Chapter 564 - It wasn't because of you

She leaned back on the headrest and saw Arlo working on her laptop. "Brother Jai! What happened? Grampy said he will not object or get angry with you. What did you guys decide?"

Sky could only see discontent in Jai's eyes. There wasn't a hint of happiness.

Jai nodded, "Everything... is as planned."

Sky wasn't stupid not to understand, only events were as planned. But events can't be a celebration if they can't participate in wholeheartedly.

Samara who entered tried to cheer irrespective of her terrible mood. "And you have to arrange for us."

Sky clutched the blanket under the quilt tightly and sounded excited with a similar expression, "Really? Am I doing it? Have you decided on the venue? Are we doing at home or outside? How about destination engagement?"

Samara internally sighed. Arlo looked at her in doubt whereas Jai clenched his fist as tight as he could. He knew well what was going on in her mind. He was well aware of her.

As expected by him, the gloominess in the home changed to lively as she started planning with them after knowing the venue. Since Jai and Samara didn't think about anything other than dates, Sky listed out everything with Ryan and Loran.

She asked Samara's preference and she knew how Jai would like it. She done fusion and roughly planned out everything with everyone. They gave suggestions if required.

"What about rings? Do you guys have it or bought it?" Sky asked after when almost other things were decided.

"Why? Aren't you designing for us?" Jai asked. 

"Can I do that?" Sky was surprised. "Really?" 

Sky ran behind Jai who was keeping dishes on the dining table from the kitchen. "Yes! Wedding rings are also on you, I'm saying in advance."

"Oh!" Sky peeked out of the dining hall, "Sister-in-law, Can I really design it? Haven't you thought to get a particular design?"

Samara turned towards Sky shaking her head, "No, I never really cared about accessories. I have seen your many designs, You do it."

Sky sat next to her asked her requirements and how she would like.

Samara was very simple, she didn't want anything popping out designs as she would wear daily in her military camp. Sky thought about Jai's and Samara's requirements which were almost similar. So it wasn't difficult to think about design.

"Deal! Send your ring size. I may order tomorrow evening or day after tomorrow." Sky said as all went towards the dining table.

Samara was amazed by how quickly she was deciding with every small detail including everyone's outfits.

All women rested the whole evening and everything was cooked by Arlo, Jai, George, Loran, and Ryan. Eugene met Olivia and Ryan at the dining table during dinner.

Eugene was happy with Arlo, Ryan, and Olivia who liked and dotted on Sky. He didn't tell it but his way of talking was enough for the Barton family and David to know. But his view on the Moore family was worst.

After dinner, they chitchatted for sometime before going to their rooms. After getting fresh Sky went to the Attic room with her sketchbook. Arlo who came out of the bathroom thought as she went to Jai's room.

Initially, Jai thought Sky must be resting in her room but feeling restless, he knocked on her room door. Arlo opened the unlocked door. Jai asked "Sky?"

"Didn't she come to you?" Arlo was confused. Jai didn't respond and gave it a thought. "Rest! I will get her."

Arlo nodded saw Jai going upstairs. Jai saw Sky's slippers outside the attic room door. The attic room she went in was small which had floor bed completely. Hence she leaves her slippers outside.

He knocked lightly, "It's me!"

The door opened after a minute and Sky let Jai enter. "Brother Jai! How is this?"

Sky handed her sketchbook to Jai which had a Couple Rings. The more appropriate word would be 'couple love bands'.

Two lines were intertwined with each other forming a ring that required laser cutting for gaps between them. One line in the lady's ring had a sequence of stones and his ring had only one stone.

Sky spoke again pointing at two names in the same sketchbook, "Do you like JaRa or JaiRa? I will ask to carve it in the inner face of the ring."

Jai closed the book, "Sky! Do you still have to act strong in front of me?"

Seeing her trying to finding an excuse, Jai flipped pillow next to her which had wet patches but what he didn't expect was wet tissues under it. Both said sorry in unison.

"Brother Jai! Why are you saying it? You didn't do anything. That all happened because of me. Families talk would have ended on a happy note but my presence ruined everything." Sky said as she wiped her cheeks.

"It wasn't because of you! Her thinking isn't suited for us. If I knew Mrs.Moore would talk like that, I would have never allowed her here."

Both blamed each other for some time. Soon Sky stopped crying and again spoke about the ring. Jai selected JaiRa and he said he liked the ring. They spoke for some time until Sky fell asleep. Her head was on his lap and Sky had clutched his hand hence he didn't move much.

Around One o'clock, Arlo went upstairs and saw them in the attic room. Jai who was still awake glanced at him. "How are you going to sleep? Shall I take her down?"

His voice was too low. Jai pointed at Sky's hand. When he moved his hand, Sky clutched tighter pulling towards her with a frown. Both men sighed looking at her.

Jai gently rubbed between her brows and settled her frown.

Arlo cleaned tissues and gave another pillow for Jai for his backrest and headrest. He sat opposite side and both sat quietly until they dozed off in the sitting position.

Early morning Sky and Arlo left in one car. Ryan left in another car. Olivia and David were leaving after breakfast with Samara. Sky didn't know Jai and Loran were coming in the evening. George and Georgia decided to go on Wednesday.

Eugene left after breakfast. He only invited Arlo and Sky to visit his manor when they get free from work.

Since Arlo had prepared drafts of all the mails and made notes about a few digital files that she would have to sign after reaching office, Sky only took few minutes to check them and closed her laptop soon in the car and spoke to Arlo on the way.
