Chapter 716 - I want to eat you alive(2)

Arthur's face was very dark and saw her going to her table. Sky nodded at Old master Milton and Joe as a greeting before sitting.

Sky motioned her hand upwards for Arthur Milton who had started to hear the gossip between shareholders.

Arthur wasn't ready to announce about Sky hence he was rooted. Sky turned to Andy who nodded and went upstairs.

The chatter was at a high pitch because they all knew who Andy Gill was. In a few seconds, all started to say, 'Sky Harley... She is Sky Harley...' 

"Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen..."

The auditorium went to silent mode. Any continued, "I'm Andy Gill, an assistant of President and CEO of Harley Corporation, Sky Harley. Today I'm revealing the one more identity of President Harley to you all that is the Young miss of Milton family. Granddaughter of Chairman Milton."

There was a frenzy for a few seconds then Andy spoke which brought the silence back.

"President Harley is very busy so let's jump straight to the objective of today's conference."

Sky didn't want too much drama so she had firmly said to get into action.

"Chairman Milton is proposing the change of President for the Milton Empire. CEO Milton isn't a young man to run around to look after such a huge conglomerate so Chairman Milton suggested a change and expecting your full participation in electing the capable person for the President Position. Anybody interested can participate including CEO Milton if interested."

A secretary gave a tab to Andy which was displaying the members participating in voting for President selection in the projection screen.

Arthur glanced at his secretary who quickly added his name. Then Andy typed 'Sky Harley'.

They waited for nearly five minutes for any participant and recalled for the participant but no one dared to stand against Arthur Milton. Given Sky Harley's name showing on the projector screen, they didn't dare to open their mouths.

Arthur's spirits were high up because maximum members knew about him for a really long time and would be supporting him.

Well, it was true.

Arthur wanted to finish the process by raising their hand and taking count instead of ballet which the emcee announced hence he walked up to Diaz and took the mic standing proudly.

"Hello everyone, I would like to put on a change. Since my niece, Sky, President Harley is very busy, why don't we raise our hand and finish it sooner for her. Let's not waste precious time of my niece, Sky."

Sky's hand froze for less than a second. "Why is he so eager to get his face slapped in front of everyone?"

Andy didn't understand but Sam knew the reason. Seeing Sky nod, Andy agreed to Arthur on her behalf with a condition that shareholders' hands must not lower until the counting wasn't finished.

Arthur wanted to laugh hearing it but he didn't. He wanted to show where Sky belonged before admonishing her openly.

"Let's start the voting process..." The emcee said and the first name in the list displayed in the bold characters.

"Arthur Milton"

To be fact nearly eighty percent raised their hand which increased Arthur's mocking smile at Sky. The latter leaned back on her seat and sweetly smiled back at him.

Most of the shareholders' mobile started to beep in the auditorium.

In just twenty seconds, Arthur's face turned darker seeing one by one lowering their hands and noticed Sky's innocent smile at him which was saying, 'I'm not an idiot to come unprepared.'

It was Arthur's turf, Sky wasn't a fool to go and stand like a clown.

In a minute, only twenty were raising their hands out of nearly seventy making Arthur fume in anger.

The next name came up on the screen. The name itself spoke about the person how strong she had become in country A. 

'Sky Harley' 

Unlike before and past years, Sky Harley's name carried lots of weight.

Willingly or unwillingly seventy percent raised their hand announcing the new President of Milton empire, that was Sky Harley.

Sky had to go on stage but she signaled to pass the mike to Arthur without letting him go offstage. "CEO Milton, what are your opinions about President Harley taking over to lower your hectic schedule?"

'CEO Milton' from his own employee was like a big slap on his face. In the meantime, a few bodyguards took everyone's mobile aside.

Arthur clutched the mic as tight as he could, "Sky, you shouldn't burden yourself more with two companies. Let me handle it."

Sky collected a mic for herself to her place and spoke like a filial niece, a filial younger to an elder one.

"Uncle Milton, you worry too much about me that's why I am taking over only the President position. How about you retire and rest well? I'm young and the industry already knows me best."

Her tuneful voice quietened the entire hall.

Except for a few, nobody knew her so they all had had an urge to see how she looks.

Arthur gritted his teeth. It was true he wasn't young, he was called as a senior citizen of the country so he couldn't retort that.

Fuming in a rage he went down the diaz thinking how could she make him sign the resignation from the President position.

He wasn't going to give up that easily and when she goes to him, he planned to take her in his control.

Sam made sure there wasn't anybody hiding and aiming at Sky before letting her get on the Diaz with Andy.

There was pin-drop silence when Sky faced everyone. The shareholders didn't expect Sky to be so beautiful who was standing with her aloof face.

Even though she tried to hide her enchanting delicate side, it couldn't be noticed standing in the limelight. It made it hard to distract their gaze away from her expressionless face.

"Hello, Ladies and gentlemen. I'm Sky Harley. President and CEO of Harley corporation and new President of Milton empire. If anybody here has an objection, please state your problem now."

All looked at each other and didn't speak. They were expecting she would tell how good she was boasting herself.

A man in his mid-fifties stood up after a few seconds, "President Harley, you are a woman and women aren't capable and we don't want your inefficiency to ruin the status of Milton Empire."

Sky nodded, "You are?"

She asked politely but didn't let him answer, "Sorry! You aren't capable of making yourself known to all and you are questioning a woman who is President of two conglomerates. Do you need any more justification for my capabilities and efficiency?"

She doesn't boast herself that doesn't mean she would let a man trample her taking her gender.

"Any more valid questions or objections?"

While asking, Sky's eyes fell on an attractive young man who instantly grabbed her attention. He was in the late twenties and was breathtakingly handsome. His sharp features made it impossible to be unnoticed in the crowd. 

She waited for some time but there were no questions.

"Thank you, I hope we cooperate from today. I also would like to announce I would be reforming the board of directories so whoever willing to be part of it is most welcome. Please give your details to the person over there."

Sky pointed at a man near the exit holding a tab.

She couldn't help but steal glances at the handsome man who was lazily watching over everything as she continued to talk.
