Merry Christmas

"You have the power to control the greatest content in the world."

On the screen, a man dressed in blue armor with beige hair smiled at the camera. Behind him, countless TV screens flashed by.

Then, a blonde girl appeared on the screen. She wore a white battle uniform with three golden pentagram stars on her chest.

"Enjoy all your favorites, the storylines and sensory thrills from Vought Studios' movies and series, Plus!"

The screen changed, and the man from earlier appeared again.

This time, the scene behind him changed more rapidly, as if it were a news broadcast, with various strange scenes flashing by, accompanied by many staff and reporters.

"Get reliable news from people you trust, Plus."

"Don't miss any game." A new character appeared—this time, it was a African-American man. "24-hour round-the-clock coverage of your favorite teams, Plus."

Next, a man completely covered in black armor stood holding a sign on the screen.

The sign read: "Vought Entertainment Programs, always up to date, with the latest fashion news, pop culture, and gossip, Plus."

The girl in the white uniform appeared again, and alongside her was a red-haired woman dressed in medieval leather armor. Both women were smiling brightly at the camera as they continued speaking.

"Programs made for women, telling the stories we want to see, Plus."

"Vought+."

"The world's premier super streaming platform."

"Sign up now!"

The video lasted no more than fifty seconds.

But the impact it had on Susan was enormous. For a moment, she even forgot to maintain her energy field, which made her feel anxious afterward.

She quietly stared at the television for a long time. By now, the screen had returned to normal, and the previous images seemed like a hallucination, but Susan knew this was definitely not an illusion.

Not acting immediately, Susan continued to watch the screen for a while. Once she confirmed everything had returned to normal, she sighed in relief and deactivated her energy field.

"Oh my god."

She patted her chest, her previously racing heart now at ease.

She wasn't very knowledgeable about multiversal matters, and now that Alex and Reed were gone, Susan was genuinely worried about any problems she might not be able to solve.

Alex furrowed his brow and started recalling his activities over the past week.

In this time, Alex had been traveling through three universes—two infected with the zombie virus and the universe of Supernatural. Since each universe had different time flows, Alex could only make rough guesses.

While Alex was thinking, Miss Minutes already provided the answer.

[Sir, I compared the system records for this period, as well as the file calendar. Based on calculations, this message likely came when you encountered the Zombie Sentry.]

Miss Minutes's voice grew colder as she spoke.

[And most likely, it was when the timepad lost connection with you.]

'You're saying?' Alex suddenly realized, his expression shifting between anger and confusion. 'I received this message when I was dealing with the Zombie Sentry!?'

'So, the IP address Tony Stark unlocked isn't the key clue? There was another, much bigger clue implanted in my mind, but I lost the connection, so I didn't actually receive it?!'

[That's highly likely, so this also explains why this message was directly sent to the House of Mystery—it's the data control center you set up.]

"Fuck."

Alex sighed and closed his eyes.

If this was true, then the message was likely something sent by the 'pollution sources.'

He hadn't even found the pollution source yet, and it seemed like he had almost been betrayed by it.

God only knew if this message contained some kind of cognitively altering distortion. If his mistake caused the House of Mystery or even the entire Wasteland to be contaminated or invaded, he would be a thousand-year sinner.

"Immediately monitor all the equipment in the House of Mystery. I need to know everything happening there, and on the Wasteland. If there's even the slightest hint of contamination, inform me right away."

[Already doing it, sir, but you don't seem to need to be so alarmed. According to the timepad's data, the House of Mystery hasn't been 'polluted,' and no parameters have been detected.]

Miss Minutes spoke uncertainly.

[It seems some kind of energy is protecting the operation of the House of Mystery. Even when that information came into contact with our data, it was mysteriously parsed, decrypted, and converted into another usable format—uh, AVI?]

'Video?' Alex frowned.

[Yes, MP4 also works. By the way, Ms. Susan is trying to contact you. Should I connect?]

Alex exhaled deeply and slowly nodded.

"Connect it. She must have seen that video by now."
