how do you know they call you as a Fallen angel?"
He heard many times some old employees saying, 'Chairman Harley was an angel compared to his daughter who is A Fallen Angel! Our nightmares.'
He ignored them but he wasn't mad or angry about it. Instead, he was happy knowing Sky had such a terrific image at higher-level management employees.
"Sam!" Sky replied. Arlo nodded, "I didn't say about that cold, Your hands!"
Sky remembered about it, "Oh! That you felt cold because you are hot."
Arlo pursed his lips waiting for her to analyze what she said.
