(T/N: Where have I been? Sleeping and sulking depression. Well I was supposed to update yesterday, but I had (and still have) some troubles with chapter 29. Like I’m crying (mentally) as I am trying to get through this. I need help…
I will try my best to update, but I don’t guarantee daily updates. Sorry… Well enjoy this chapter!)
On the day of the wedding, the sky was clear. I never thought of myself as HareOtoko, but after coming to this world, I had been blessed with good weather at crucial times.
(HareOtoko is a person who brings good weather with them everywhere.)
This morning, I was busy with preparing for the wedding. I had a stylist do my hair and makeup, and then Elias helped me change into the indigo wedding dress.
For the sake of staying up all night for this day, seeing my appearance, the seamstresses were slightly moved to tears. Although, I was also a little relieved that Elias said that it suited me. Anyways, it was necessary that I don't show up in trashy clothing* in front of the citizens (the people). [*T/N: Said something about junky, rags, tattered clothes. Basically he means he doesn't want to show up in out-dated, out of style, not fancy enough or such clothing in front of the citizens because he is going to be the Empress and he needs to look the part to play the part.]*
Being careful not to step on the hem (of the dress), I went towards the entrance hall of the castle. When I got there, Leonhart-sama was already waiting there. The figure of this man wearing a white, ceremonial military outfit was just like a picture of a character in a fairy tale. I haven't met Leonhart-sama since the first day's meeting.
"I have kept you waiting."
"No, not really." Leonhart-sama turned to me and answered, and then looked at [confirmed?] my appearance. "That dress, it suits you." He complimented me.
"Thank you. However, I am not accustomed to these sort of dresses, so I get nervous."
After having a polite conversion, Leonhart-sama lent me his hand to help me on to the carriage. We rode through the streets, and went toward the church for the wedding ceremony.
While looking at the scenery from the carriage, I remembered the fairy tales I read when I was a child. Never have I imagined myself inside a carriage like this. Moreover, I am even wearing a wedding dress.
I gave a small wave to the citizens. I was taught one way of waving very strictly.
"Are there no discomforts with your living conditions?" Leonhart-sama suddenly questioned.
"Yes. Thanks to you, everyday is enjoyable, but I am worried Elias is receiving unjust treatment as a knight because of me."
Even though the person himself showed his understanding, I was still worried about the matter.
"If that's the case, it will be alright. Elias was appointed as a guard due to Ekart's recommendation. Ekart wouldn't make a mistake in selecting a personnel. Besides, Elias seemed willing to be taught by my maids."
I'm a little convinced that that's how he was skillful in making black tea.
"Is that so? That's a relief."
No matter what, the conversations with Leonhart-sama don't last long. It was unnecessary to be conscious of the “cool strategy”. However, this strategy might be the best way to go. I think he (Leonhart) would do a better job since he is so unfriendly, and he doesn't look like he's acting.
After a short while, we arrived at the church. Inside the church, there was a wide, chalky, white room where the ring exchange was being performed. The ring exchange was watched by this country's authorities and representatives of the neighboring countries'. Perhaps this culture was conveyed [taught] by the first generation Prime Minister, but it has achieved its own evolution in Caspar. It was so that the rings were the color of each other's eyes.
To be exact, on my left hand was a blue ring that was the color of Leonhart-sama's eyes, and on Leonhart-sama's left hand was a shiney, purple ring of my eye color. I was fascinated by the mysterious radiance the rings held.
However, I was brought back into reality and was surprised by the priest's words. "Well then, please complete the vow with a kiss."
I was dumbfounded that this tradition (culture) was also conveyed. It wasn't heard.** (T/N: I had not heard? What? EVEN? WHAT HAS NOT BEEN HEARD?!)
To my surprise, Leonhart-sama' right hand was on my left cheek. When I looked up, naturally, there were blue eyes looking straight at me. When I was gazing at the blue eyes that were more beautiful than the ring, they approached me, and then our lips touched.
Stealing a kiss, Leonhart-sama separated from me, "Let's become a good family." he whispered.
When I heard that, at last the kiss processed and my mind had finally caught up. Turning bright red, I gave a small nod.
