Olivia grunted, "Doris!"
Sky didn't care about what she said about the belonging of materialistic things. What she heard first gave her sharp pain in her chest, which made her difficult to breathe. 'She isn't your daughter after all. She has her own family. She isn't Barton. Why are you including her in everything with brothers?'
Doris retorted, "What I'm saying is the truth. Why are..."
Yes! It was the truth that Sky knew but not ready to accept it.
"SaMaRa." Jai scowled. It was the first time he took her name but it was due to anger.
All turned towards them. The Barton parents stood up to go near Sky. David froze.
Sky breathed through her mouth and patted on Jai's shoulder, "Brother Jai! It's okay. Don't get angry." She had just finished saying and a cane tap heard loudly and Sky ran towards it.
"You useless bastard! Who did you bring home? And you! dishonorable woman! Keep your a** away from my home."
Sky had reached old master Barton, "Grampy! Calm down. There is nothing to get angry. Let me take you to your room."
She repeated 'Grampy' multiple times to stop him as she didn't let the old master Barton go to the living hall from his place.
Old master continued in rage, "If you are thinking your daughter will get assets due to this useless bastard. Don't even dream about it. Nothing belong..."
Sky pushed him inside the room and locked the door after she went in. "Grampy! Why are you angry with Brother Jai. He didn't do anything. Sister-in -law very good. Be...Be... Because of me, I don't want any problems between the two fami.." Sky choked on her words when she heard a few words from the living hall and continued. "An... and... what Mrs.Moore said is... the truth after all..."
Sky who had controlled herself started crying. "I don't want Brother Jai and Sister-in-law to face problems because of me. If you stop them, Brother Jai will not like anybody else and will worry about me. Even Loran will do the same. It's me who has a complicated life. Why do you all have to pay for that? I'm enough to face it. Why does a happy occasion turn foul because of me? Let them..."
Sky continued in her breaking tone. Old master's face softened as soon as he heard her talking. Seeing her cry, his heart ached for her. He patted on her shoulder as she continued.
What she was trying to say was simple, Don't be angry with Jai. Don't object to Jai and Samara's wedding.
"Doll! I will listen to you. Don't cry." The old master had repeated many times to stop her from crying.
Arlo who had knocked on the door used spare keys and entered their room. After nodding at Old master, he pulled her embrace and coaxed her.
Old master cued him take care of her and went outside to talk.
--
Arlo was first to react when Sky and Old master left to latter's room. "Keep your parents away from my wife. Else I will make sure she will regret all her life what she said today."
Arlo said to Samara and went towards the Old master's room. Before Jai could speak, Samara chided her Mom. "Mom! You were too much. How many times I have told you the importance of Sky? What do you mean by this is not her family? This is her family. Even if I marry Jai, this family belongs more to Sky first than me."
"Why are you bluffing? She is Harley who is just looked after by Bartons. If you marry Jai, This will be your family. Not her family." Doris roared the last three words which Sky heard.
She took the topic when they were talking, they got to know they had a large farm, estates, and many rented apartments.
"How dare..." George stopped Loran from speaking.
"Mom! can't you think before speaking? Do you even know what you are saying?"
"Foster daughter has her own family. She already has Harley and Now Sigma. Why is she behind Barton?"
"Mind your tongue!" Jai scowled.
Samara's head started throbbing, "Mom! Are you saying Sky needs money? But she doesn't care about it Or are you implying you are selling your daughter for assets?"
She continued for some time and Doris rebuffed multiple times.
.
Arlo went to Jai ignoring others, He was cold and unyielding. "I need the spare key of that room. Now!"
Jai looked at Loran who understood and went to get key. After getting the Key, Arlo reassured Jai, "I will take care of her. You should solve here. We both know Sky wants you guys together."
Jai paused and nodded. If they break up due to Samara's mother, he knew Sky would think she was responsible for it. Loran stayed with Jai if in case he gets angry, Sky or his presence was very important to control Jai.
"Samara, is this a way to be filial? Don't cross your limits. I'm your mother." Doris yelled.
Samara who had enough of her mother's rebuffing had reached her limits, "Then forget that you have a daughter."
"That's enough!" Old Master Barton entered the living hall and bellowed.
He looked at David first, "Even though you gave her family love sending her here. You also made her life complicated which she is paying."
David was feeling pathetic from the start. He didn't retort and stayed quiet because it was true he made her life complicated. If Sky wasn't attached too much with the Barton family, it wouldn't have affected but that wasn't the case.
Old master Barton turned to Bernad and Barney. "I'm Eugene Barton. Sky's grandfather. If you have a problem with that, You can leave now with that glib tongued woman."
Then he turned to Samara, "You! Young lady, If you love Jai, go and get married to him. I don't care if you want to keep a relationship with your Moore family or not, I don't want anybody to upset my Doll."
He didn't stop and turned to Jai and ordered, "Solve this soon." The latter nodded in response and saw Eugene leave to his room.
Eugene breathed a sigh of relief looking at Arlo taking care of Sky. He didn't enter the room and went to the kitchen to prepare porridge for Sky.
When Sky stopped weeping, Arlo didn't talk and silently accompanied her as she leaned on him and watched the lawn outside blankly.
When Eugene returned to the room, he brought three bowls and convinced Sky to eat. He and Arlo accompanied her to eat.
