The more she tried to struggle, the more he worked up and became rough. When she stopped struggling, he got pieces of memory from his past.
He felt scorching pain in his head as he connected them. Due to drugs, he was very rough on Jenny but why didn't she struggle to break free instead she was m.o.a.ning in pleasure and she responded equally.
Coming back to senses he saw Sky falling on the floor and wanted to help. She slid back to stay away from him and held her top edges to cover herself. She was trembling in fear so badly that his hands stopped in mid-air.
He saw a red scratch on her waist which wasn't covered. He felt so painful that he wanted to stab himself. He knew she trusted him. He knew she was even ready to take their relationship further. But he couldn't understand how he ended up here.
He couldn't understand why he got angry when he heard directors talk. He knew they didn't know about Sky and his relationship but he still riled up for their remarks.
She was close to her brother which he had already seen. In fact, he wished them to be together. But
'How can I question her as if she was in an ambiguous relationship with Jai?'
'She didn't marry me, I forced her to do. How can I do this to her?'
He was angry at himself. he was upset about himself. He ruined everything which was so good.
When he saw her coming out. He thought she would get angry or even beat him but she didn't do anything as such and cleared the messed up bed properly that's when he saw two wet patches on the bed. He knew she had cried.
He held his head and when he heard Sky say, 'Ray, can you please drive me to the hospital?'
That's when he remembered she said Jai fell down and was hospitalized. At that time, of course, Jai was important. 'How can I get annoyed by that?' He hit the wall as he asked himself.
He chided himself but it was too late.
When he got to know, they were back, he went to them and spoke to Jai. Sky didn't even look at him. She was silent throughout dinner as she drank soup and let Loran feed her.
He kept his eyes on her but she didn't even see him once. He wanted to talk to her in the room but she never came till morning.
He went to talk but she entered walk-in and exited with three outfits which matched well but it was different styles. She left and came back. When he called her and went near, what he never wanted to happen had happened.
She jerked back towards walls as her breath quickened and she trembled continuously with her teeth chattering lightly. She didn't dare to even see his face. All were signs of being scared of him. He couldn't make himself say anything.
She was so lively with him and he ruined everything in impulse. He saw her entering inside and waited patiently. But when he tried to talk, no words came out.
He saw her on the breakfast table that she was back to normal but she never saw his face. She would see both people next to him but not him.
He heard Ryan tease her, "Sky! Aren't you missing your husband anymore? Why are you sitting so far?"
Sky chuckled, "I thought you are missing him. So I'm with my brothers who are missing me more."
He saw her face all the time but she didn't even give him a glance. Sky who would make eye contact with him even if they sit with all and talk, she never saw his face.
The next morning, he thought to talk to her when the Barton brothers leave. But what Jai said hurt him so much that, it suffocated him.
He thought she wouldn't come to lunch when he saw her coming but he saw her on a chair instead of going to him and talk.
She used to sit near him where he would work or she used to insert herself between him and cabinet so that he could hug her or she could lean on him.
He wasn't thinking much when she was doing it. Now he misses everything. the uneasiness, heartache, regret, struggle, no confidence, no hope started giving more pain.
He took a long time to build his courage and speak but her cold behavior made him call her, "Sky!"
He noticed the slight tremble in her. That was enough for him to know how much she was scared of him. When she explained bowl with herself, he felt so weak that, he wanted to break down.
When she left he took every piece of broken porcelain bowl before going back to work. Both returned back to the Harley mansion in silence.
After dinner, he went to Ryan's room to finish a few urgent files and went to Olivia's room but paused near the door hearing Sky.
"Grandmother, you shouldn't worry about us."
"Kid! Arlo already told me everything. Why are you holding back your pain? You can punish him as you want. I will support you in everything."
There was a long pause before Olivia spoke again, "You should stop holding your tears. Crying isn't a sign of weakness."
There wasn't sound again, then he heard Sky taking deep breaths through her mouth. "Grandmother, if crying could ease my pain, I would have cried all day."
"It wasn't his mistake. He gave in to our relationship so much that I have nothing to give. It's normal to get frustrated. He was always good to me probably more than what I deserved. I am the reason for my pain and I'm paying it. For that, I have to be punished, not him. He shouldn't have doubted my relationship with my brother which I value the most than anything. Anyway, you should stop worrying about us. We are not kids anymore. Rest early." She finished as she sniffed.
Without waiting for a reply, she exited the room and ran upstairs as she wiped her tears. Arlo who stood rooted on the other side of the door, moved when Olivia called him inside.
"Arlo Smith!"
